Beckham is dealing with left wrist irritation after taking an awkward swing Tuesday. It doesn't sound like he'll need a disabled list stint, but the Palehose will use Angel Sanchez at second base for a few days.

Francisco Rodriguez picked up his sixth save of the season Saturday in the Brewers' win over the Pirates.

K-Rod tossed a perfect ninth inning to lock down Milwaukee's 13th win in 18 games. He has not been scored upon in 2014 and has been among the most valuable fantasy closers through the first three weeks of the season. It was K-Rod's 310th career save, tying him with Goose Gossage for 20th on the all-time major league leaderboard.

Ivan Nova left his start Saturday against the Rays after experiencing right elbow soreness.

Tests are already in the works. Nova had allowed eight earned runs in four innings at the time of his departure, inflating his season ERA from 5.94 to 8.27.

Henderson Alvarez tossed a shutout Saturday in the Marlins' 7-0 stomping of the Mariners.

It was the third career shutout for Alvarez, who looked sharp all night and even carried a perfect game into the sixth inning. He surrendered just two hits in all while fanning four batters and issuing zero walks. The 24-year-old right-hander will try to stay hot in his next start on the road against the Mets. Consistency has been an issue for him.

Josh Reddick hit a walkoff RBI single to lead the A's past the Astros on Saturday in Oakland.

Reddick capped off a three-run A's rally in the bottom of the ninth inning with his game-ending RBI single to center field. He also had two other singles on the afternoon, finishing 3-for-5. This after going 3-for-4 with a two-run homer on Friday night.

Cole Hamels (biceps) has been cleared to join the Phillies' rotation Wednesday in Los Angeles.

Hamels threw seven innings of one-run ball Thursday at High-A Clearwater, wrapping up his minor league rehab assignment with a 2.12 ERA and 12/1 K/BB ratio in 17 total frames. The Dodgers present a tough first matchup, but Hamels should be a fantasy ace going forward.

Chase Headley is back in the Padres' starting lineup on Saturday night against the Giants.

Headley has been limited to pinch-hitting duties for much of this week because of a mild right biceps strain. He is batting fifth and playing third base Saturday.

Jenrry Mejia (blister) has been cleared to start Monday in the Mets' series-opener against the Cardinals.

Mejia made it through a bullpen session Saturday without being bothered by the blister on his right middle finger. The 24-year-old is 2-0 with a 2.81 ERA in three starts this year, but St. Louis is a tough fantasy matchup.

Desmond Jennings will be limited to pinch-hitting duties on Saturday and Sunday due to groin discomfort.

Jennings is aiming to return to the Rays' starting lineup for Tuesday's series-opener against the Twins. He has a cool .825 OPS in 17 games this season.

Max Scherzer picked up his first victory of the 2014 season on Saturday, surrendering one run on three hits over seven strong innings against the Angels.

The reigning American League Cy Young winner punched out nine while walking just two in the game. The only damage against him came on a leadoff home run by J.B. Shuck, but he was able to settle in nicely and dominate the rest of the afternoon. He’ll carry a 2.33 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 34/7 K/BB ratio into Thursday’s home start against the White Sox.

Carlos Beltran (shoulder, wrist) is back in the Yankees' starting lineup on Saturday against the Rays.

Beltran sat out of Friday's game after flipping over a short outfield fence while trying to make a diving catch on Thursday. He has some soreness in his right shoulder and wrist, but an MRI was taken and came up clean.

Lance Lynn yielded one run over 5 2/3 innings in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Nationals.

Lynn left with the bases loaded and two out in the bottom of the sixth inning. Fortunately for him, Kevin Siegrest was able to get Danny Espinosa to fly out to center field to end the threat. Lynn gave up five hits and three walks while fanning five batters. Oh, and he also had an RBI double in a three-run second inning against Jordan Zimmermann. He's now 4-0 with a 3.42 ERA and 27/7 K/BB ratio through 23 2/3 innings. The Mets are on tap for next week.
