Maicer Izturis is not playing Monday due to some tightness in his hamstring.

It sounds like a day-to-day situation. Emilio Bonifacio is starting at second base in Izturis' place.

Jacoby Ellsbury was forced to leave Friday's game against the Red Sox in the first inning with an apparent injury.

Ellsbury delivered a solid weekend's worth of fantasy stats before departing, leading the game off with a walk and deftly swiping second and third base before scoring on a Brian McCann double. It was diving into third base though that he sustained the injury, which could be to his hip. Aaron Hicks replaced him in the Yankees' lineup. Look for an update on Ellsbury's status shortly.

Friday's scheduled contest between the Athletics and Orioles was postponed due to inclement weather.

The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday. Friday's scheduled starters, Ubaldo Jimenez and Rich Hill, are expected to be pushed back a day. Make sure to get any and all O's and A's out of your daily fantasy lineups before lineups lock.

Rockies placed C Nick Hundley on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left oblique.

Hundley has been battling a sore left oblique all week and it got to the point where the Rockies needed the roster spot and couldn't wait for him any longer. Dustin Garneau was recalled from Triple-A to take his place on the roster.
May 6 - 6:38 PM

John Lackey recorded 11 strikeouts while holding the Nationals to two runs over seven innings in Friday's 8-6 victory.

The Nats got single tallies in the first (on an Anthony Rendon homer) and second (on a Max Scherzer single) innings, but Lackey cruised after that. It was a great outing made all the more impressive when you consider that the wind was blowing out at Wrigley Field. Lackey has mixed in a couple clunkers among his six starts, so his ERA is still at 4.02. However, he boasts a 1.09 WHIP and 40/10 K/BB ratio over 40 1/3 innings. The veteran righty will take on the Padres at home next week.
May 6 - 5:53 PM

Brian Dozier is sitting out Friday due to right hamstring soreness.

Dozier injured himself while exiting the batter's box on Wednesday. He said he could have played Friday, but the decision was made to give him an extra day of rest. Dozier expects to be back in there Saturday. Eduardo Nunez is at second base Friday.
May 6 - 5:38 PM

Ben Zobrist smacked a solo homer and a three-run blast in Friday's victory over the Nationals.

He took Max Scherzer out to right field in the third and again in the fifth. Zobrist also drew a pair of walks, reaching base in all four trips to the plate. The 34-year-old has gone deep four times in his last three games and is now sporting a nifty .277/.398/.489 batting line.
May 6 - 5:23 PM

Brett Gardner (elbow) is back in the Yankees' lineup Friday.

Gardner didn't start Thursday after being hit on the right elbow by a pitch Wednesday, but he's fine. The Yankees also have Ronald Torreyes at third base over Chase Headley.
May 6 - 4:54 PM

Mike Moustakas (thumb) was scratched from Friday's lineup.

Moustakas returned to action from a bruised thumb on Wednesday, but the thumb is apparently still bothering him. Consider him day-to-day. Christian Colon had been expected to start at second base, but he's now shifted over to third and Omar Infante has entered the lineup at second.
May 6 - 4:19 PM

Alex Rodriguez (hamstring) could potentially return from the disabled list when first eligible on May 19.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that an MRI revealed a "one-plus" grade right hamstring strain for A-Rod, so it was good news all things considered. The club figures to have a better idea by next week whether Rodriguez returning in mid-May is realistic.
May 6 - 4:01 PM

Pirates activated INF Jung Ho Kang from the 15-day disabled list.

Kang has completed his rehab from a nasty leg injury from last September that resulted in a torn meniscus and fractured tibia. He's starting at third base and batting sixth against the Cardinals on Friday, although he's only expected to start two out of every three games initially. David Freese will see a drop in playing time with Kang back.
May 6 - 3:49 PM

Devin Mesoraco will undergo surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

It was a labrum tear in his hip that ended his 2015 campaign and now Mesoraco is facing another lost season. The recovery time is a minimum of four months, so the catcher is effectively done for 2016. He's hit only .158/.245/.200 across just 106 plate appearances since the beginning of 2015. Tucker Barnhart and Ramon Cabrera will handle the catching duties with Mesoraco on the shelf.
