Justin Maxwell left Tuesday's game after the fourth inning after being hit on the left hand by a pitch.

Maxwell stayed in the game to run, but he was removed in the top of the fifth when the Astros went back on defense. The club will probably an update on his status before long.

Derek Holland picked up his second victory of the season on Sunday, limiting the Indians to just one run on three hits over six strong innings.

The veteran southpaw walked three on the afternoon. The only damage against him came on a solo homer off the bat of Francisco Lindor in the fourth inning. Holland has actually done a very nice job so far for the White Sox, compiling a 1.99 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 19/9 K/BB ratio in 22 2/3 innings. He could be worth a look as a streaming option against a depleted Tigers' offense in Detroit on Saturday.
Apr 23 - 5:32 PM

Andrew Benintendi went 5-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored Sunday as the Red Sox beat the Orioles.

Benintendi became the youngest Red Sox player to register five hits in a game since Tony Conigliaro back in April 1967. The 22-year-old outfielder is batting .347/.415/.444 with one home run, 11 RBI, two stolen bases, and 10 runs scored through 18 games this season. He has 56 hits in 52 career major league games.
Apr 23 - 5:19 PM

Ken Giles worked a scoreless 10th inning to earn his fifth save Sunday versus the Rays.

Giles gave up a one-out single to Brad Miller but retired the other three batters he faced. The hard-throwing right-hander has looked sharp in four straight appearances after fighting through a rough stretch. He still carries top-tier closer potential on a very good Astros team.
Apr 23 - 5:03 PM

Jose Altuve finished 3-for-5 with a homer and two runs scored Sunday in the Astros' 6-4 victory over the Rays.

Altuve slugged a solo homer off the Rays starter Matt Andriese in the top of the fifth inning and scored an important run after a single in the top of the 10th as Houston came back from a 4-0 first-inning deficit to win the game in extras. Altuve is slashing .324/.393/.459 with two home runs, seven RBI, seven stolen bases, and 11 runs scored in 19 games this season.
Apr 23 - 5:00 PM

Zach Eflin fired seven innings of one-run ball Sunday in the Phillies' 5-2 defeat of the Braves.

Eflin put up zero after zero until the top of the seventh, when Matt Kemp connected for a solo home run. Eflin gave up just three hits in all and didn't issue a single walk while striking out three. The 23-year-old right-hander has been impressive through two starts and will try to keep it all working next time out at Dodger Stadium.
Apr 23 - 4:31 PM

Ivan Nova was dominant in a victory over his former club on Sunday, allowing just one run on four hits over seven innings in a victory over the Yankees.

Nova punched out a season-high seven batters while issuing only one free pass. He kept the Bombers off the board until the seventh inning where Jacoby Ellsbury got him for a solo home run. Now 2-2 on the season, Nova will bring a stellar 2.00 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 15/1 K/BB ratio into Saturday's outing against the Marlins in Miami on Saturday.
Apr 23 - 4:30 PM

Scott Schebler finished 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBI in the Reds' 7-5 win over the Cubs on Sunday.

Schebler tagged Cubs starter John Lackey for a solo home run in the bottom of the second inning and he plated Eugenio Suarez with an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth. Schebler now has four home runs and nine RBI on the season but a weak .175/.257/.397 overall batting line.

Kendall Graveman (shoulder) will throw another bullpen session Monday and is on track to start Thursday in Anaheim.

Graveman went on the disabled list a week ago with a shoulder injury, but the move has looked precautionary from the beginning, as the righty resumed throwing a day after going on the DL. The righty has put up a 2.00 ERA in his first three starts and should be started in deeper fantasy leagues this week.
Apr 23 - 2:33 PM

Kyle Seager was scratched from the Mariners' lineup Sunday with a sore hip.

It's something that been bothering him for a few days, although Seager said he'd be available to pinch-hit so it looks like a minor issue. Mike Freeman will fill in at third base.
Apr 23 - 2:00 PM

Rajai Davis (hamstring) remained out of the Athletics' lineup Sunday.

It will be a third straight start that he's missed due to a tight left hamstring. Davis worked out prior to Saturday's game and presumably will Sunday, as well, so it appears he's close to returning. The A's are also giving Khris Davis a day off Sunday, as they have Matt Joyce, Jaff Decker and Matt Olson in the outfield.
Apr 23 - 1:36 PM

Luis Valbuena (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Inland Empire on Monday.

Working his way back from a right hamstring strain, Valbuena slated to play 5-7 games before being activated from the disabled list. With C.J. Cron struggling, Valbuena should play regularly against righties once he returns.
