Chris Heisey (hamstring) is expected to be placed on the 15-day disabled list.

The move won't happen Sunday but that's only because Heisey's roster replacement, Donald Lutz, couldn't arrive in time for the Reds' series-finale against the Nationals. Heisey suffered a strained right hamstring Saturday and needs at least a couple weeks of down time.

According to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick, the Reds have "picked up the pace on Jay Bruce trade discussions."

Crasnick says the Reds are talking to at least four teams and seeking a top prospect in return. Bruce has revitalized his market value this season, boasting an .889 OPS with 23 home runs and 77 RBI in 93 games. The 29-year-old corner outfielder is scheduled to become a free agent five days after the 2016 World Series.

Cameron Maybin is dealing with an injury to the right side of his rib cage.

A rib popped out and had to be put back in place, per George Sipple of the Detroit Free Press. That explains why Maybin has been absent from the Tigers' starting lineup for the last three games. He did say he's feeling better Tuesday and this doesn't sound like it's going to be a disabled list situation.

Angels recalled LHP Tyler Skaggs from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Skaggs is over the elbow and shoulder troubles that have cost him nearly two years and will make his 2016 debut on Tuesday night in Kansas City. He dominated in his final two minor league rehab starts, racking up a combined 26 strikeouts in 12 2/3 innings for Triple-A Salt Lake. Alex Bregman is at DH and batting sixth Tuesday in his second major league game.

Bregman finished 0-for-4 with two strikeouts Monday in his MLB debut, but he came a few feet short of a grand slam in the sixth inning and looked sharp defensively at third base. He could play left field Wednesday.

Michael Brantley (shoulder) said he is "very confident" he can still impact the Indians this season.

Brantley has been hitting in the cage for the past couple of days and is apparently feeling good. He underwent surgery earlier this month to remove scar tissue from his right biceps tendon, near the right shoulder that required major surgery last November. The star outfielder has been limited to 11 major league games in 2016.

According to FOX Sports' Jon Morosi, the Padres are making progress on an Andrew Cashner trade.

Morosi says a deal could be finalized before Cashner's scheduled start Tuesday night in Toronto. There's known to be interest from the Marlins, Orioles, and Rangers. Cashner, 29, holds a 4.79 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, and 61/27 K/BB ratio in 73 1/3 innings this year with San Diego. He can become a free agent in the offseason.

Orioles activated OF Hyun Soo Kim from the 15-day disabled list.

Kim is starting in left field and batting second Tuesday night against the Rockies after missing the last 15 days with a strained right hamstring. He returns to an impressive .329/.410/.454 batting line.

RotoGrinders.com Daily Slant: Kim slots into a very favorable slot in the order between Jones, Machado, Davis and Trumbo, giving him very nice upside at an affordable price tag across the industry. He's the owner of a .399 wOBA, .135 ISO and 35.0 hard%, not to mention that he has one of the higher average exit velocities on the year at 92.5 MPH. That mark puts him above guys like Edwin Encarnacion, Michael Saunders, Buster Posey and Albert Pujols.

According to ESPN's Buster Olney, the Indians have expressed interest in Eduardo Nunez of the Twins.

Nunez has been in a steady state of regression for a couple of months, but he's still enjoying the best year of his career by far, batting .298/.324/.446 with 12 home runs, 46 RBI, and 24 stolen bases in 88 games. The 29-year-old can also play all around the diamond defensively, which fits well with this current Cleveland roster. Nunez is making $1.48 million in 2016 and carries one more year of arbitration eligibility in 2017.

Bryce Harper will bat second in Tuesday's game against the Indians.

This is the other big change in Washington's lineup on Tuesday. Harper has been the primary No. 3 hitter for most of the year, but he was moved to the cleanup spot earlier this month. Now he'll shift to second as the Nationals try to get him going. He's batting .200/.313/.371 in 83 plate appearances this month. Wilson Ramos will bat third while Jayson Werth will hit cleanup.
Jul 26 - 3:38 PM

Trea Turner will start in center field Tuesday against the Indians.

Turner saw some time in center field in the minors, but this will be his first start at the position in the majors. He should see more time there with Ryan Zimmerman (rib cage) back from the disabled list. Turner is batting leadoff Tuesday while Ben Revere will play left and bat eighth. Jayson Werth is in the DH spot.
Jul 26 - 3:33 PM

Ichiro Suzuki is in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Phillies.

Ichiro, who is four hits away from 3,000 in MLB, will start in center field and bat leadoff against Jerad Eickhoff. Marcell Ozuna will be on the bench.
