Troy Tulowitzki left Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks with a left shoulder strain.

Tulowitzki injured his shoulder on an awkward play at home plate in the first inning. The exact severity of the strain for now is unknown. The 28-year-old shortstop will be reevaluated by team doctors on Monday morning.

Jason Kipnis (finger) is scheduled to make his 2015 Cactus League debut on Saturday.

Kipnis needed surgery in December to repair tendon damage in his left ring finger, but he is expected to be 100 percent by the beginning of the regular season. The 27-year-old second baseman was a disappointment in 2014, but that just makes him a better value in drafts for the 2015 campaign. There's huge fantasy upside here.

Zack Greinke (elbow) is scheduled to throw live batting practice Friday in Dodgers camp.

If it goes well, he will make his Cactus League debut five days later. Greinke received a lubricating injection in his throwing elbow on February 19 and has been free of discomfort since. The right-hander should start the Dodgers' second regular-season game.

Reds manager Bryan Price indicated Thursday that Joey Votto's Cactus League debut is imminent.

"You won't have to hold your breath, I promise you, you won't have to hold your breath for this," Price said. "Just to reiterate, we just went too far into the rehab and made a commitment to do an extensive rehab to do anything before we feel he's ready. I think he's very close and he's champing at the bit to get in there." Votto missed 100 games last season because of a distal quad strain. The 31-year-old first baseman is an excellent bounceback candidate for 2015.

Major League Baseball's decision on a punishment for Josh Hamilton could come as early as next week, per Jon Morosi and Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

The report states that MLB officials believe Hamilton should be suspended for admitting to his offseason cocaine relapse, and are determining whether that would be a 25-game sentence (the recommended length for a first-time offender) or a year-long suspension (designed for fourth-time offenders). The players' union is arguing for only 15 games. Also to be determined is whether Hamilton will be placed into drug rehab, a decision which carries big financial implications. If he is suspended and not in rehab, Hamilton will not be paid. Anaheim owes the 33-year-old slugger $25.4 million in 2015, $32.4 million in 2016, and another $32.4 million in 2017.

Jon Jay (wrist) took batting practice on the field Thursday for the first time this spring.

According to MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch, that puts Jay ahead of schedule in his recovery from offseason wrist surgery. The 30-year-old center fielder is not in danger of missing the start of the regular season. He signed a two-year, $10.975 million contract with the Cardinals in early February that covers his final two years of salary arbitration.

Cubs signed LHP Phil Coke to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Coke drew interest from the Rangers, Royals, and Blue Jays over the last few weeks and reportedly turned down a guaranteed major league contract to compete for a job in Cubs camp. The 32-year-old left-hander posted a 3.88 ERA and 41/20 K/BB ratio in 58 innings last season with the Tigers. He's still pretty effective when used strictly against left-handed hitters, so it's a decent early-spring grab for Chicago. Coke is due to arrive in Cubs camp Friday.

Suk-min Yoon has returned to South Korea.

Yoon scored a three-year, $5.75 million deal from the Orioles last February, but the Korean right-hander posted a rough 5.74 ERA in 95 2/3 innings at the Triple-A level in 2014 and has apparently now ended his pursuit of a major league career. Or at least put it on hold for a bit. The 28-year-old had two years left on his agreement with the O's.

Miguel Cabrera (foot) is running at 72 percent of his body weight on an anti-gravity treadmill.

Once he gets to 80 percent, Cabrera will be cleared to run outside and field groundballs. The veteran slugger has been hitting for weeks in Tigers camp and still has a good shot at making the Opening Day lineup. Cabrera is recovering from October surgery to remove painful bone spurs from his right ankle and repair a stress fracture in his right foot.

Josh Harrison told reporters Thursday morning that his left ankle injury is "a little minor."

Harrison was pulled from Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Blue Jays after rolling his left ankle. But he caught himself before he turned it too severely and should be back in action by early next week. The 2014 National League All-Star will open the 2015 season as the Pirates' starting third baseman.

Dan Haren acknowledged to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman that he is no longer considering retirement.

Haren threatened to hang up his cleats for good back in November if the Dodgers traded him somewhere away from the West Coast, but he didn't follow through with that after being dealt in December to the Marlins. "I'm here," he said from Jupiter, Florida on Wednesday. The veteran right-hander posted a decent 4.02 ERA and 1.18 WHIP with 145 strikeouts in 186 innings last season for Los Angeles and should carry mixed-league fantasy value with Miami.

Byron Buxton went 2-for-3 with two doubles, an RBI, and a run scored in his spring debut Wednesday night against the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Buxton is again generating big-time buzz in Twins camp after appearing in only 31 minor league games last season due to injuries. "With Buxton, it was fun to see him run around like that," manager Paul Molitor told reporters after Wednesday's 3-1 win. The 21-year-old top outfield prospect could very well make his major league debut in late 2015.
