Mat Latos is nursing some tightness in his right hip.

Latos had to exit Monday's start a tad early due to the ailment. The Reds don't think he'll need to miss a start, but he'll be monitored over the next few days. "He'll get an extra day before he has to throw on the side," pitching coach Bryan Price said. "It'll be a good indicator on where he's at. He's had a little bit of hamstring and calf tightness that he's worked through. If this is an issue, we'll handle it as needed. At this point in time, no one is even thinking twice about him missing a start or being limited in any way."

An MRI on Jesse Hahn's ailing right triceps came back negative.

He's still going to be placed on the disabled list, but it looks like Hahn has avoided a serious injury. The right-hander was hurt during Tuesday's start versus the Marlins. It's unclear at this point how long he might be sidelined.

Yoenis Cespedes (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A St. Lucie on Friday.

Cespedes will likely remain with St. Lucie through the weekend before being activated on Monday when the Mets return home, assuming all goes well. He's been out since late April with a strained hamstring.
May 26 - 4:59 PM

Manuel Margot (calf) was wearing a walking boot on his right leg Friday and is expected to be placed on the disabled list.

Margot is out of the lineup for a second straight game due to a sore right calf and he's likely to officially be placed on the DL this weekend. It's unclear at this point how much time he might miss. Allen Cordoba is in center field Friday.
May 26 - 4:50 PM

J.A. Happ (elbow) could rejoin the Blue Jays' rotation as soon as Tuesday versus the Reds.

Happ was touched up for three runs on seven hits over just three innings in a rehab start with High-A Dunedin on Thursday, but the important thing is his elbow felt good. The Blue Jays could still choose to stretch him out more with another rehab outing, but it sounds like there's a good chance he'll be back next week, whether it's the beginning or the end of the week.
May 26 - 4:29 PM

Cameron Maybin (knee) said Friday that he expects to return to the lineup Saturday.

Maybin is sitting out Friday after exiting Thursday's contest with a sore right knee, but it's not considered to be a big deal. He's hitting .240/.362/.363 with three homers and 10 steals this season.
May 26 - 4:11 PM

Kendall Graveman was scratched from Friday's start versus the Yankees due to right shoulder soreness.

Graveman was on the disabled list last month with a strained shoulder and it appears it's acting up on him again. He hasn't officially be placed on the DL yet, but that will likely happen Saturday. Jharel Cotton is taking his spot in the rotation.
May 26 - 3:52 PM

Gary Sanchez is not in the Yankees' lineup Friday.

It looks to be a regular day of rest. Austin Romine will do the catching.
May 26 - 3:42 PM

Blue Jays activated SS Troy Tulowitzki from the 10-day disabled list.

The Jays also activated Josh Donaldson on Friday, so they have the left side of their infield back. Tulowitzki missed five weeks of action with a strained right hamstring.
May 26 - 3:41 PM

Dustin Pedroia (knee) is not in the Red Sox' lineup Friday.

Pedroia's removal from Thursday's game with a sore left knee was deemed precautionary, but the club has decided to rest him for at least one start. Josh Rutledge is at second base.

The first game of Friday's doubleheader between the Tigers and White Sox has been postponed due to rain.

The nightcap is still scheduled to be played, but they'll now try for a doubleheader on Saturday. Buck Farmer and Mike Pelfrey had been slated to start the afternoon game. Farmer will be moved to Saturday, while Pelfrey will take the ball Friday night.
May 26 - 3:11 PM
