Andy Pettitte (trapezius) will play catch either Thursday or Friday.

It will be the first time he's thrown since landing on the DL last week with a strained trapezius muscle. "Then we’ll do some long toss, a bullpen and hopefully work it up to a simulated game," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. Pettitte is expected back on June 1, the first day he's eligible, or shortly after that.

David Price pitched eight scoreless innings, holding the Blue Jays to just five hits, and the Rays prevailed 3-0 on Sunday.

Price's start was moved back a day due to illness, but he showed no ill effects in earning his ninth win. The southpaw walked one while striking out five, rattling off his fifth win in his last six decisions. The strong string of starts leaves him with a 3.23 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 164/21 K/BB ratio through 20 starts. Trade rumors will continue to swirl around him in the coming weeks, but Price should continue to be fantastic -- wherever he's pitching -- in the second half.

Jasyon Werth went 2-for-3 with a homer and four RBI in the Nationals' 10-3 stomping of the Phillies on Sunday.

Werth kicked off the game's scoring with a three-run homer against Phillies starter Kyle Kendrick in the top of the first inning. He then added an RBI single in the top of the ninth. The veteran outifelder has been hitting the ball with authority in July -- especially with runners in scoring position -- and will try to keep the fun rolling after the All-Star break.

Jacob deGrom fired seven innings of one-run ball Sunday in the Mets' 9-1 rout of the Marlins.

DeGrom struck out eight batters and allowed only five Miami hits over his seven frames. It was yet another impressive showing from the 26-year-old left-hander, who will finish the first half with a 3.18 ERA and 72/28 K/BB ratio in 73 2/3 innings. He's still available in 77 percent of Yahoo fantasy leagues.

Trevor Bauer notched a career-high 10 strikeouts while tossing 6 2/3 shutout innings but took a no-decision in the Indians' 3-2 win over the White Sox Sunday.

He gave up eight hits and walked three, getting removed after 117 pitches following a two-out single by Jose Abreu in the seventh. Bauer has been up-and-down since the beginning of June but finishes the first half having allowed just two earned runs over his last two outings. He’ll bring a 3.84 ERA with 70 strikeouts over 72 2/3 innings into the All-Star break.

Tim Hudson has been added to the National League All-Star team.

He's replacing teammate Madison Bumgarner, who is starting on Sunday. Hudson is a worthy addition, having posted a 2.87 ERA and 1.10 WHIP over 18 starts during the first half. It will be his fourth All-Star appearance.

Alfredo Simon has been added to the National League All-Star team.

He's replacing teammate Johnny Cueto, who started on Sunday. We'd rather see someone like Stephen Strasburg make it, but Simon has had a great first half with a 2.70 ERA and 1.05 WHIP.
Jul 13 - 1:48 PM

Tyler Clippard has been added to the National League All-Star team.

He's taking the roster spot of Julio Teheran, who is starting on Sunday. There are others that are more deserving, but there's no doubt Clippard has had a great year, posting a 2.03 ERA with 53 strikeouts over 40 innings.

Rockies activated LHP Brett Anderson from the 60-day disabled list.

Anderson will make his return to the Rockies' rotation on Sunday against the Twins after missing three months with a fractured left index finger. Fantasy owners should probably give him a start or two to knock the rust off.

Cliff Lee (elbow) is on track to rejoin the Phillies' rotation on July 21 versus the Giants.

He originally had been pegged for a July 19 return, but the Phils will apparently give him a couple extra days. Lee will make what will be his final rehab start at High-A Clearwater on Monday, provided he doesn't have a setback. He has allowed three runs over six innings in his first two rehab outings.
Jul 13 - 12:07 PM

Dan Uggla has been suspended by the Braves for one game.

There's no official word on what the suspension is for, but David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution is hearing it's for tardiness. It was O'Brien that reported Uggla could be designated for assignment, but evidently the club isn't ready to make that move yet. Uggla has received just 20 at-bats since May 23 and has one hit over that time.

Derek Holland (knee) isn't expected to rejoin the Rangers' rotation until late August or early September.

Holland hasn't been shy about saying that he thinks he's ready to return now, but the Rangers are proceeding extra cautiously with the left-hander. He's been sent to the team's spring training facility and will throw three more live batting practice sessions before being re-evaluated. It's possible he'll begin a rehab assignment after that. "That is the way we planned it right now," pitching coach Mike Maddux said. "When you put stuff on paper, you’re conservative. If he accelerates it, that’s good. But we don’t want to do too much too soon and have a setback. There is a difference between throwing on the side and throwing in game conditions. You can’t simulate game conditions."
