Nick Swisher's nagging left shoulder injury could force him to the disabled list.

Swisher has been battling the ailment all season and aggravated it during Saturday's game. He's in a 6-for-55 slump, which no doubt is due in part to the injury. "I've been battling this shoulder thing the whole year. It's super frustrating for me because I've never had something like this," he said. "Either way, we have to figure out what is going on and then we will go from there."

Madison Bumgarner (shoulder) will move his rehab assignment up to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday.

Bumgarner tossed three hitless innings for the Giants' Arizona Rookie League team on Sunday. The ace has made a swift recovery from a sprained AC joint in his left shoulder and is looking like he might be ready for activation just after the All-Star break.
Jun 26 - 8:18 PM

Eduardo Nunez (hamstring) could be activated from the disabled list when first eligible on Friday.

Nunez was finally placed on the DL over the weekend after trying to play through a strained hamstring for a while. However, the Giants clearly don't think he's need much more down time. Ryder Jones has been filling in at third base.
Jun 26 - 8:14 PM

Dodgers placed RHP Brandon McCarthy on the 10-day disabled list with right knee tendinitis.

McCarthy spent time on the DL earlier this season with a knee issue, as well, but this move could be in response to him having a bit of the "yips" during Sunday's start versus the Rockies. Either way, he's expected back when first eligible or shortly after. Kenta Maeda should get at least one additional start now after Tuesday's scheduled outing.
Jun 26 - 7:55 PM

Corey Seager (hamstring) did some running in the outfield prior to Monday's game.

He wasn't running quite at full speed, but it's nice to hear regardless. Seager will sit out again Monday and might miss a few more days of action, but it's looking at this point like he should avoid a trip to the disabled list.
Jun 26 - 7:11 PM

Brandon Finnegan exited Monday's start against the Cardinals with a left triceps strain.

Finnegan was making his first start back from the disabled list after missing 10 weeks with a strained trapezius muscle. It's unclear at this point how serious of an injury it might be, but obviously it's discouraging news. The Reds should have more on his status after the game.
Jun 26 - 7:08 PM

Matt Holliday has been sent for tests due to fatigue.

He's out of the lineup Monday for the second straight day and not available off the bench, either. Holliday was hitless in his last 11 at-bats before missing the two games. The Yankees could offer an update on the slugger later Monday. Gary Sanchez is in the designated hitter spot and Austin Romine is catching Monday.
Jun 26 - 6:58 PM

Rockies placed OF Carlos Gonzalez on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to June 23, with a right shoulder strain.

It's his non-throwing shoulder, but it's something that's been nagging at him and the Rockies decided it was best to go ahead and DL him. How long CarGo will be sidelined isn't known at this point. Raimel Tapia is in line for regular playing time while Gonzalez is out and is worth scooping up in fantasy leagues.
Jun 26 - 6:44 PM

Rays acquired SS Adeiny Hechavarria from the Marlins in exchange for RHP Ethan Clark and OF Braxton Lee.

The deal was reported earlier Monday and is now official. Tampa will cover the rest of what remains of $4.35 million salary for this season, which is why they gave up very little in the deal. Hechavarria is a career .255/.291/.337 hitter, but he's an elite defender and is under team control through 2018. He'll remain on the disabled list for now but should be activated later this week.
Jun 26 - 6:28 PM

Carlos Rodon (biceps) will make his 2017 debut with the White Sox on Wednesday versus the Yankees.

It's the day he'd been speculated to pitch and the club has made it official. Rodon posted a 10.06 ERA and walked nine over 17 innings on his rehab assignment, although he did strike out 17 over 17 innings. Especially given the tough first matchup, fantasy owners should probably keep the southpaw benched for now.
Jun 26 - 5:18 PM

Starlin Castro (wrist) is back in the Yankees' lineup MOnday.

Castro unavailable on Sunday after receiving a cortisone shot in his ailing right wrist, an injury that's bothered him for six weeks. He'll tape the wrist up and attempt to gut it out.
Jun 26 - 5:15 PM

Hanley Ramirez is day-to-day with a sore left knee.

Ramirez was hit by a pitch Sunday and that's the reason he was scratched from Monday's lineup. He should be back in there in a day or two.
