Mets prospect catcher Travis d'Arnaud (foot) has been cleared to begin running.

Excellent news for d'Arnaud, who has been sidelined since mid-April with a broken bone in his left foot. The 24-year-old backstop is expected to return to game action within 3-4 weeks and should make his major league debut at some point during the second half.

Rays acquired SS Adeiny Hechavarria from the Marlins in exchange for RHP Ethan Clark and OF Braxton Lee.

The deal was reported earlier Monday and is now official. Tampa will cover the rest of what remains of $4.35 million salary for this season, which is why they gave up very little in the deal. Hechavarria is a career .255/.291/.337 hitter, but he's an elite defender and is under team control through 2018. He'll remain on the disabled list for now but should be activated later this week.
Jun 26 - 6:28 PM

Brandon Finnegan was lifted from Monday's start versus the Cardinals with an apparent injury.

Making his first start for the Reds since mid-April, Finnegan grimaced while delivering an offering to the leadoff hitter in the bottom of the fourth inning. After a talk with the trainer and manager Bryan Price, Finnegan walked off the field without throwing a warm-up pitch. Cincy should have an update on the lefty soon. Finnegan struggled before being pulled, allowing three runs on three hits and four walks over three-plus frames.
Jun 26 - 5:30 PM

Carlos Rodon (biceps) will make his 2017 debut with the White Sox on Wednesday versus the Yankees.

It's the day he'd been speculated to pitch and the club has made it official. Rodon posted a 10.06 ERA and walked nine over 17 innings on his rehab assignment, although he did strike out 17 over 17 innings. Especially given the tough first matchup, fantasy owners should probably keep the southpaw benched for now.
Jun 26 - 5:18 PM

Starlin Castro (wrist) is back in the Yankees' lineup MOnday.

Castro unavailable on Sunday after receiving a cortisone shot in his ailing right wrist, an injury that's bothered him for six weeks. He'll tape the wrist up and attempt to gut it out.
Jun 26 - 5:15 PM

Hanley Ramirez is day-to-day with a sore left knee.

Ramirez was hit by a pitch Sunday and that's the reason he was scratched from Monday's lineup. He should be back in there in a day or two.
Jun 26 - 4:42 PM

Nomar Mazara (forearm) has returned to the Rangers' starting lineup Monday versus the Indians.

Mazara sat out Saturday and Sunday with a bruised right forearm from being hit by a pitch from Aroldis Chapman, but fortunately it's not a long-term issue. He'll bat third in his return.
Jun 26 - 3:44 PM

Willson Contreras will hit leadoff Monday against the Nationals.

Cubs manager Joe Maddon is trying something different with left-hander Gio Gonzalez on the hill for Washington. To his credit, Contreras has been much better against southpaws than against right-handers this season. Anthony Rizzo has been hitting leadoff recently, but he'll slide down to the No. 2 spot on Monday.

RotoGrinders.com Daily Slant: Joe Maddon's lineup shuffle bodes well for Contreras and Javier Baez, both of whom find themselves in prime spots at very reasonable price tags across the industry. Tonight's slate features a bevy of high-end SPs despite just six games on the docket, so taking the value with Contreras and Baez makes sense in any format. Contreras has his best hard hit rate during the month of June (36.2%) and also owns his lowest ground-ball rate of the season over that span. Baez has flashed his typical power against LHP, sporting a .283 ISO against southpaws to this point.
Jun 26 - 3:41 PM

Joey Gallo (hamstring) has returned to the Rangers' starting lineup Monday against the Indians.

Gallo missed back-to-back starts over the weekend with hamstring soreness, but he's apparently feeling better. He'll bat ninth against Carlos Carrasco.
Jun 26 - 3:27 PM

Rangers activated LHP Cole Hamels from the 10-day disabled list.

Hamels, out since early May with a right oblique strain, allowed one run in 8 2/3 innings with eight strikeouts and two walks through two minor league rehab starts. He'll make his return to the Rangers' rotation Monday against the Indians.
Jun 26 - 3:22 PM

Indians activated OF Michael Brantley from the 10-day disabled list.

Brantley was able to return from his right ankle sprain as soon as he was eligible. The 30-year-old returns to a .296/.360/.432 batting line with five homers and seven steals through 54 games this season.
Jun 26 - 3:10 PM

Billy Hamilton is not in Monday's lineup against the Cardinals.

He's presumably getting a day of rest. Patrick Kivlehan will handle center field duties and bat eighth. Jose Peraza is hitting leadoff.
