Ryan Vogelsong had all five pins removed from his surgically-repaired right hand on Tuesday.

That's good news for Vogelsong, who originally expected to only have two or three pins removed. He'll now have the ability to perform more mobility and flexibility exercises, some of them earlier than expected. As of now, the Giants are hoping to get Vogelsong back near the end of July.

J.J. Hardy (hamstring) is not in the Orioles' starting lineup on Monday against the Red Sox.

Hardy suffered a mild strain of his right hamstring in Sunday night's game at Fenway Park and will sit out of Monday's early Patriots' Day tilt. The Orioles believe he will avoid a trip to the 15-day disabled list. The full Baltimore lineup for Monday: DH Nick Markakis, RF Nelson Cruz, 1B Chris Davis, CF Adam Jones, C Steve Clevenger, 3B Jonathan Schoop, SS Ryan Flaherty, 2B Steve Lombardozzi, LF David Lough. Wei-Yin Chen is the starting pitcher.

Ryan Howard went 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Sunday's 10-9 win over the Rockies.

The game was an absolute slugfest, and Howard provided plenty of punch. The first baseman hit a two-run homer in the third inning before legging out his first triple of the season in the sixth inning. He finished with three runs scored in the game. It was Howard's first four-hit game since July 30, 2011.
Apr 20 - 9:44 PM

Justin Morneau went 2-for-4 with a home run and five RBI in Sunday's loss to the Phillies.

Morneau got it done in a number of different ways, singling in a run in the first inning, producing an RBI groundout in the third and lifting a sacrifice fly in the fifth before blasting a two-run homer in the seventh. He's been on an absolute tear lately, mashing three home runs and collecting 12 RBI during a five-game hitting streak. He's up to .344 with a .981 OPS for the season.
Apr 20 - 9:36 PM

Buster Posey hit a two-run home run as the Giants beat the Padres 4-3 on Sunday.

With one runner aboard in the first inning, Posey took Robbie Erlin to deep to center for his fourth homer of the year. It was his only hit on the afternoon, and the catcher is batting an uncharacteristic .238/.314/.444 through the early games. He's got just three RBI in his last eight games.
Apr 20 - 9:07 PM

Yasiel Puig hit a three-run home run en route to a 4-1 win over the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

With two runners on, Puig deposited an 88 mph cutter from Josh Collmenter into the seats in left-center field. It was his only hit of the game, as the Dodgers mustered just five against the right-hander despite going home victorious. Amid plenty of controversy, Puig is batting .241/.349/.426 with two homers thus far.
Apr 20 - 8:43 PM

Josh Donaldson went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in the Athletics' 4-1 win over the Astros on Sunday.

Donaldson hit a two-run blast, his fourth home run of the season, in the first inning. He followed with two doubles in his next three at-bats, including an RBI double in the ninth inning. The 28-year-old scuffled to start the year, but he's proving that his breakout 2013 season was no fluke with his recent hitting.
Apr 20 - 8:13 PM

Marcus Semien went 4-for-6 with four RBI as the White Sox crushed the Rangers 16-2 on Sunday.

Semien had four of the Sox' 18 hits and knocked in four of the team's 16 runs as they pounded Robbie Ross and the Rangers bullpen. Semien's big damage came on a bases-loaded triple in the sixth inning, his first triple of the year. Semien is talented but hasn't hit for a high average thus far, and his at-bats could be cut into when Gordon Beckham returns.
Apr 20 - 7:49 PM

Carlos Gonzalez was removed from Sunday's contest against the Phillies due to left knee tendinitis.

Gonzalez, who has been no stranger to knee injuries in the past, is considered day-to-day. Fantasy owners should monitor this situation closely and make sure to have another outfielder available in the event that CarGo misses a few games to begin the week.
Apr 20 - 7:41 PM

Zack Cozart went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI as the Reds topped the Cubs 8-2 on Sunday.

Cozart hit his first home run of the year, a two-run shot, off Cubs reliever Jose Veras in a three-run seventh inning. He previously swatted an RBI double in the fourth inning, coming around to score on a Homer Bailey single. He's one of the worst-hitting everyday players in baseball, but Cozart still has enough pop to be dangerous on a given day.
Apr 20 - 7:20 PM

Carlos Beltran went 2-for-6 with two RBI in the Yankees' 5-1, 12-inning victory over the Rays on Sunday.

Dean Anna plated the winning run with a bases-loaded walk, but Beltran put the cherry on top with a two-run single immediately after. The single gives him 11 RBI on the season, and Beltran's .561 slugging percentage is sixth in the American League.
Apr 20 - 7:01 PM

Khris Davis' 14th-inning home run gave the Brewers a 3-2 win over the Pirates on Sunday.

Davis had three hits on the day, but none were bigger than his solo shot off Jeanmar Gomez. The home run was Davis' first of the season after smacking 11 in 136 at-bats last season, but his power is undoubted.
