Manny Ramirez's agent, Barry Praver, told FOX Sports' Jon Paul Morosi Wednesday that his client would like to return to Major League Baseball.

Ramirez has been taken off the roster of the EDA Rhinos of the Chinese Professional Baseball League after batting .352/.422/.555 with eight home runs and 43 RBI in 206 plate appearances. There's been speculation that the 41-year-old could go to Japan, but his first choice would surely be to return to the states. Whether anyone would have interest in him remains to be seen.

Jose Urena was outstanding in Friday's victory over the Cubs, scattering five hits over six shutout innings.

The right-hander walked three and struck out three on the night. He has been great through 14 starts for the Fish, compiling a 6-2 record, 3.33 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 44/27 K/BB ratio across 70 1/3 innings. He'll look to replicate this fine performance when he does battle against the Mets on Thursday.

Howie Kendrick was scratched from the Phillies' lineup on Friday due to hamstring tightness.

The veteran utilityman is considered day-to-day. Andres Blanco is starting at second base for the Phillies against Patrick Corbin and the Diamondbacks.
Jun 23 - 8:57 PM

Asdrubal Cabrera is starting at second base on Friday against the Giants.

The veteran infielder isn't happy about the switch back to a position that he hasn't played since September of 2014. In fact, he's now hoping to be traded. The .193-hitting Jose Reyes is starting at shortstop and batting eighth for the Mets on Friday.
Jun 23 - 7:36 PM

Julio Urias will undergo surgery to repair the left anterior capsule in his pitching shoulder.

The surgery will be performed by Dr. Neal El Attrache. It's a major procedure which will keep him sidelined for 12-14 months. Urias might not be a factor again until well into the second half next year. Brutal news for the 20-year-old.
Jun 23 - 7:21 PM

Dustin Pedroia (ribs) has been added to the Red Sox' lineup.

He had been slated to miss a fourth straight start after he was hit in the ribs by a pitch Sunday, but Pedroia apparently talked his way in there. He's at second base and batting second versus Alex Meyer and the Angels.
Jun 23 - 5:39 PM

Kyle Hendricks (hand) could resume playing catch as soon as Saturday or Sunday.

Hendricks has been shut down for the last two weeks with tendinitis in his right hand, but it appears the soreness has abated to a certain degree. Obviously, if he does play catch this weekend it would be the first step in a throwing progression, so he's still a little ways away. A return before the All-Star break looks unlikely.
Jun 23 - 5:38 PM

Padres placed INF Yangervis Solarte on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to June 21 with a right oblique strain.

It weakens an already feeble Padres offense. Jose Pirela should handle the bulk of the second base duties, with Chase d'Arnaud and Carlos Asuaje also in the mix.
Jun 23 - 5:28 PM

Mariners activated RHP Felix Hernandez from the 10-day disabled list.

Hernandez will rejoin the Mariners' rotation on Friday against the Astros. King Felix pitched well in his last two rehab outings, but he held a 4.73 ERA prior to going on the DL and faces a stiff test in his first start back. Fantasy owners would be wise to keep him benched initially.
Jun 23 - 5:23 PM

Cole Hamels (oblique) is on track to rejoin the Rangers' rotation on Monday in Cleveland.

That's assuming things go as planned during his bullpen session Friday. Hamels allowed just one run while striking out eight over 8 2/3 innings in two rehab starts, going 5 2/3 frames and throwing 81 pitches in his final outing Wednesday. The veteran lefty should be ready for close to a full workload versus the Tribe. Hamels has been out since early May with a strained right oblique.
Jun 23 - 5:18 PM

Yadier Molina was scratched from the Cardinals' lineup Friday due to a sore knee.

Molina's knee flared up after it was hit by a foul tip Thursday. He should be back in there in a day or two. Eric Fryer will do the catching Friday.
Jun 23 - 5:13 PM

Tigers released RHP Francisco Rodriguez.

Rodriguez was removed from the closer role in early May and hasn't been any better in a less demanding job, ultimately posting a 7.82 ERA over 28 appearances this season. The 35-year-old was pretty good for the Tigers in 2016 and shouldn't be out of a job long, but it's certainly possible that his days as an effective reliever are over.
