Nolan Arenado delivered a walkoff RBI single Saturday in the Rockies' 2-1 win over the Giants.

It was a 1-1 game heading into the bottom of the ninth inning. Todd Helton drew a two-out walk, then Josh Rutledge came on as a pinch runner and stole second base. Arenado was the next batter and drove a ball to center field to bring Rutledge home. The 22-year-old third baseman has seven home runs and 24 RBI in his first 58 major league games and Colorado is only two games back in the National League West.

Julio Urias will not be on the Dodgers' Opening Day roster.

Urias is starting on Tuesday and will remain with the Dodgers for their upcoming freeway series against the Angels. The young left-hander will bide his time in the minors until a spot opens up for him in the big league rotation. Urias is likely to open the year in extended spring training after logging just 5 2/3 innings in the Cactus League this spring.

Julio Urias will not be on the Dodgers' Opening Day roster.

Urias is starting on Tuesday and will remain with the Dodgers for their upcoming freeway series against the Angeles. The young left-hander will bide his time in the minors until a spot opens up for him in the starting rotation. It's possible he could open the year in extended spring training after logging just 5 2/3 innings in the Cactus League this spring.

Reds claimed 2B Scooter Gennett off waivers from the Brewers.

The Brewers decided they didn't need Gennett anymore with Jonathan Villar moving to second base full time this year. Gennett will give the Reds some infield depth behind starters Zack Cozart, Eugenio Suarez, and Jose Peraza. Cozart could be shopped at some point, which could open up a spot for Gennett as the team's everyday shortstop. The 26-year-old set career-highs with 14 homers, 56 RBI and eight steals last season.

Jhoulys Chacin will start Opening Day for the Padres.

Well, that is something. The Padres could have one of the worst rotations we've seen in a long time, so Chacin is the best option on the board. He'll be followed by Clayton Richard and Jered Weaver. The Padres have yet to make a final decision beyond that, but we will likely see plenty of names shuffled in and out all year.

Carlos Rodon (biceps) was diagnosed with bursitis after an MRI showed no structural damage.

The initial MRI on Rodon's left biceps showed no structural damage, so this test confirms the original diagnosis. The plan calls for him to go on a throwing program for the next two weeks before being re-evaluated. He'll go on the disabled list, but it's possible he could be ready at some point in the early part of the year.

Indians signed INF/OF Jose Ramirez to a five-year, $26 million extension.

The agreement was reported late last week and it's now official. The extension includes two club options at $11 million (2022) and $13 million (2023), so the deal could max out at $50 million. Ramirez is coming off a breakout 2016 where he batted .312/.363/.462 with 11 homers, 76 RBI and 22 stolen bases over 152 games.

Carlos Gomez (shoulder) expects to return to Cactus League action on Wednesday.

Gomez jammed his left shoulder a week ago, but he resumed swinging bat on Sunday and is feeling closer to normal. Barring any setbacks, he should be good to go for Opening Day.

Addison Russell (back) hopes to return to Cactus League action on Wednesday.

Russell has been out of action since last Wednesday due to back soreness. He doesn't expect to require a stint on the disabled list, but the situation will warrant monitoring if he isn't ready Wednesday.

Rays acquired OF Peter Bourjos from the White Sox for cash considerations or a player to be named later.

The deal was reported on Monday night and is now official. Bourjos batted just .251/.292/.389 over 123 games with the Phillies last season, but he's a right-handed bat with experience at all three outfield positions. He'll begin the year with a spot on the Rays' bench.

Jim Bowden of ESPN and SiriusXM reports that Angel Pagan is expected to decide within the next 48 hours which team he will sign with.

Bowden hears that the Blue Jays, Giants, Padres, Braves and Tigers have all expressed interest in the veteran outfielder. Pagan has been holding out for a major league contract, although it's unclear if he'll receive one. The veteran outfielder batted .286/.324/.371 with a stolen base for Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic, which Bowden says "certainly helped his value." The 35-year-old batted .277/.331/.418 with 12 homers and 15 stolen bases over 129 games last season with the Giants.

Michael Brantley (shoulder) is scheduled to play in three straight Cactus League games beginning on Tuesday.

It looks to be the last test to see whether Brantley will be ready to play on Opening Day. Things have gone well to this point as Brantley ramps things up. He slugged his first Cactus League home run on Sunday and his surgically-repaired right shoulder has held up. However, the outfielder has run into problems previously with the shoulder when he played in multiple games in a row. We'll know in a few days whether Brantley will be on the Opening Day roster or will need a little more rehab time. Even if he cracks the roster, fantasy owners should count on him being rested a lot early on.
