Marco Scutaro is out of Sunday's lineup due to a back issue.

It's the same thing that bothered him back in April. It doesn't appear at this point that the Giants think Scutaro might need a stint on the disabled list, but it's possible he'll need a few days of rest. Tony Abreu is at second base Sunday.

Eric Thames went 2-for-4 with two homers and four RBI in a loss to the Phillies on Sunday.

Thames also walked. The 35-year-old power-hitter hit a solo shot off of Aaron Nola in the top of the first, and he brought Milwaukee new life with a three-run shot off of Hector Naris in the bottom of the ninth to make it a 10-9 game. He now has 9 homers in just 27 games this year, and his OPS bumps up to .973 in that time frame.
Jun 17 - 6:33 PM

Maikel Franco went 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBI in a 10-9 victory over the Brewers on Sunday.

There was plenty of offense to be found in this one, and Franco provided much of it for the Phillies. His homer was a two-run shot off of Chase Anderson with one out, and it ups his total on the season to nine. He picked up two more RBI on a single in the seventh, giving the third baseman 36 on the season. Franco's overall line of .247/.292/.424 still leaves a lot to be desired, but because of his bat speed, he's capable of games like this. There just haven't been enough over the past few seasons.
Jun 17 - 6:19 PM

Nicholas Castellanos went 1-for-3 with a homer in a 3-1 victory over the White Sox on Sunday.

Castellanos also walked. The homer was a two-run shot off of James Shields in the first inning, and it gave Blaine Hardy and the Tigers pitching staff all the run support it would need. It's been a strong season for the infielder-turned-outfielder, and he now has nine homers to go along with a .310/.353/.502 line on the 2018 season over 70 games.
Jun 17 - 5:50 PM

Eugenio Suarez went 1-for-5 with a two-run homer to help the Reds to an 8-6 victory on Sunday over the Pirates.

The homer came off of Joe Musgrove, and it gives the underrated third baseman 14 on the season. Somewhat quietly, Suarez now has his line on the year up to .297/.384/.569, and the 14 homers and 52 RBI are more impressive when you remember he missed a couple of weeks while on the disabled list. He's also homered in back-to-back games, and his hitting streak extends to eight.
Jun 17 - 5:34 PM

Hector Rondon earned his fourth save Sunday in the Astros' series finale against the Royals.

Ken Giles worked the eighth inning in this one, to give you an idea of where the Astros' bullpen roles currently stand. Rondon has bullrushed his way into the closer role with a dominant 1.38 ERA and 31/6 K/BB ratio in 26 total innings this season. He hasn't allowed a run in over a month. Giles is still worth owning, and so is Chris Devenski, but Rondon appears to be the preferred ninth-inning man right now for manager A.J. Hinch.
Jun 17 - 5:17 PM

Julio Teheran pitched six no-hit innings while striking out 11 in a 4-1 victory over the Padres on Sunday.

Teheran did walk three, and his 95 pitches through six innings made it impossible for him to finish the no-no, especially considering it was his first start off the disabled list. Nevertheless, it’s still a dominating effort from the right-hander, and the Padres were unable to do anything with him while Teheran showed the stuff that made him one of the most intriguing young starters not long ago. The effort lower’s Teheran’s ERA to 3.97 on the season, and he’s now struck out 67 hitters over 77 innings over 14 starts. He’ll look to continue this into his next start, but that has yet to be scheduled. It likely comes at the end of the weekend against the Orioles or next Monday against the Reds.
Jun 17 - 5:12 PM

Carlos Correa went 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBI in the Astros' 7-4 win over the Royals on Sunday.

Correa opened the game's scoring with an RBI single in the top of the first, belted a solo homer in the top of the eighth, and tallied his third RBI of the afternoon on a run-scoring sac fly in the top of the ninth. The 23-year-old shortstop boasts an .855 OPS, 13 home runs, and 47 RBI in 245 at-bats this season for the defending-champion Astros, who have rattled off 11 straight victories -- 10 of them on the road. It's the second-longest winning streak in franchise history.
Jun 17 - 5:07 PM

Michael Taylor stole four bases and scored two runs on three hits in a loss to the Blue Jays on Sunday.

Taylor had the green light early and often against Toronto, and the four steals upped his season total to 21 on the season on 23 attempts. It's also nice to see the right-hander have some hits drop, although the three hits only raise his season average to .236. Still, with the four steals the athletic outfielder is on pace to steal 50 bases, and his ability to swipe makes him fantasy relevant.
Jun 17 - 5:02 PM

Randal Grichuk hit a pair of homers and drove in four runs in an 8-6 victory over the Nationals on Sunday.

Grichuk also singled and walked, so this was a big day for the young outfielder. Both homers were solo shots, with one coming off of Tanner Roark and the other off of Shawn Kelley. He now has seven on the season, and the big day helps Grichuk up his slash to .196/.276/.429. That line doesn't illustrate how well he's been playing as of late, however, as he was hitting just .146 on June 7.
Jun 17 - 4:55 PM

Justin Bour went 2-for-5 with two homers and drove in four runs in a loss to the Orioles on Sunday.

Bour provided the offense for the Marlins on Sunday, hitting a pair of two-run homers off of Dylan Bundy that bring his total on the season to 12. His batting average sits at .240, but his .367 on-base percentage remains strong, and he's driven in 33 runs over 70 games with the Marlins in 2018.
Jun 17 - 4:47 PM

Mark Trumbo went 3-for-5 with a homer to help the Orioles to a 10-4 victory over the Marlins on Sunday.

Trumbo also doubled, and he drove in two while scoring three runs. The homer came off of Merandy Gonzalez in the seventh, and it gives the veteran slugger four on the 2018 season. Injuries have limited Trumbo to just 37 games, and he hasn't shown much consistency thus far this year as seen in his .261/.320/420 line.
