Rockies acquired RHP Armando Galarraga from the Reds for RHP Parker Frazier.

Galarraga had posted a promising 2.98 ERA and 62/34 K/BB ratio through 84 2/3 innings (16 starts) this season for the Reds' Triple-A affiliate in Louisville, Kentucky. He will have an easier path back to the majors with the Rockies than he would've with the Reds, but that doesn't necessarily mean the 31-year-old right-hander is destined to pitch in the bigs this year. He was assigned to the Rockies' Triple-A affiliate in Colorado Springs.

Brett Gardner scored the tying run in the ninth inning before hitting a walk-off homer in the 11th to give the Yankees a 6-5 win over the Rays on Thursday.

Gardner had a relatively quiet night before he stepped to the plate to lead off the ninth inning. In that at-bat, he slapped a triple into the left-center gap, eventually scoring the game-tying run later in the inning. He then stepped in to lead off the 11th inning and ripped a pitch over the right field wall to commence the celebration. The 33-year-old now has a career-high 18 homers to go with 46 RBI, 66 runs scored and 13 steals. He's batting .261/.353/.465 after Thursday's fireworks.

According to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, the Yankees' trade talks for Sonny Gray have stalled because the Athletics are seeking one of either Clint Frazier or Gleyber Torres.

That's a deal breaker for the Yankees, who are telling teams that Frazier and Torres are both off limits. The A's are also said to have interest in Estevan Florial, James Kaprielian and Jorge Mateo, though only as part of a package also featuring Frazier or Torres. If the stalemate continues, the Yankees could jump into the Yu Darvish sweepstakes and New York has also expressed interest in Lance Lynn and Jaime Garcia. Gray is still likely to be traded before Monday's deadline but he's not going to the Yankees unless the A's lower their asking price.

J.D. Martinez hit a grand slam that accounted for all the scoring in the Diamondbacks' 4-0 win over the Cardinals on Thursday.

Martinez continued his welcome tour through the National League with Thursday's stop in St. Louis, in which he smacked a Luke Weaver offering over the right field wall for the grand slam in the game's fourth inning. Since joining the Diamondbacks, Martinez now has four homers and 11 RBI in six games, one of which was merely a pinch-hitting appearance. The 29-year-old has 20 homers and 50 RBI in 63 games overall, and should keep putting up big numbers as his scorched-earth tour marches on through his new league.

According to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand, if the Dodgers are willing to offer OF prospect Alex Verdugo in a trade, Yu Darvish is "probably going to L.A."

Things seem to be heating up on the Darvish front now that the Rangers are officially shopping him. Per Feinsand, the Astros probably wouldn't bite on a rental while the Nats, who just lost Stephen Strasburg to an elbow injury, are not in the running for Darvish. The Dodgers, however, are known to covet the right-hander, though acquiring Darvish would likely cost them their best prospect. Verdugo was held out of the lineup at Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, though the Dodgers are claiming it was a scheduled day off. Verdugo, who has hit .328 across 341 at-bats for OKC this season, is listed at No. 28 on MLB.com's Top 100 prospects.

Zack Godley held the Cardinals scoreless over seven innings in a win Thursday.

The right-hander yielded just four hits, all singles, and walked two while striking out seven in the victory. It was a much-needed turn after a couple of disappointing outings his last two times out. The win was actually his first in over a month despite some decent showings in between, and in 14 starts overall Godley is 4-4 with a 3.06 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 91/27 K/BB ratio over 88 1/3 innings. He'll be tested Wednesday when the Diamondbacks visit the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

Chris O'Grady fired seven shutout innings Thursday, scattering five hits and two walks en route to a 4-1 win over the Reds.

Well, that came out of nowhere. After allowing three runs in each of his first three starts -- and failing to make it out of the sixth inning in any of them -- the southpaw kept the Reds in check all night. He benefited from five strikeouts compared to just the two walks. With Thursday's showing, the 27-year-old owns a 3.68 ERA and 1.41 WHIP in four games. A stiffer test will surely come Tuesday when O'Grady draws the division-rival Nationals.

Kyle Schwarber had a monster night in Thursday's 6-3 win over the White Sox, going 3-for-4 with a triple, two home runs and four RBI.

Schwarber gave the Cubs a 3-1 lead with his two-run home run off Mike Pelfrey in the fourth inning. That was just the start of his big night. He would next come through with an RBI triple in the sixth inning before capping his evening's work off with a solo homer in the eighth. Schwarber was hitting just .168 on July 6, but that batting average has crept its way up to .191 with Thursday's three-hit showing. He also has 17 homers and has driven in 36 runs.

Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports the Nationals have scouted Trevor Rosenthal.

They've also been scouting outfielder Tommy Pham. Rosenthal has had his ups and downs, but he's pitched much better of late (1.93 ERA in July) and boasts an impressive 13.85 K/9 over 39 innings this year. He' be a solid add for a Washington bullpen that remains a work in progress. The 27-year-old is under contract through 2018.

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports the Rangers have informed teams that they're looking to move Yu Darvish before Monday's trade deadline.

Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reported earlier tonight that the Rangers were still deciding whether or not to deal Darvish. Apparently that decision has now been made and the Rangers are actively shopping the ace right-hander. With Clayton Kershaw (back) facing a lengthy absence, the Dodgers are sure to add an arm at the deadline and Darvish may very well be their preferred target. The Cubs, who recently took over first in the NL Central, have also checked in on Darvish, although they're one of the teams on his no-trade list. We could be looking at an all-out fire sale in Texas with relievers Jeremy Jeffress and Keone Kela also drawing trade interest.

According to USA Today's Bob Klapisch, the Yankees are "leading the pack" in trade talks with Sonny Gray.

That's been the case for a few days now, though no deal is imminent and Klapisch is hearing the sides are "a long way" from the finish line. Gray is under team control through 2019, which is obviously very appealing to the Yankees with CC Sabathia and possibly Masahiro Tanaka (he has an opt-out) coming off the books this winter. The Yankees also covet Yonder Alonso, which could make a deal more complicated as Oakland's asking price will obviously be much higher with Alonso involved. Whether it's the Yankees or another team, Gray will almost certainly be wearing a new uniform by July 31.
Jul 27 - 9:49 PM

According to MLB Network's Jon Morosi, the Diamondbacks are among teams interested in Brandon Kintzler.

The Twins have quickly become sellers and Kintzler should be among the most coveted relievers leading up to Monday's trade deadline. Despite a low strikeout rate, the 32-year-old ranks second in the American League with 27 saves. Boston is looking for relief help with setup man Joe Kelly on the disabled list while the D'Backs may be looking for an alternative to closer Fernando Rodney, who has struggled to a 5.23 ERA this year. Left-hander Taylor Rogers would be next in line for saves in Minnesota if Kintzler gets traded.
