Chris Cotillo of MLBDailyDish.com reports that Brad Mills has signed with a Japanese club.

It's not clear who he has signed with, but Mills' days in the Rangers' organization, at least for now, are over. Mills has posted a 3.87 ERA and 1.24 WHIP over 97 2/3 innings at Triple-A Round Rock this season.

Jhonny Peralta (thumb) fielded grounders on Sunday.

It's the first time he's done so since having surgery to repair a torn left thumb ligament. The Cardinals have pegged May 21 as the beginning of Peralta's rehab assignment, putting him on pace to return in early June if all goes well. Aledmys Diaz had a fantastic April and should still play regularly somewhere even after Peralta returns if he keeps hitting. However, Peralta figures to be an everyday player, as well, whether it's at shortstop or third base.

Mike Napoli (neck) remained out of the Indians' lineup Sunday.

He's sat out the last two contests with a stiff neck. Napoli should be fine in a day or two. Carlos Santana is filling in at first base. The Indians are also resting Michael Brantley and Juan Uribe on Sunday, as Rajai Davis is in left field and Jose Ramirez is at third base.

Avisail Garcia (hamstring) is not expected to be ready to play by Tuesday.

Garcia tweaked his hamstring on Friday and is sitting out his second straight game Sunday. It appears he won't be ready after Monday's off day, either, although there hasn't been talk of a disabled list stint yet. Jerry Sands will handle the designated hitter duties while Garcia is out.
May 1 - 12:17 PM

Kris Bryant (ankle) is back in the Cubs' lineup Sunday.

Bryant didn't play Friday and wasn't in Saturday's lineup before the game was rained out after spraining his right ankle Thursday. He's feeling better now, though, and is in left field and batting third Sunday. The Cubs have Tommy La Stella at third base and Jorge Soler on the bench.

Reds placed RHP Raisel Iglesias on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 25, with a right shoulder injury.

Iglesias felt a "pinch" in the shoulder while throwing a bullpen session Friday. It's unclear at this point how long he'll be sidelined, but it's noteworthy that he also dealt with fatigue in his shoulder late last season. Tim Adleman is replacing Iglesias in the Reds' rotation.
May 1 - 11:31 AM

White Sox activated RHP David Robertson from the bereavement list.

Robertson was away from the club for a few days following the death of his father-in-law. Tommy Kahnle has been sent back to Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move.
May 1 - 11:27 AM

Reds manager Bryan Price revealed Sunday that Homer Bailey (elbow) has suffered a "slight setback."

The club doesn't think it's serious, although it's unclear how long this might delay Bailey's return. The Reds are also dealing with a setback for Anthony DeSclafani (oblique) and a shoulder injury to Raisel Iglesias. Bailey had been expected back by mid-May.
May 1 - 11:23 AM

Devin Mesoraco (shoulder) remained out of the Reds' lineup Sunday.

Mesoraco is dealing with some stiffness in his left shoulder, although he's expected back in the lineup soon. Tucker Barnhart is behind the dish again Sunday.

Nick Groke of the Denver Post reports that Major League Baseball is likely to announce their suspension of Jose Reyes this week.

It's been six months since Reyes was arrested in Maui for alleged domestic abuse. The charge has since been dismissed, but MLB still has the power to suspend Reyes as long as they see fit. The suspension is expected to easily exceed the 30-game ban levied against Aroldis Chapman. Reyes' role for the Rockies is up in the air whenever he is reinstated, as Trevor Story has taken hold of the shortstop job.

Joe Panik (groin) remained out of the GI ants' lineup Sunday.

Panik is battling a groin injury and will sit out a second straight contest. Kelby Tomlinson is holding down second base again.
May 1 - 10:59 AM

X-rays on Zach Britton's left ankle came back negative.

Britton is using crutches and in a soft boot on Sunday, but he's feeling much better and expects to avoid the disabled list. The closer still figures to be unavailable for a few games, which means Darren O'Day or possibly Brad Brach or Mychal Givens could receive some save chances.
