Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Phillies are planning to call up prospect third baseman Cody Asche.

That's a strong indication that Michael Young is about to be traded. Asche, 23, is batting .295/.352/.485 with 15 home runs, 68 RBI and 11 stolen bases over 104 games this season with Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He might not hit for a ton of power, but should be relevant in NL-only and deeper mixed fantasy leagues the rest of the way.

Clayton Kershaw shut down the Rockies for seven scoreless innings on three hits as the Dodgers won 14-1 on Saturday.

He struck out six and didn't walk anybody. It was another vintage Kershaw outing. He improved his record to 12-3 with a remarkable 1.65 ERA. He has punched out 168 batters and walked only 10 in 142 innings. He missed a couple months to a back injury but has returned with a vengeance. With the Dodgers likely to clinch a division title before his next turn, it remains to be seen if Kershaw will get another start in the regular season.

Joey Votto went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run and three walks as the Reds downed the Brewers 6-1 on Saturday.

Votto took Brewers starter Taylor Jungmann deep in the first inning for the two-run dong, his 26th of the season. The 33-year-old is hitting .320/.433/.533 with 89 RBI and 94 runs scored -- amazing after he hit .252 with an .832 OPS in the first half -- and he ranks among the league leaders in a number of offensive categories. It's a shame the Reds haven't been able to do more during the height of his brilliance.

Josh Reddick went 3-for-4 with a grand slam, drove in five runs and scored three times to lead the Dodgers over the Rockies on Saturday.

He added a walk as well. The Dodgers were already ahead 10-0 when he hit the grand slam but they all count the same in fantasyland. He has been playing nearly every day of late and has a .281/.346/.407 slash line combined between his games with Oakland and Los Angeles this season. The home run was his 10th of the season to go with 37 RBI and 53 runs scored in 388 at-bats.

Dee Gordon went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs scored in the Marlins' 6-4 win over the Braves on Saturday.

Gordon had no fear for Braves catcher Anthony Recker, walking and stealing second base in the first inning, stealing third base in the third inning and stealing second again an inning later. The three steals give him 26 steals in 74 games this year. His .257/.298/.320 line leaves something to be desired, but the 28-year-old's speed is a fantasy difference-maker and with a full year to work with in 2017, he should once again be among the cream of the crop at second base.
Sep 25 - 12:28 AM

Jayson Werth went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored, and the Nationals beat the Pirates 6-1 on Saturday.

The win, coupled with the Mets' loss to the Phillies, handed the Nationals their third NL East crown in the last five years. The 37-year-old has had a hand in that, hitting 20 homers with 68 RBI and 82 runs scored while batting .249/.337/.422 in 137 games.
Sep 25 - 12:03 AM

Jose Quintana held the Indians to a single run in six innings during Saturday's 8-1 victory.

He struck out only two batters, walked three and gave up six hits to earn the win. He was relieved after throwing an inefficient 103 pitches in his six frames. He advances to 13-11 with a 3.21 ERA after 31 starts. Quintana has recorded 174 strikeouts versus 48 walks in 202 innings. He has been amazingly consistent throughout his five seasons. He has a career 46-45 record and 3.41 ERA in 945 innings.
Sep 24 - 11:58 PM

Wade Miley struck out 11 and fell an out shy of a complete game Saturday, allowing a lone run in the Orioles' 6-1 win over the Diamondbacks.

Miley gave up seven hits without allowing a walk, and the 11 strikeouts were a season high. An RBI double by Brandon Drury with two outs in the ninth ended Miley's night just shy of the complete game, but it was still an impressive turn for the 29-year-old. Miley is 9-13 with a 5.40 ERA in 29 starts overall, and he'll make his final start of the year Friday against the Yankees.
Sep 24 - 11:26 PM

Dustin Pedroia went 2-for-4 with a grand slam to help the Red Sox defeat the Rays 6-4 on Saturday.

The Sox were trailing in the seventh inning when Pedroia stepped to the plate with two outs and the sacks jacked. He unloaded them with his 14th home run of the season, helping them clinch a playoff berth in the process. The homer also gave him his 100th run scored this year, and the 33-year-old is batting .318/.377/.447 with 71 RBI and seven steals through 148 games.
Sep 24 - 10:45 PM

Yu Darvish twirled seven shutout innings Saturday in a win over the Athletics.

He finished with nine strikeouts while limiting the A's to two hits and one walk. Darvish was lights out from the opening pitch. At one point he retired 11 batters in a row with four strikeouts during that stretch. The only hits he allowed were singles. It was a nice bounce-back effort for Darvish after getting pounded for seven runs in his last start, which also came against Oakland. Darvish will toe the rubber one more time before the playoffs Friday against Tampa Bay.
Sep 24 - 8:17 PM

Elvis Andrus clobbered a pair of home runs Saturday in the Rangers' win over the Athletics.

He tied a career-high with four RBI. Andrus was the only offense the Rangers needed in a 5-0 win. Both of his blasts came off A's rookie Raul Alcantara. The 28-year-old is having his best offensive season. His .299 average, eight homers and 68 RBI all represent new career-highs. Saturday was the first multi-homer game of Andrus' career.
Sep 24 - 8:08 PM

Jose Bautista bopped a tie-breaking three-run homer Saturday in a dramatic win over the Yankees.

It wasn't as epic as the famous "bat flip" but it was a worthy sequel and a reminder that Bautista is money when the stakes are highest. Bautista broke a scoreless tie with a righteous blast to left field off Tyler Clippard in the eighth inning. It was one of two hits for Bautista, who also doubled in the second inning. Bautista is rounding into postseason form with two homers over his last three outings. With the victory, the Blue Jays are now a full two games clear of Baltimore and Detroit in the AL Wild Card race.
