Doctors determined after examining Jason Grilli (forearm) Sunday that the reliever is "making quality progress."

Grilli remains shut down from throwing, as he's still receiving treatment for the strained flexor muscle in his right forearm. The closer won't rejoin the Pirates' bullpen until late August, at the earliest.

Sunday's series finale between the Indians and Royals has been suspended in the 10th inning due to inclement weather and will resume on September 22 in Cleveland.

Just before play was suspended, Lonnie Chisenhall delivered a pinch-hit two-out, two-run double in the 10th inning to give the Tribe a 4-2 lead. In the meanwhile, the Royals will remain a 1/2 game ahead of the Tigers in the American League Central.

Aaron Hill went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored to lead the Diamondbacks past the Rockies 6-2 on Sunday.

Hill had an RBI single in the first inning and later contributed an RBI double in the seventh. He also hit his third triple of the season in the win, falling a home run short of the cycle. Despite the big day, Hill has had a season to forget -- he's hitting .244/.284/.373 overall.

Pablo Sandoval went 3-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and three runs scored in the Giants' lopsided 15-5 win over the Brewers on Sunday.

Sandoval had an RBI single in the third inning before lifting a two-run homer in the fifth. The home run was his 15th of the season and his first since August 6. He also tripled and scored in the game, raising his line to .291 with a .775 OPS.

Blue Jays acquired OF John Mayberry from the Phillies for INF Gustavo Pierre.

Mayberry, who has been on a minor league rehab assignment as he recovers from wrist inflammation, has made a career of slugging against left-handers and should find a platoon role with the Blue Jays once healthy.

Hunter Pence had a huge day Sunday, going 4-for-5 with three extra base hits, two RBI and three runs scored against the Brewers.

Pence smacked two doubles and a triple in the win, giving him 10 triples on the year. He's up to 95 runs scored with the three-run effort, second-most in the National League. Pence is also working on a 13-game hitting streak, raising his overall line to .294/.346/.477.

Alex Wood was dominant in Sunday's victory over the Marlins, racking up 12 strikeouts over eight scoreless innings.

Wood scattered just five hits on the afternoon and didn't issue a free pass. Now 10-10 on the season, he owns a terrific 2.92 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 142/38 K/BB ratio over 145 innings. He'll look to keep things rolling when he does battle against these same Marlins in Miami on Saturday.

Hyun-Jin Ryu was stellar in his return to the rotation Sunday, limiting the Padres to four hits and one run in the Dodgers' 7-1 win.

Making his first start since August 13, Ryu gave up two doubles in the first inning but settled down after that. Ryu didn't issue a walk while striking out seven. The left-hander moved to 14-6 with a 3.18 ERA with the victory. He's got another favorable matchup upcoming, meeting up with the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Dustin Ackley went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in the Nationals' 5-3 win over the Mariners on Sunday.

Ackley came through with an RBI single in the third inning before blasting a three-run shot in the fifth. The homer proved to be the game-winning RBI. Ackley has 11 homers on the year, including six home runs, 24 RBI and 19 runs scored in August. He's hitting .260/.307/.414 overall.

Bryce Harper went 3-for-4 with two solo home runs in Sunday's loss to the Mariners.

Harper had three of the Nationals' six hits, with both his homers coming off Mariners starter Hisashi Iwakuma. Harper had a rough July after returning from a thumb injury, but the outfielder hit .279 with seven homers and 15 RBI in August. He should carry that strong production over into the season's final month.

Kolten Wong (head) passed his initial concussion tests on Sunday.

Wong was removed from Sunday's game after crashing his head into the ground while attempting to make a tumbling catch. He will be re-evaluated on Monday, but his chances of avoiding any missed time look strong.

Matt Shoemaker dazzled again Sunday, tossing seven scoreless innings in the Angels' 8-1 win over the A's.

Shoemaker allowed only five singles and didn't walk a batter on the day. The right-hander struck out seven. The win was his fifth straight, moving him to 14-4 with a 3.14 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 115/21 K/BB ratio in 117 2/3 innings. Shoemaker hasn't allowed a run in 21 2/3 innings, a streak he'll look to continue Saturday at the Twins.
