Hiroki Kuroda was blasted for seven runs over six innings in a loss to the Rays on Friday.

Coming into Friday's action, Kuroda hadn't allowed home run since June 30, but he matched a career-high by giving up four of them on Friday. The seven runs allowed also matched a career-high. The veteran right-hander has allowed 10 earned runs in 11 innings over his last two starts, increasing his ERA from 2.33 to 2.71. The Yankees and fantasy owners will have to hope for a return to form next week against the Blue Jays.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal was told by one source that there's a "50/50" chance the Orioles trade for Ben Revere.

The O's have already added Gerardo Parra, but they're still seeking some outfield help. Revere has also been connected with the Blue Jays, but it sounds like their interest has died down a bit. He's under team control through 2017.

ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports that the Cardinals are going to acquire Jonathan Broxton from the Brewers.

It's unclear what the Cards will be giving up in return. Broxton holds an ugly 5.89 ERA for the season, but he's struck out a batter per inning and been very good of late, allowed runs in just one of his last 10 appearances. The big right-hander will help set up in St. Louis.
Jul 31 - 11:56 AM

FOX Sports' Jon Morosi reports that the Dodgers are in "ongoing trade talks" with the Rangers involving Yovani Gallardo.

ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reported earlier Friday that the chances of a Gallardo deal are "50/50." The Dodgers' rotation is full following the additions of Alex Wood and Mat Latos, so the club would figure to make an additional trade should they acquire Gallardo.

USA Today's Bob Nightengale reports that the Diamondbacks are considered a "long shot" to land Aroldis Chapman, as the Reds "now have stronger offers."

It's unclear which teams made the other offers, but CBS Sports' Jon Heyman notes that the Astros are in the mix and Chapman has also been connected to the Yankees. The flamethrower would obviously move into the closer role wherever he goes, so Luke Gregorson or Andrew Miller could be headed to a setup role.
Jul 31 - 10:56 AM

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Orioles are "closing in" on a trade for Gerardo Parra in exchange for pitching prospect Zach Davies.

CBS Sport' Jon Heyman says the deal is done, pending physicals. Parra has turned into a nice trade chip for Milwaukee by batting .328/.369/.517 with nine homers and nine stolen bases this season. The O's are also after Ben Revere as they look to remake their corner outfield spots.
Jul 31 - 10:30 AM

Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork.com reports that the Mets and Reds are "pretty far along" on a trade involving Jay Bruce.

Rubin says the two clubs are reviewing medicals on all the players involved, so it sounds like something could be completed soon. Acquiring Bruce means the Mets would move Curtis Granderson to center field and Juan Lagares to the bench. Bruce is under team control through 2017.
Jul 31 - 9:48 AM

ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports that the Red Sox are in the market for cost-controlled young pitching and "like Tyson Ross a lot."

They've also talked to the Indians about Carlos Carrasco. We haven't heard much from the Red Sox this week since they're out of the playoff hunt, with Crasnick saying they're "operating very quietly" in their pursuit of young rotation help. Ross, who is under team control through 2017, would certainly fit the bill.
Jul 31 - 9:17 AM

ESPN's Buster Olney reports that the Yankees "keep hammering away" at a trade for Craig Kimbrel.

The Astros and Red Sox have also talked to the Padres about Kimbrel, but it appears the Yankees might be the frontrunner here. CBS Sports' Jon Heyman hears that the Padres have sought shortstop prospect Jorge Mateo in a deal for Kimbrel. The Yanks had been viewing him as untouchable but might be altering that position. Acquiring Kimbrel would give New York a dynamic trio at the back-end of the bullpen, with Dellin Betances and Andrew Miller serving in setup roles.
Jul 31 - 9:12 AM

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Cubs are among the teams in "ongoing dialogue" with the Indians regarding Carlos Carrasco.

The Cubs seem determined to land a cost-controlled young starter, as they've also been talking to the Padres about Tyson Ross. It would take a hefty price to get Carrasco, as he's on a team-friendly four-year, $22 million contract and has flashed ace ability. The Red Sox and Dodgers are among the other clubs pursuing Carrasco, but really most any team would probably consider given his contract and upside.
Jul 31 - 8:52 AM

Arodys Vizcaino will serve as the Braves' closer following the trade of Jim Johnson.

Andrew McKirahan could get a few chances if the opposition is sending up a bunch of left-handed batters, but Vizcaino will be the main guy here. He's allowed only one run over nine innings since returning from a PED suspension. Obviously he needs to be added in fantasy leagues where he's still available.
Jul 31 - 8:33 AM

Giants acquired RHP Mike Leake from the Reds in exchange for 1B Adam Duvall and RHP Keury Mella.

The Giants were unable to land the frontline starter they sought, but Leake isn't a bad backup plan. The right-hander boasts a 3.56 ERA on the season and has put up a 2.59 mark since the beginning of June. He'll bump Tim Hudson to the bullpen.
