Leonys Martin was removed from Saturday's game against the White Sox after colliding with teammate David Murphy in the outfield.

Martin remained on the ground after the collision, grabbing his ankle. No word yet on the extent or severity of the injury, but the team is likely to provide an update on his status shortly. Adam Rosales replaced him in the lineup, with Alex Rios sliding to center field and Mitch Moreland moving to right.

Kolten Wong (head) passed a concussion test after suffering a head injury in Tuesday afternoon's contest with the Cubs.

Wong appeared to injure himself making a diving play in the fifth inning. After being lifted in the seventh, he passed the concussion test, though afterward said that he still has a slight headache. The Cubs and Cards are playing a double-header and it's a safe assumption that Wong will sit out the second game here. Matt Carpenter will likely start at second in his place.
Jul 7 - 5:06 PM

Denard Span (back) underwent an MRI on Tuesday and is set to see a specialist as he attempts to pinpoint the cause of recent back spasms.

Span's back locked up after a rain delay during Monday's game. He underwent an MRI on Tuesday and will see a back specialist. For now, he should be considered day-to-day. The injury is well-timed, if there is such a thing, as the All-Star Break will afford Span a chunk of rest as he looks to avoid hitting the disabled list.
Jul 7 - 4:21 PM

Jayson Werth (wrist) is hopeful that he'll be able to begin a rehab assignment after the All-Star Break.

Werth has been swinging with a fungo bat as he steadily works his way back from a fractured wrist suffered earlier in the year. Nationals manager Matt Williams has said that Werth is making "significant progress." Assuming a rehab assignment is on the horizon, it's possible that Werth could return to the team in early August.
Jul 7 - 4:13 PM

The Rangers have come to terms on a contract with international free agent INF Andy Ibanez.

Ibanez is 22 years old. He hit .283/.348/.419 with 13 homers in the last three seasons in Cuba. Known more for his glove than his bat at this time, he'll likely spend some time in the Ranger minor league system as the team looks to develop him. The terms of the contract have not yet been made public.
Jul 7 - 4:09 PM

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that Andrew Miller (forearm) will be activated Wednesday.

Miller allowed two hits and struck out one batter in a scoreless inning Monday in a minor league rehab appearance with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The southpaw has been out for a month with a left forearm strain, but one appearance is all he needed to convince the Yankees that he was ready. Dellin Betances has been handling save chances, but Girardi said that it's likely Miller will be moved back into the closer role upon his return.
Jul 7 - 3:56 PM

Kolten Wong left Tuesday's game against the Cubs in the seventh inning with a head contusion.

Wong appeared shaken up after making a diving catch to end the fifth inning. He stayed in the game initially, but apparently wasn't feeling right. It's unclear if he'll be checked out for a concussion, but the Cardinals should pass along an update soon.
Jul 7 - 3:42 PM

Yunel Escobar (hamstring) is out of Tuesday's lineup against the Reds.

Escobar is getting a day off after leaving Monday's game with left hamstring tightness. Danny Espinosa will start at third base while Dan Uggla plays second base.
Jul 7 - 3:19 PM

Brewers activated OF Khris Davis from the 15-day disabled list.

He'll start in left field Tuesday night against the Braves. Davis has been out since late May with a torn meniscus in his right knee. He returns to a .250/.337/.446 batting line with five homers and 16 RBI over 46 games.
Jul 7 - 3:03 PM

Starling Marte (oblique) is out of Tuesday's lineup against the Padres.

Marte left Sunday's game with discomfort in his left side and will now miss his second straight start. He's considered day-to-day right now, but fantasy owners would be wise to have a backup plan this week. Sean Rodriguez will start in left field Tuesday.
Jul 7 - 2:45 PM

Rays placed OF Steven Souza on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 6, with a right pinkie finger laceration.

Souza suffered the injury when he was hit by a pitch on Sunday. The good news is that he's not dealing with a fracture or tendon damage, but he'll get some extended rest. The 26-year-old is batting .210/.301/.417 with 15 homers, 33 RBI, and 10 steals over 79 games this season.
