Yasiel Puig was pulled in the fifth inning of Wednesday afternoon's game against the Cubs.

No reason was given for the sudden departure and Puig was spotted on the dugout bench with no trainer in sight. It's possible that the 22-year-old outfielder did something that irked Dodgers manager Don Mattingly.

According to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, the Nationals have scouted David Robertson and Wade Davis.

The Red Sox and Dodgers have also shown interest in Davis, though this is the first we've heard of anyone checking in on Robertson. The White Sox hurler has a strong track record but has fallen apart this month with a 9.39 ERA over 7 2/3 innings. The Nationals are looking to upgrade on struggling veteran Jonathan Papelbon in the ninth inning. They were one of several teams pursuing Aroldis Chapman before he landed with the Cubs.

Trea Turner will draw another start in center field Thursday against the Giants.

He'll hit leadoff against Giants right-hander Johnny Cueto. The fact that Turner is starting against a right-hander instead of Ben Revere would suggest that Turner has usurped Revere's role as the everyday center fielder. And why not? He's hitting .319 with six RBI and five steals in only 12 contests. Until Turner's luck runs out, expect him to be in the lineup most days. He's worth a speculative add in most formats.

Reds activated RHP Homer Bailey from the 60-day disabled list.

Bailey needed 14 months to recover from Tommy John surgery. He'll make his season debut for the Reds Sunday against the Padres. To make room for Bailey on the active roster, the Reds optioned Kyle Waldrop to Triple-A Louisville while also transferring Caleb Cotham (shoulder) to the 60-day disabled list.

Salvador Perez (illness) was scratched from the Royals' lineup Thursday against the Rangers.

Perez is out with a head cold. Drew Butera will take over behind the plate and bat eighth against Texas lefty Cole Hamels. Consider Perez day-to-day.

According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, the Brewers are still having trade discussions with the Mets about Jonathan Lucroy.

The Mets previously offered Travis d'Arnaud for Lucroy straight up but the Brewers understandably balked at that proposal. Perhaps the Mets have upped their offer. In addition to the Mets, Lucroy has drawn interest from the Astros, Indians, Red Sox and Rangers. Though talks between the Mets and Brewers remain ongoing, Rosenthal said a deal for Lucroy is not imminent.

Giants activated 2B Joe Panik from the 7-day disabled list.

He's back after missing a month with a concussion. Panik will start at second base and bat third Thursday against Washington. Grant Green, who filled in at second during Panik's absence, has been designated for assignment. Panik carries a .256 average over 273 at-bats this season.

Hernan Perez went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Thursday's win over the Diamondbacks.

The D'Backs jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first, but Perez knotted things back up with a two-run blast in the third. He also added a pair of stolen bases, giving him 16 on the season. While he played shortstop Thursday, Perez has taken over as the Brewers' third baseman since the trade of Aaron Hill and has provided sneaky production this season. He's on pace for 10 homers and 26 stolen bases despite a relatively limited number of at-bats.

MLB.com's Mark Bowman confirmed Julio Teheran (lat) will start Saturday against the Phillies.

Teheran had his turn pushed back a few days after leaving his last start with a strained lat but he recovered nicely from his side session and should see his usual workload on Saturday. The right-hander has been one of the few bright spots for Atlanta this year. He holds an elite 2.71 ERA over 20 outings this season.

Jeurys Familia blew his second straight save chance Thursday, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks in a loss to the Rockies.

Mets manager Terry Collins said that Familia would be unavailable after pitching the last two days, but the closer apparently approached the skipper and told him he wanted to pitch. The Rockies didn't hit anything hard, as one hit was a grounder up the middle and the other was a bunt single that catcher Rene Rivera should've fielded. Familia has blown two straight save opportunities after converting 52 in a row.

USA Today's Bob Nightengale says the Diamondbacks are not expected to trade Daniel Hudson on Thursday.

Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reported Thursday afternoon that the Diamondbacks were moving close to a Hudson trade, but it's apparently not all that close. Nightengale hears that the 29-year-old right-hander is drawing heavy interest from three different teams. Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports Hudson will not be heading to the Mets.

Phillies placed OF Peter Bourjos on the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder sprain.

That will obviously kill off any trade value he might have had. Bourjos suffered the injury on Tuesday night while robbing Ichiro Suzuki of a base hit and could be sidelined until September. Aaron Altherr has been activated in a corresponding roster move.
