Todd Frazier launched a pair of solo homers in Thursday's win over the Cardinals.

Frazier struck out with the bases loaded and two out in the first, but he made up for it in his next three at-bats, homering in the third, singling in the fifth and homering again in the seventh. The owner of a disappointing .237/.320/.405 batting line, Frazier has just 15 homers after hitting six in his first 21 games.

Ryan Braun is not in the Brewers starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Reds.

Braun has battled a variety of ailments already this season, so giving him a breather to keep him fresh isn't a terrible idea, especially after he looked especially spry on Friday night with a pair of stolen bases. Unfortunately for fantasy owners, he misses a juicy matchup against Alfredo Simon.

Cardinals designated INF Ruben Tejada for assignment.

Greg Garcia flashed enough in his brief callup that that Cardinals felt it would be more prudent to keep him on the roster as a reserve infielder instead of Tejada who was hitting just .176/.225/.235 in his 34 at-bats. He should be able to latch on elsewhere with little difficulty.

Braves placed SS Erick Aybar on the 15-day disabled list with a right foot contusion.

Aybar suffered the injury when he was drilled by an Adam Conley offering during Friday's game. Rather than rush him back into action, the club will give Aybar ample time to heal. Daniel Castro should handle the bulk of the action at shortstop while he's sidelined.

Blue Jays placed SS Troy Tulowitzki on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right quadriceps.

Tulowitzki tweaked his injured quad while running to first base during Friday's game against the Red Sox. Darwin Barney will handle most of the action at shortstop while he's sidelined.

Troy Tulowitzki (quad) is not in the Blue Jays starting lineup on Saturday.

Tulowitzki tweaked his injured quad on Friday and underwent a precautionary MRI on Saturday. He's considered day-to-day. Darwin Barney will start in his place and bat eighth against Rick Porcello and the Red Sox.

Aaron Hill continued his power surge against the Reds on Friday, blasting a pair of home runs in a 9-5 victory.

Hill registered the first and only three homer game of his career earlier in the month against this same Reds pitching staff. Hill tagged starter John Lamb for a solo homer that tied the game at 3-3 in the fourth inning, then replicated the feat in the fifth. Hill also singled in the contest, finishing the night 3-for-4 to raise his season slash up to .271/.340/.443 to go along with six homers and 19 RBI.

Jung Ho Kang homered and drove home three runs on Friday as the Pirates routed the Rangers 9-1 in Texas.

Kang clobbered a three-run homer that capped off a five-run uprising in the fifth inning. It was one of four home runs that the Pirates would hit in the contest, with Starling Marte, Andrew McCutchen and Gregory Polanco each leaving the yard as well. Kang finished the night 2-for-5 and is now hitting .308/.367/.731 with six homers and 17 RBI in his first 60 plate appearances.

Eric Hosmer went 3-for-4 with a homer and a season-high four RBI in Friday’s 7-5 victory over the White Sox.

Hosmer drove in a run with a ground out in the first inning and slugged a solo homer in the sixth before adding a go-ahead two-run single in the seventh. The 26-year-old has picked up the power production of late and is now batting .307/.359/.520 with nine homers and 27 RBI through 47 games. He has never hit more than 19 home runs in a season before, but he’s in good position to top that this year if he can stay healthy.
May 27 - 11:55 PM

Mark Trumbo blasted his 15th home run of the season on Friday as the Orioles defeated the Indians 6-4 in the first game of their weekend series in Cleveland.

Trumbo's two-run shot in the seventh inning provided valuable insurance runs for the O's and would prove to be the difference in the ballgame. Trumbo also singled, finishing the night 2-for-4. He has been an absolute force in the middle of the Orioles lineup this season, slashing .284/.335/.568 with 15 homers and 34 RBI.
May 27 - 11:21 PM

Marcell Ozuna stayed hot Friday against the Braves by going 3-for-4 with an RBI double.

Ozuna has now reached base safely in 34 consecutive games. The 25-year-old has hit safely in nine straight games, including six straight multi-hit games. He’s batting .343/.387/.591 overall. It appears that the breakout is upon us.
May 27 - 11:16 PM

Curtis Granderson launched a walk-off solo homer in the bottom of the ninth inning in Friday’s 6-5 victory over the Dodgers.

Citi Field was down in the dumps after Jeurys Familia blew the lead in the top of the ninth, but Granderson took Pedro Baez deep to lead off the bottom of the frame to send the fans home happy. It was just the second walk-off homer of Granderson’s career and his first since way back on September 26, 2005. The 35-year-old is batting just .200 with a .300 on-base percentage this season, but he has at least managed nine home runs.
