According to MASN's Roch Kubatko, there is a "mutual attraction" between the Orioles and Scott Feldman.

Feldman, who can become a free agent this November, posted a 3.86 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 132/56 K/BB ratio in 181 2/3 innings this season between the Cubs and Orioles. He'll get offers from multiple teams if he hits the open market. The O's have the first shot at him.

Blue Jays signed INF/OF Steve Pearce to a two-year, $12.5 million contract.

Pearce gets a nice payday after slashing .288/.374/.492 in 302 plate appearances this summer between the Rays and Orioles, while appearing defensively at first base, second base, third base, and both corner outfield spots. He carries durability issues and will turn 34 years old next April, but the guy has always mashed left-handed pitching when healthy and he brings a good amount of offensive and defensive versatility to Toronto's roster.

According to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, the Indians have "checked in on" free agent Edwin Encarnacion.

It's a perfect fit for what the Indians need -- a power-hitting righty in a lefty-heavy lineup -- but Cleveland is not typically in the running for big-time free agents because of budgetary constraints. So the price may have to fall some from where it is now. Jim Bowden of ESPN calls the Rangers "the team to watch" on Encarnacion. Toronto's signing of Steve Pearce signals the end of a possible reunion there.

Les Shapiro of Mile High Sports Radio AM 1340 is being told the Giants are wrapping up a deal with free agent closer Mark Melancon.

It's not the greatest source, but there have been many other rumblings connecting Melancon to the Giants over the last couple of weeks. Jorge Castillo of the Washington Post reported Monday morning that the Nationals made a four-year offer to Melancon worth less than $60 million and that it probably wasn't going to be enough to get a deal done. There could very well be legs here on a deal with San Francisco.

According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the "perception of outside executives" is that the Astros and Nationals are trying hardest on a Chris Sale trade.

Those execs place the Braves as the next-likeliest suitor. Getting the White Sox to trade Sale is going to take a bevy of young talent, but all three of these organizations are rich in that department. Sale, 27, posted a 3.34 ERA, 1.037 WHIP, and 233/45 K/BB ratio across 226 2/3 innings this past season for the Southsiders. He's on a team-friendly contract that carries options through 2019.
Dec 5 - 10:13 AM

Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch hears the Cardinals "have kept tabs on possible trade options" such as Lorenzo Cain of the Royals.

Cain is due to become a free agent after the 2017 season and the Royals probably aren't going to be able to afford to sign him to a long-term extension, so a trade this winter does seem possible. Goold also hears the Cardinals are eyeing Adam Eaton of the White Sox. On the free agent side, St. Louis has been connected strongly to Dexter Fowler.
Dec 5 - 10:00 AM

ESPN's Buster Olney confirms the Blue Jays have signed Steve Pearce to a two-year, $12.5 million free agent contract.

Pearce has appeared in 100-plus games just once in his major league career, but he mashes left-handed pitching (.309/.411/.617 vs. lefties in 2016) and can play multiple positions defensively. It's a nice pickup at a reasonable price, and he should do very well as a platoon-type player in hitter-friendly Toronto. The agreement is only pending a physical. Pearce is coming off September surgery to repair flexor tendons in his right forearm but should be ready by Opening Day.

Police officials in Seoul, South Korea confirmed to YonHap News that Jung Ho Kang's recent DUI arrest was his third since 2009.

Which means he will be charged under the capital city's "three strikes law" and have his license revoked. Kang also fled the scene after this latest incident and tried to claim a friend was driving, but authorities analyzed the black box inside the vehicle and determined that to be a lie. Kang is obviously in very serious trouble, both in his native country and with the Pirates. Club president Frank Coonelly released a stern message last Thursday condemning the player's actions.

Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports hears the Angels have checked in on free agent Justin Turner.

But the big question here is whether Anaheim has the money to make a competitive offer given that Turner is one of the most sought-after free agents out there and is known to be drawing interest from a number of high-budget teams. Heyman believes a reunion with the Dodgers remains the most likely scenario.
Dec 5 - 9:07 AM

Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post hears that Trea Turner is "all but untouchable."

There has been serious talk of the Nationals pursuing trades for Chris Sale and Andrew McCutchen, but it doesn't sound like Washington is going to be willing to part with Turner under any circumstance. Turner, 23, posted a ridiculous .342/.370/.567 batting line with 13 home runs and 33 stolen bases in 73 games this past season for the Nats. He's going to be a very popular guy in fantasy drafts next spring.
Dec 5 - 8:40 AM

According to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, the Blue Jays are talking to free agent Mitch Moreland.

Edwin Encarnacion remains the biggest focus for Toronto, but Moreland and Steve Pearce are also being considered as something like a Plan B. Moreland, 31, batted .233/.298/.422 with 22 home runs and 60 RBI in 147 games this past season for the Rangers while earning a Gold Glove at first base. He's also drawn interest from the Indians.
Dec 5 - 8:35 AM

Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports reports that the Indians have "stayed in touch" with Mike Napoli.

But there seems to be a very healthy market for the 35-year-old free agent slugger, who tallied 34 home runs and 101 RBI for Cleveland in 2016. He struggled down the stretch and into the postseason, but Napoli figures to find a multi-year deal this winter at a nice price point. Count the Red Sox, Yankees, and Rangers among his other current suitors.
