Stephen Vogt's bases-loaded, walk-off single gave the A's a 1-0 win over the Tigers in Game 2 of the ALDS on Saturday.

Vogt was in line to be one of the game's bigger goats prior to the hit, as he'd struck out three times in his first three at-bats. But in the game's biggest spot, Vogt lined a single past a drawn-in infield to send everyone home. It was a good spot for his first career postseason hit.

Amed Rosario (stomach) is out of the Mets' starting lineup again on Wednesday.

Rosario is working through a nasty case of gastroenteritis and has now missed three straight games, though he's reportedly feeling a little better. Jose Reyes will start at shortstop and bat second Wednesday versus Marlins right-hander Jose Urena.

MLB.com's Jon Morosi confirms that the Blue Jays have signed Marco Estrada to a one-year, $13 million contract extension.

That might seem like a hefty chunk of change for a 34-year-old with a 4.84 ERA in 176 2/3 innings this season, but Estrada has been much better in the second half and the free agent market this winter will be light on mid-tier starting pitchers. Plus, one-year deals are hardly risky in this modern MLB landscape where every club is flush with cash. 2018 will be Estrada's fourth year in Toronto. He owns a 3.81 ERA and 1.175 WHIP in 533 2/3 total innings as a member of the Jays.

Rhys Hoskins reached base three times and drove in four runs in the Phillies' win over the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Hoskins plated a run with a single in the sixth, but he provided the big blow in the seventh. After Pedro Baez walked Odubel Herrera to force in a run and tie the game with two outs, Hoskins then cleared the bases with a two-bagger. The stud rookie has now driven in 43 runs in his first 39 games with the Phillies.

Dexter Fowler hit a game-tying solo homer in the eighth inning and a go-ahead RBI double in the 10th inning of Tuesday's comeback win over the Reds.

Fowler's drive off of Kevin Shackleford in the eighth just barely cleared the right-center field wall and Scott Schebler's glove. He then doubled down the line to put the Cards ahead in extra innings. Fowler also had a single and drew a walk, reaching base four times on the night. The outfielder is now 7-for-12 with two homers since returning from a bruised knee.

Nationals manager Dusty Baker said he expects Daniel Murphy (hamstring) to return to the starting lineup on Wednesday.

Murphy was scratched from Tuesday's game against the Braves due to left hamstring tightness, but it's apparently nothing serious. Wilmer Difo filled in at second base, going 0-for-4 while stranding five runners.

Kevin Gausman held the Red Sox to just three hits and a walk over eight scoreless innings but settled for a no-decision in Tuesday’s extra-innings loss.

Gausman punched out seven batters on the night, and the three hits he gave up were all singles. The right-hander has tossed 15 2/3 scoreless innings while permitting just seven hits over his last two outings versus the Red Sox. He’s been fantastic in four of his last five starts and now boasts a 3.09 second-half ERA. Gausman takes on the Rays on Sunday.

Jose Ramirez (hamstring) is back in the Indians' starting lineup Tuesday versus the Angels.

Ramirez missed a couple of games with a minor hamstring injury. He'll start at second base and bat third Tuesday night against Angels left-hander Tyler Skaggs.
Sep 19 - 6:51 PM

Buster Posey (foot) is back in the Giants' starting lineup Tuesday night against the Rockies.

Posey missed Sunday's series finale versus the Diamondbacks due to a sore toe on his left foot. It obviously wasn't anything too serious. He'll start at catcher and bat cleanup Tuesday against Colorado right-hander German Marquez.

Twins manager Paul Molitor confirmed Tuesday that Miguel Sano (shin) is likely done for the remainder of the 2017 regular season.

Sano has been sidelined since August 19 with a stress reaction in his left shin and he still isn't running at 100 percent here on September 19. "We’re down to a dozen games," Molitor said Tuesday. "My biggest concern now is even if he gets to the point where we get him on the field in any capacity, how much of a challenge is it going to be for him to have any type of timing at all? With some of the pitching we have to face, that’s going to be hard to give away at-bats just to hope he’s got it." If the Twins are able to sneak into the postseason, the conversation will obviously change.
Sep 19 - 6:08 PM

Eugenio Suarez has been excused from the Reds for the birth of his first child.

That explains why Suarez is not in the Reds' starting lineup Tuesday versus the Cardinals. Patrick Kivlehan will handle third base and bat seventh versus right-hander Jack Flaherty.
Sep 19 - 5:29 PM

Red Sox manager John Farrell said Hanley Ramirez (biceps) should return to the lineup Wednesday.

Ramirez is out again Tuesday versus the Orioles due to lingering biceps soreness, though he did serve as a pinch-hitter on Monday night, striking out in his first plate appearance since last Wednesday. The 33-year-old slugger owns a disappointing .238/.319/.422 batting line in 124 games this season for Boston.
