Hanley Ramirez (rib) has been inserted into the Dodgers lineup for Game 6 of the NLCS on Friday.

Apparently, Ramirez is feeling good enough to give it a go, even though he's far from 100%. The Dodgers will now feature a lineup of Carl Crawford LF, Mark Ellis 2B, Adrian Gonzalez 1B, Hanley Ramirez SS, Andre Ethier CF, Yasiel Puig RF, Juan Uribe 3B, A.J. Ellis C and Clayton Kershaw P.

Joe Musgrove was fantastic in his long-awaited Pirates’ debut on Friday, tossing seven scoreless innings in an 8-1 victory over the Cardinals.

Musgrove’s season debut was delayed due to a shoulder issue from the spring, but he proved to be worth the wait on Friday. He scattered five hits while walking none and striking out seven. He was incredibly efficient in the process, throwing 50 out of his 67 pitches for strikes. According to STATS, he’s the first pitcher to throw at least seven innings on fewer than 70 pitches since Greg Maddux did it on September 18, 2008. Musgrove had the look of a fantasy sleeper after coming over to Pittsburgh in the Gerrit Cole deal and needs to be picked up in mixed leagues after this sort of outing.

Austin Meadows went 2-for-4 with a triple, a stolen base, and two runs scored Friday against the Cardinals.

Meadows is now batting .448 (13-for-29) through his first seven games in the majors. He has three straight multi-hit games. Chances are he’ll head back to Triple-A with Starling Marte (oblique) poised to come off the disabled list, but he’s trying to make the decision a tough one. Either way, it has been an impressive start.

Martin Prado was removed from Friday night's game against the Nationals with an apparent leg injury.

Prado came up hobbling after racing to beat out a ground ball at first base. He had to be helped off the field and down the dugout steps. He was having a terrific night at the plate before the injury, going 3-for-4 with two doubles off of Max Scherzer. Look for an update from the Marlins on his status after the game.

Austin Hedges pulled himself out of his rehab game at Triple-A El Paso on Thursday due to renewed soreness in his elbow.

He'll be shut down for a few days before being re-evaluated. Hedges had been expected to rejoin the Padres this weekend, but that plan is obviously on hold now.

Mariners acquired RHP Alex Colome and OF Denard Span from the Rays for RHP Tommy Romero, RHP Andrew Moore and cash considerations.

From the Mariners' perspective, this is a terrific get, as it gives them an outstanding setup man to work in front of all-world closer Edwin Diaz. From a fantasy perspective, it's a devastating blow to Colome owners. Sure, there was a high likelihood that he could be dealt prior to the trade deadline, but most thought they would get at least another month's worth of saves out of him first.

Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports that the Rays have traded Alex Colome and Denard Span to the Mariners.

Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times hears that Andrew Moore and Tommy Romero are going to Tampa Bay in the deal. It's a big blow to the fantasy value of Colome, who had rebounded after a slow start but is now slated for a setup role in Seattle. Chaz Roe and Jose Alvarado figure to be next in line for saves with the Rays, but manager Kevin Cash can be unpredictable.

Kyle Hendricks tossed seven innings of one-run ball in the Cubs' 6-2 victory over the Giants on Friday.

Hendricks served up a solo home run to Gorkys Hernandez in the fourth inning, but that was the only run and one of just two hits he gave up on the day. The right-hander walked a pair and struck out seven, needing just 88 pitches to navigate through his seven frames. The excellent showing dropped Hendricks' ERA for the season down to 3.16. He will go up against the Pirates in Pittsburgh when he next toes the slab.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter said that Mark Trumbo (knee) will be placed on the disabled list after Friday's game.

Trumbo has been diagnosed with arthritis and chondromalacia in his right knee. He had been hopeful of only missing a few days of action, but Showalter said Trumbo will have to be shut down for 3-4 days after getting an injection so they will go ahead and make a roster move. Barring a setback, it doesn't seem like it will be a long DL stint. The O's have Craig Gentry and Joey Rickard in the corner outfield spots and Trey Mancini at designated hitter Friday.
May 25 - 5:39 PM

Yoenis Cespedes (hip) began a running program Friday.

It's obviously a significant step forward as Cespedes works his way back from a strained right hip flexor. He's likely to require a few rehab games before the Mets activate him. Cespedes has been sidelined for the previous week and a half with the injury.
May 25 - 5:12 PM

Troy Tulowitzki (heels) has been cleared to run.

Tulowitzki had been running on an anti-gravity treadmill but is now ready to run on regular ground. It's obviously good news, but Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said Friday that it's "probably a ways away still" before the shortstop will be ready to return. He's been out all season following surgery on both heels to remove bone spurs.
May 25 - 4:43 PM

Greg Bird (knee) will be activated from the disabled list Saturday.

Things had been pointing that way and Yankees manager Aaron Boone made it official Friday. Bird has been sidelined all season following March ankle surgery but is ready to roll after playing 12 rehab games. He should see the lion's share of playing time at first base moving forward.
