Carlos Beltran continued to shine in the postseason, going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI as the Cardinals slaughtered the Dodgers 9-0 in Game 6 of the NLCS on Friday to earn a World Series berth.

Beltran got the scoring started in the third inning, plating Matt Carpenter with a one-out RBI single. He would later add another RBI single in the fifth inning, capping off a five-run uprising and completing the scoring in the ballgame. He wraps up the NLCS hitting .286 (6-for-21) with six RBI. The 36-year-old superstar outfielder will make his long-awaited World Series debut on Wednesday.

According to Yahoo's Jeff Passan, the Mets have reached out to the Rockies about Troy Tulowitzki.

Passan says New York is "prepared to offer top pitching prospect Noah Syndergaard in a deal for" the star shortstop, who is signed through 2021. The Cardinals have also made their interest known, but it doesn't sound like the Rockies are going to budge this summer on a trade involving the current face of their franchise. Tulo is currently on the disabled list anyway with a left hip flexor strain. He flew to Philadelphia this weekend to meet with a sports hernia surgeon and took in a game (quite controversially) on Sunday at Yankee Stadium.

Andrew Cashner (shoulder) threw a 31-pitch bullpen session on Sunday afternoon at Turner Field.

"I kinda surprised myself with my command," Cashner said after the workout. "It was coming out good." He threw only fastballs and changeups, and is still a long way from returning to the Padres' starting rotation. But it was a significant step in the right direction. The right-hander has been out since late June with a shoulder injury.

According to MLB.com's Thomas Harding, the Pirates have interest in Rockies closer LaTroy Hawkins.

The Bucs are looking for some easy and inexpensive ways to upgrade their bullpen, and the 41-year-old Hawkins fits that mold. He has posted a 3.09 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 35 innings this season out of the Colorado bullpen on a salary of just $2.25 million. Hawkins also carries a $2.25 million club option for the 2015 campaign.

FOX Sports' Jon Morosi reports that the Giants "remain interested" in trading for Ben Zobrist.

The Giants don't exactly have a loaded farm system and gave up two good young pitchers to acquire Jake Peavy last week, but it seems they're ready to go all-in (so to speak) as they try to keep pace with the Dodgers in the National League West. Zobrist, 33, has hit .268/.358/.409 in 403 plate appearances this season for Tampa Bay. He could play all around the field for San Francisco.

Hyun-Jin Ryu picked up his 12th victory of the season on Sunday, allowing three runs on six hits over his six innings of work.

Ryu racked up seven strikeouts on the night while walking just one. The Giants got to him for single runs in the third, fourth and fifth inning, the last one on a solo blast off the bat of Buster Posey. The supersized southpaw will carry a 3.44 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 105/23 K/BB ratio into next weekend’s start against the Cubs.

John Jaso went 2-for-5 and drove home three runs on Sunday, leading the Athletics to a 9-3 victory over the Rangers in Texas.

Jaso singled home a run as part of a five-run uprising in the second inning. He would later add a two-run double in the fifth inning, increasing the A’s advantage to 8-2. He has been one of the better offensive catchers in the American League this season, slashing .286/.361/.471 with eight homers and 38 RBI.

B.J. Upton went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs scored as the Braves beat the Padres 8-3 on Sunday.

Upton has found a home atop the Braves lineup, as he's now scored 22 runs in 28 games from the leadoff spot. He's also managed to put up a line resembling league average, hitting .243/.306/.360 in the top spot before Sunday's game. He's still striking out too much and isn't hitting for as much power as we're accustomed to seeing from Upton, but it's a start.

Josh Harrison had a monster day on Sunday, going 4-for-6 with a home run, two RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases in the Pirates' 7-5 victory over the Rockies.
