Marlins general manager Dan Jennings told SiriusXM's Jim Bowden in an interview Sunday that the club has discussed both Mark Trumbo and Will Middlebrooks with their scouts.

The Marlins know they need to add more punch to their lineup and could do so with the addition of either corner infielder. "We like both guys," Jennings said. "We're not there yet in terms of close to any deals." The Angels are known to be shopping Trumbo for pitching, and the Red Sox could conceivably deal Middlebrooks if they put Xander Bogaerts at third instead of shortstop next season.

Todd Frazier hit his 19th home run of the season, a two-run blast, as the Reds bested the Pirates 6-3 on Sunday.

The homer was Frazier's second in as many days, and it was his only hit in five at-bats. His 19 home runs are fourth-most in the National League at the break, and he's also among the league leaders in runs scored (57) and slugging percentage. Perhaps no player had a bigger breakout in the first half -- Frazier will take a .290/.353/.500 line with 14 stolen bases and 53 RBI into the second half.

Jarrod Dyson finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Tigers.

Getting his fifth straight start, Dyson drove in a run with a groundout in the Royals' five-run seventh inning. He also had two singles and stole his 18th base of the year. The speedy outfielder is batting .293/.348/.340 heading into the break, and he'll continue to see plenty of playing time as the Royals' fourth outfielder going forward.
Jul 13 - 6:34 PM

Carlos Gomez propelled the Brewers to a huge 11-2 win over the Cardinals on Sunday, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI on the day.

Gomez wrapped up an MVP-like first half with a great showing, scoring in the first, fourth and sixth innings. Gomez is among the league leaders in runs, stolen bases, slugging percentage and OPS at the break. He owns a .304/.370/.510 line, with his next start coming in Tuesday's All-Star Game.
Jul 13 - 5:42 PM

David Price pitched eight scoreless innings, holding the Blue Jays to just five hits, and the Rays prevailed 3-0 on Sunday.

Price's start was moved back a day due to illness, but he showed no ill effects in earning his ninth win. The southpaw walked one while striking out five, rattling off his fifth win in his last six decisions. The strong string of starts leaves him with a 3.23 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 164/21 K/BB ratio through 20 starts. Trade rumors will continue to swirl around him in the coming weeks, but Price should continue to be fantastic -- wherever he's pitching -- in the second half.
Jul 13 - 5:01 PM

Jasyon Werth went 2-for-3 with a homer and four RBI in the Nationals' 10-3 stomping of the Phillies on Sunday.

Werth kicked off the game's scoring with a three-run homer against Phillies starter Kyle Kendrick in the top of the first inning. He then added an RBI single in the top of the ninth. The veteran outifelder has been hitting the ball with authority in July -- especially with runners in scoring position -- and will try to keep the fun rolling after the All-Star break.
Jul 13 - 4:51 PM

Jacob deGrom fired seven innings of one-run ball Sunday in the Mets' 9-1 rout of the Marlins.

DeGrom struck out eight batters and allowed only five Miami hits over his seven frames. It was yet another impressive showing from the 26-year-old left-hander, who will finish the first half with a 3.18 ERA and 72/28 K/BB ratio in 73 2/3 innings. He's still available in 77 percent of Yahoo fantasy leagues.
Jul 13 - 4:34 PM

Trevor Bauer notched a career-high 10 strikeouts while tossing 6 2/3 shutout innings but took a no-decision in the Indians' 3-2 win over the White Sox Sunday.

He gave up eight hits and walked three, getting removed after 117 pitches following a two-out single by Jose Abreu in the seventh. Bauer has been up-and-down since the beginning of June but finishes the first half having allowed just two earned runs over his last two outings. He’ll bring a 3.84 ERA with 70 strikeouts over 72 2/3 innings into the All-Star break.
Jul 13 - 4:30 PM

Tim Hudson has been added to the National League All-Star team.

He's replacing teammate Madison Bumgarner, who is starting on Sunday. Hudson is a worthy addition, having posted a 2.87 ERA and 1.10 WHIP over 18 starts during the first half. It will be his fourth All-Star appearance.

Alfredo Simon has been added to the National League All-Star team.

He's replacing teammate Johnny Cueto, who started on Sunday. We'd rather see someone like Stephen Strasburg make it, but Simon has had a great first half with a 2.70 ERA and 1.05 WHIP.
Jul 13 - 1:48 PM

Tyler Clippard has been added to the National League All-Star team.

He's taking the roster spot of Julio Teheran, who is starting on Sunday. There are others that are more deserving, but there's no doubt Clippard has had a great year, posting a 2.03 ERA with 53 strikeouts over 40 innings.
Jul 13 - 1:22 PM

Rockies activated LHP Brett Anderson from the 60-day disabled list.

Anderson will make his return to the Rockies' rotation on Sunday against the Twins after missing three months with a fractured left index finger. Fantasy owners should probably give him a start or two to knock the rust off.
