Jose Reyes (hamstring) told reporters Saturday that he is ready for a minor league rehab assignment.

Reyes ran the bases on both Friday and Saturday, and reported no issues with his left hamstring. He should begin playing in minor league games on Monday and could be back with the Blue Jays by the end of next week. April 16 is the first day he's eligible for activation.

Matt Carpenter (quad) is not in the Cardinals' lineup Monday.

Carpenter was lifted from Sunday's game with a tight right quad. The injury appears to be a day-to-day situation for the time being. Luke Voit is getting a start in his place, and Paul DeJong has moved up to the No. 3 spot in the lineup with Dexter Fowler shifting up to his old leadoff spot. With Paul DeJong slotting up to the three spot in the order, he becomes a viable punt play across the industry. Antonio Senzatela isn't a sieve by any means, as he's held hitters to a 0.75 HR/9 rate on the road this season (3 in 36 IP), but he's still not an arm we necessarily need to avoid with value plays. DeJong owns a very solid .367 ISO at home against RHP this season.

J.D. Martinez (hand) is back in the Diamondbacks' lineup Monday.

It's his first start since he was hit on the left hand with a pitch last Wednesday. Martinez is in right field and batting fifth against R.A. Dickey and the Braves.

Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that there's been "little indication" to this point that the Rangers will trade Yu Darvish.

The Rangers reported have put out feelers to see what Darvish could potentially bring back in return, but they've won three straight and sit just 2.5 games out of a Wild Card spot. They are also interested in re-signing Darvish to a long-term contract and figure they'd have a better chance to do it if they hang on to him. Unless the Rangers collapse over the next week, it seems likely that they'll hang on to their ace. Sherman notes that Darvish is "pretty much" the Dodgers' "only interest" among starters, so they could stand pat in that regard if the Texas righty isn't made available.

Mets placed RHP Zack Wheeler on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to July 23, with a stress reaction in his right arm.

Well, that doesn't sound good, especially given Wheeler's arm injury history. It's unclear at this point how long the right-hander will be sidelined, but the out-of-contention Mets certainly figure to proceed cautiously. Tyler Pill has replaced Wheeler on the roster and could get some starts.

MLB.com's Mark Feinsand reports that the Mariners "might be preparing to make a run" for Sonny Gray.

Feinsand's source told him that general manager Jerry Dipoto "is going for it these next two years" and "if he is going for it, he might as well go completely in." Seattle doesn't have a terribly strong farm system, but it sounds like Dipoto could be willing to empty the cupboard in order to acquire a quality starter who is under team control through 2019. He'll have plenty of competition for Gray, of course, as most every contender looking for pitching help has been connected to him.

Aaron Altherr (hamstring) expects to return from the disabled list by the end of the week.

Altherr is eligible to return on Tuesday, but he needs a little more time. Howie Kendrick figures to slide into a utility role once he's ready to return. Of course, Kendrick is likely to be traded soon.

Troy Tulowitzki (groin) has returned to the Blue Jays' lineup Monday.

Tulo apparently got the go-ahead after taking ground balls and doing some light baserunning early Monday. The veteran shortstop sat out Saturday and Sunday with groin soreness.

Chris Davis is not in Monday's lineup versus the Rays.

He'll take a seat against lefty Blake Snell. Mark Trumbo is drawing the start at first base while Welington Castillo serves as the DH. Caleb Joseph will start behind the plate and catch Kevin Gausman.

Red Sox purchased the contract of 3B Rafael Devers from Triple-A Pawtucket.

It's been a rapid rise for the 20-year-old Devers, who batted .300/.369/.575 with 18 homers over 77 games at Double-A this year before a recent promotion to Triple-A. He hit .400 (14-for-35) with two homers over nine games with Pawtucket, which was apparently enough for the Red Sox to see if he can be a solution at third base. It's a lot to ask him to produce right away, but he's a worthwhile pickup in most mixed fantasy leagues given the lineup and ballpark. He should see most of the starts against right-handed starters.

Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports that the Nationals, Dodgers, and Red Sox are among the clubs who closely scouting Phillies reliever Pat Neshek.

Neshek is a popular name right now, as FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reported last week that the Brewers and Rays were also in the mix. An impending free agent, the 36-year-old Neshek owns a dominant 1.12 ERA and 45/5 K/BB ratio over 40 1/3 innings this season. He's coming off his second career All-Star selection.

According to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, the initial prognosis suggests that Clayton Kershaw (back) will miss 4-6 weeks.

We'll have a better idea about the official timetable after Kershaw sees Dr. Robert Watkins, but this would place his return somewhere around the start of September. On the bright side, it doesn't appear to be as serious as the back injury he dealt with last year. The Dodgers are cruising in the NL West and should be fine, but it's a tough blow for fantasy owners.
