Derek Norris went 2-for-4 with two home runs and six RBI in the Athletics' 9-1 win over the Nationals on Sunday.

Norris hit three-run homers in the first and second innings as the A's roughed up Gio Gonzalez. It makes for a good storyline, as Norris and Gonzalez were traded for each other in 2011. Norris is quickly becoming a mixed-league relevant catcher, having four home runs, 19 RBI and a .385/.467/.603 line.

Jay Bruce clobbered a pair of home runs and drove home three, leading the Reds to a 7-2 victory over the Cardinals in St. Louis.

Bruce opened up the game's scoring with a solo blast off opposing starter Lance Lynn in the fourth inning, chipped in an RBI single in the sixth and added his second long ball in the eighth inning. It's been a disappointing year for the 27-year-old slugger, hitting just .217/.283/.377 with 18 homers and 65 RBI.

Yasmani Grandal doubled and had three RBI as the Padres bested the Giants 8-2 on Sunday.

Grandal brought home a run with a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning before belting a two-run double in the seventh. Grandal has now doubled in three straight contests and has scored a run in four straight games. The catcher, who has filled in at first base in Yonder Alonso's absence, is batting a paltry .219/.316/.388 overall this year.
Sep 21 - 10:35 PM

Josh Donaldson came up big for the A's Sunday, hitting a two-run, walk-off homer in the 10th inning to defeat the Phillies 8-6.

Donaldson had singled twice and scored twice in the game prior to coming up with a man on in the 10th inning. He proceeded to take Phillies reliever Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez deep to send everyone home happy. Donaldson now has 28 home runs, 97 RBI and 89 runs scored this year. Three more RBI over the final week will represent Donaldson's first ever 100-RBI season.
Sep 21 - 9:58 PM

Wilin Rosario went 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored as the Rockies completed a four-game sweep of the Diamondbacks with Sunday's 8-3 win.

Rosario was the man on the spot for the Rockies, scoring runs in the third, fifth and seventh innings. Rosario is red hot in recent games, hitting .700 (14-for-20) with two home runs, nine RBI and eight runs scored in the past five games. The unconscious stretch has his overall line up to .273/.310/.440 as he attempts to salvage a largely pedestrian season.
Sep 21 - 9:12 PM

Mark Trumbo homered twice and had three RBI in a loss to the Rockies on Sunday.

Trumbo's blasts provided all the offense for the Diamondbacks in the loss. He hit a two-run shot in the sixth inning before adding a solo shot in the ninth. Trumbo now has 11 home runs and 53 RBI to go with a .239/.300/.403 line.
Sep 21 - 9:06 PM

Michael Cuddyer homered in his third straight game against the Diamondbacks Sunday.

During the four-game set, Cuddyer hit a solo homer on Thursday and a grand slam Friday before getting Saturday off. He came back to whack another solo home run Sunday, his 10th in 171 at-bats this year. Injuries marred Cuddyer's season, but the 35-year-old showed he can still hit when healthy -- his line is up to .333/.378/.602 after the homer binge.
Sep 21 - 9:03 PM

Ryan Rua hit a solo home run in the ninth inning to give the Rangers a 2-1 win over the Angels on Sunday.

It was a good time for Rua's first career home run, as the game was tied and the Angels had closer Huston Street on the hill. Rua has been very good in a 21-game stint with the club, batting .313/.329/.410 with 10 RBI and 10 runs scored.
Sep 21 - 8:36 PM

Matt Kemp went 4-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in the Dodgers' 8-5 victory over the Cubs on Sunday.

It seemed like every time Kemp stepped to the plate he had a chance to drive someone in -- usually Yasiel Puig -- and he came through in three different instances. The big blow was a two-run homer in the third, his 23rd home run on the year. Kemp has shaken off a slow start to turn in another strong year at the plate, hitting .286/.347/.498 with 84 RBI and 73 runs scored with a handful of games left to play.
Sep 21 - 8:09 PM

Jake Marisnick went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI as the Astros downed the Mariners 8-3 on Sunday.

With a one-run lead in the seventh inning, Marisnick blew the game wide open with a three-run shot off Mariners reliever Yoervis Medina. The homer was Marisnick's third of the year and his second in the past two games. He also scored the first run of the game on a wild pitch. The multi-faceted outfielder is hitting .276 since moving to the American League and is slashing .250/.285/.325 with 11 steals and three homers overall.
Sep 21 - 7:33 PM

Greg Holland worked a perfect ninth inning to preserve the Royals' 5-2 win over the Tigers on Sunday.

Holland has appeared in three games since dealing with some biceps tightness, but Sunday was his first save chance since his return. He passed that test with flying colors, striking out two in the 1-2-3 inning. Holland now has 43 saves to go with a 1.52 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 86/19 K/BB ratio over 59 1/3 innings. Now healthy, Holland is once again one of the elite closers in the game.
Sep 21 - 6:52 PM

Corey Kluber did it again Sunday, striking out 14 while allowing two runs over seven innings in the Indians' 7-2 win over the Twins.

The start was the second consecutive start in which Kluber has fanned 14, giving him an MLB-best 258 strikeouts on the year. The win was Kluber's fourth straight, moving him to 17-9 with a 2.53 ERA on the year. Felix Hernandez may have the lead in the AL Cy Young discussion, but the Klubot will have one more shot at convincing voters of his deservedness when he faces the Rays on Saturday.
