Eugenio Suarez went 3-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's 12-9 win over the Twins.

Suarez hit a solo homer and RBI double in Detroit's seven-run third inning, walked in the fifth inning, and then tripled to right field in the seventh. The 22-year-old shortstop is batting .400 with a 1.500 OPS, three home runs, and eight runs scored through his first eight major league games. Regression is coming, but Suarez is worth owning in pretty much every standard fantasy league at the moment. He had promising numbers this season in the minors.

Jean Segura hit two home runs and knocked in three against Colorado.

Colorado starter Christian Bergman would probably prefer never to see Jean Segura again. Segura, who finished 3-for-5, hit both of his home runs against Bergman, effectively knocking him out. Segura hasn't been hitting for power this season, slugging only .321 on the year, which makes this game something Segura owners should enjoy. The second-year player has been hitting below .200 this month, which makes Friday's power outburst even more unexpected.

Wilson Ramos (hamstring) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Saturday with Double-A Harrisburg.

Ramos is expected to play about three or four games between Double-A and High-A Potomac. He's eligible to return next Thursday and it sounds like he should be ready if there are no setbacks.

A.J. Burnett allowed one run in a complete-game 5-1 victory over the Cardinals on Friday.

While Burnett didn't pile up the strikeouts (three in nine innings), he effectively scattered seven hits, only two of which went for extra-bases. The win brings Burnett to 5-6 on the season. He's been a workhorse of late, going eight innings against the Cubs last time out and now nine innings against the Cards. The sterling effort brings his ERA down to 3.89. He even hit a double and knocked in a run, just for fun.

Orioles optioned RHP Kevin Gausman to Triple-A Norfolk.

It's a little surprising to see Gausman be sent down given how he has pitched recently, but the Orioles would like to add another reliever. On the bright side, the 23-year-old could return to pitch in next Friday's doubleheader against the Rays. We're guessing they plan to do exactly that.
Jun 21 - 12:32 AM

Evan Gattis delivered a go-ahead RBI single in a 6-4 win over the Nationals in 13 innings on Friday night.

Gattis extended his hitting streak to 19 games with a single in the fifth inning and he played hero in the 13th by knocking in B.J. Upton with the go-ahead run on a single off Jerry Blevins. The 27-year-old is now batting .298/.347/.576 with 16 home runs and 39 RBI over 57 games this season. Only Nolan Arenado (27 games) has had a longer hitting streak in MLB this year.
Jun 21 - 12:18 AM

Edwin Encarnacion homered twice and drove in six runs in a 14-9 comeback victory over the Reds on Friday.

The Blue Jays trailed 8-0 and 9-3 in this one, but battled all the way back to win rather comfortably. It was the second-biggest comeback victory in franchise history. Encarnacion had a three-run homer in the third inning and added another one in the ninth inning to provide some extra insurance. It was his sixth multi-homer game of the season. He now leads the majors with 23 home runs and 62 RBI.
Jun 21 - 12:01 AM

Brian Dozier hit a walk-off RBI single in a 5-4 win over the White Sox on Friday.

It was Dozier's only hit of the game (he went 1-for-5), but he made it count. After Glen Perkins blew a 4-2 lead, the Sox brought in Daniel Webb to preserve the 4-4 tie. He walked two and Ronald Belesario finished off Chicago's crumbling ninth by allowing the single. Dozier's having one of the better seasons by a second baseman in the AL, slashing .238/.350/.447 to go with 15 steals.
Jun 20 - 11:55 PM

Jose Abreu hit his 21st home run of the season against the Twins on Friday.

He smacked the solo shot off of Ricky Nolasco in the top of the first inning, giving him 21 homers and 54 RBI. Abreu stands one off the major league home run lead held by Nelson Cruz. At this point, we're running out of superlatives for the Cuban rookie. In the month of June, the slugger is hitting .293/.344/.621. That's really good.
Jun 20 - 11:44 PM

Carlos Beltran hit a walk-off three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning Friday for a 5-3 win over the Orioles.

The Yankee offense had been struggling all night until Zach Britton served up the three-run bomb to Beltran. It was Beltran's seventh of the season. He missed 21 games this season because of bone spurs in his elbow, but both the Yankees and fantasy owners should hope that tonight's dramatic winner sends him in the right direction. He also added a double. Positive signs as he tries to work himself up from his .227 average.
Jun 20 - 11:17 PM

Henderson Alvarez held the Mets scoreless over 6 1/3 innings on Friday as part of a 3-2 victory.

Alvarez got the victory, but he owes an assist to Marcell Ozuna, who threw out the potential tying run at the plate in both the eight and ninth innings. Alvarez gave up seven hits, but six of them were singles. He also struck out five batters without issuing a walk. The 24-year-old has now thrown 18 1/3 consecutive scoreless innings against the Mets and owns a 1.44 ERA at home this season. The strikeouts aren't always going to be there, but Alvarez is an undervalued asset in fantasy leagues.
Jun 20 - 11:06 PM

Jareed Cosart fired eight scoreless innings in Friday's 3-1 win over the Rays.

Cosart took advantage of a struggling Tampa Bay offense to make his longest start of the year. He scattered six hits (all of them singles) while walking one and striking out a pair. The young right-hander has now allowed three earned runs or fewer in 11 consecutive starts and owns a solid 3.78 ERA on the year. While he struggled with his control early on in the season, he has walked two batters or fewer in each of his last five starts. He'll try to keep the momentum going next week against the Braves at home.
