Ian Krol dealt with some discomfort in his left shoulder during his last appearance on Saturday.

Krol said it's something he usually deals with each year, and he's already feeling better. "I've had the same thing [in the past]," Krol said before Monday's game. "It's not pain, just aggravating." It's not clear whether Krol will be available Monday, but it sounds like this isn't a long-term concern.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that Andrew Miller (forearm) will be activated Wednesday.

Miller allowed two hits and struck out one batter in a scoreless inning Monday in a minor league rehab appearance with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The southpaw has been out for a month with a left forearm strain, but one appearance is all he needed to convince the Yankees that he was ready. Dellin Betances has been handling save chances, but it's likely that Miller is moved back into the closer role upon his return.

Kolten Wong left Tuesday's game against the Cubs in the seventh inning with a head contusion.

Wong appeared shaken up after making a diving catch to end the fifth inning. He stayed in the game initially, but apparently wasn't feeling right. It's unclear if he'll be checked out for a concussion, but the Cardinals should pass along an update soon.
Jul 7 - 3:42 PM

Yunel Escobar (hamstring) is out of Tuesday's lineup against the Reds.

Escobar is getting a day off after leaving Monday's game with left hamstring tightness. Danny Espinosa will start at third base while Dan Uggla plays second base.
Jul 7 - 3:19 PM

Denard Span (back) is out of Tuesday's lineup against the Reds.

Span left Monday's game with back spasms. It's been a lingering issue for him, but he can be considered day-to-day right now. Michael Taylor will start in center field and hit leadoff Tuesday while Matt den Dekker will play left.
Jul 7 - 3:16 PM

Brewers activated OF Khris Davis from the 15-day disabled list.

He'll start in left field Tuesday night against the Braves. Davis has been out since late May with a torn meniscus in his right knee. He returns to a .250/.337/.446 batting line with five homers and 16 RBI over 46 games.
Jul 7 - 3:03 PM

Starling Marte (oblique) is out of Tuesday's lineup against the Padres.

Marte left Sunday's game with discomfort in his left side and will now miss his second straight start. He's considered day-to-day right now, but fantasy owners would be wise to have a backup plan this week. Sean Rodriguez will start in left field Tuesday.
Jul 7 - 2:45 PM

Rays placed OF Steven Souza on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 6, with a right pinkie finger laceration.

Souza suffered the injury when he was hit by a pitch on Sunday. The good news is that he's not dealing with a fracture or tendon damage, but he'll get some extended rest. The 26-year-old is batting .210/.301/.417 with 15 homers, 33 RBI, and 10 steals over 79 games this season.
Jul 7 - 11:13 AM

Rays activated C John Jaso from the 60-day disabled list.

Jaso has been out since Opening Day with a bruised left wrist, but he's finally back to 100 percent. He figures to see semi-regular at-bats out of the DH spot, which makes him a sneaky add in deeper fantasy leagues.
Jul 7 - 11:09 AM

Rafael Soriano tossed a scoreless inning Monday in his first appearance with Double-A Tennessee.

Soriano, who signed with the Cubs last month, allowed one hit and struck out three batters in the inning. The veteran reliever figures to make a handful of tune-up appearances, which puts him on track to join the major league roster after the All-Star break. Cubs manager Joe Maddon isn't going with a set closer right now, so it's possible Soriano could get some save chances in the second half.

Lorenzo Cain (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Rays.

Cain aggravated his left hamstring on Sunday and is expected to miss a couple of days. Paulo Orlando will start in center field.
Jul 7 - 10:49 AM

Andrew Miller (forearm) allowed two hits in a scoreless inning Monday in his first minor league rehab appearance with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Miller struck out one batter in the inning. He might only need one rehab appearance before being activated. The southpaw has been out for a month with a strained left forearm. Dellin Betances has been handling closing duties during his absence.
