Andrew McCutchen will bat leadoff and play center field for the National League in Tuesday's All-Star Game.

McCutchen hit .324/.420/.575 in the first half of the 2014 season and is currently sporting the highest OPS+ (179) of any NL player. The full National League lineup: CF Andrew McCutchen, RF Yasiel Puig, SS Troy Tulowitzki, 1B Paul Goldschmidt, DH Giancarlo Stanton, 3B Aramis Ramirez, 2B Chase Utley, C Jonathan Lucroy, LF Carlos Gomez. Adam Wainwright is the starting pitcher.

Javier Baez went 2-for-6 with a solo home run and two-run double to help the Cubs outlast the Rockies 9-7 on Sunday.

Baez hit a no-doubter to the deepest part of the park in the second inning, and he later tacked on a two-RBI double in the seventh to extend the Cubs' lead. The homer was his seventh of the year, and the second baseman leads the National League with 23 RBI. He's hitting .292/.363/.736 through 19 games, and after a breakout last season, this year could be the one in which Baez becomes a star.
Apr 22 - 7:41 PM

Adrian Beltre went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and three runs scored to lead the Rangers past the Mariners 7-4 on Sunday.

Beltre was in the middle of the action Sunday, scoring in the second, fourth and eighth innings to help the Rangers avoid a sweep. He's now got 10 runs on the year, and the two-hit game brought his line up to .300/.366/.425. The power hasn't come yet, but the 39-year-old remains a productive player regardless.
Apr 22 - 7:10 PM

Mitch Haniger went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a homer and three RBI in a loss to the Rangers on Sunday.

Haniger swatted an RBI double in the fifth inning before launching a two-run shot off reliever Matt Bush in the seventh. He's now homered in each of the last three games, and it was the second time in three days that he picked up three hits in a contest. He's tied for third in the American League with his seven homers, and his 22 RBI are second-most. The 27-year-old is slashing .314/.390/.671 through 20 games.
Apr 22 - 7:07 PM

Yadier Molina went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored as the Cardinals completed a three-game sweep of the Reds with Sunday's 9-2 win.

Molina had three of the Cardinals' 12 hits as they jumped on starter Luis Castillo and the Reds bullpen. The backstop has been hitting so well that manager Mike Matheny recently moved him to the No. 2 spot in the lineup, despite his subpar running ability. He's responded with a couple more good games, raising his line to .316/.333/.592 with six homers and 16 RBI in 20 games.
Apr 22 - 6:36 PM

Nationals placed INF Anthony Rendon on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to April 19, with a left toe injury.

Rendon fouled a pitch off of his foot more than a week ago, and the club tried to take it day-by-day with him, but he's still very sore. He'll be eligible to return at the end of next week.
Apr 22 - 6:09 PM

Carlos Correa went 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored in a 7-1 victory over the White Sox on Sunday.

Correa also walked twice, and he reached four times without putting himself out in the victory. He now owns a .309 average on the young season, and his .409 on-base percentage and .584 slugging percentage are among the leaders among shortstops in the American League, as well. It's early, but Correa is well on his way to having another spectacular campaign in 2018.
Apr 22 - 5:38 PM

Aaron Altherr hit a walk-off single to give the Phillies a 3-2 victory over the Pirates on Sunday in 11 innings.

Altherr had two other hits in the game, but the big one was an RBI single off of Richard Rodriguez to give the Phillies the win, and a four-game sweep of the Pirates over the weekend. Altherr has gotten off to a slow start on his season, but he's shown flashes of late, and should soon his .157/.283/.333 line rise over the next few weeks.
Apr 22 - 5:23 PM

Christian Yelich hit a two-run home run to help the Brewers complete a four-game sweep of the Marlins with a 4-2 win Sunday.

Yelich hit an absolute laser to center field off southpaw Caleb Smith in the fourth inning, clearing the wall to give the Brewers a lead they wouldn't relinquish. It was his second homer in 11 games this year, giving him eight RBI and 10 runs scored. The big offseason acquisition -- from those same Marlins he helped defeat -- has been as advertised when healthy, slashing .333/.429/.571 on the year.
Apr 22 - 5:12 PM

Carlos Gomez hit a walk-off two-run homer in Tampa Bay's 8-6 victory over the Twins on Sunday.

The homer came off of Addison Reed, and it is third homer of the season for Gomez. The veteran outfielder has gotten off to a horrific start to his time with the Rays, and even with the homer his OPS sits at just .536. It's early, however, and Gomez is too talented to have these paltry numbers all season.
Apr 22 - 4:56 PM

Mike Moustakas hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the seventh to help the Royals beat the Tigers 8-5 on Sunday.

The homer came off of Buck Farmer, and it broke a 5-5 tie in the bottom of the seventh. He now has six homers on the season, and he's slugging a robust .612 mark on his 2018 campaign. In what is clearly a rebuilding year for the Royals, we should start hearing trade rumors about Moustakas soon. It won't matter where he's playing if he keeps hitting like this in terms of his fantasy value.
Apr 22 - 4:34 PM

Manny Machado homered twice in a 7-3 loss to the Indians on Sunday.

Both homer came off of Corey Kluber, and Machado now has eight on the season. The Orioles aren't very good, but Machado is. He now has a .356/.434/.713 line to begin his 2018 campaign. We wonder when we'll start hearing the trade rumors for the 25-year-old shortstop, as it's pretty clear that Baltimore isn't going to contend in Machado's last year under contract.
