Chris Sale delivered eight shutout innings Saturday to lead the White Sox past the Twins 7-0.

Sale carved his way easily through the punchless Minnesota lineup, allowing only five hits and two walks while fanning 12 batters. He's now 10-1 on the season with a brilliant 1.88 ERA, 0.86 WHIP, and 122/19 K/BB ratio in 110 innings. The ace left-hander will face the Twins again next week and should dominate.

Edwin Encarnacion went 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBI on Friday, leading the Indians to a 13-3 rout over the Blue Jays.

Encarnacion was responsible for the bulk of the damage against his former club. He got the Indians on the board with a solo shot off of Marco Estrada in the second inning then added on a two-run double in the fifth to give them a 5-3 lead. He also added an RBI single during the eight-run seventh inning. With the three-hit attack, Encarnacion is hitting .261/.372/.485 with 20 homers and 54 RBI in his first season with the Tribe.

Yu Darvish struck out 12 batters while allowing three runs over eight innings in a no-decision against the Rays on Friday.

Darvish gave up five hits on the night, three of which were solo homers. Shin-Soo Choo took him off the hook for the loss with a game-tying homer in the ninth inning, but he remains winless dating back to June 12. This was Darvish’s 32nd career double-digit strikeout game, good enough for second in team history. Nolan Ryan ranks first with 34 of them. With Darvish’s name circulating in trade rumors, he might not get many more chances to climb that list.

Aaron Nola held the Brewers to just one run over eight innings as part of a 6-1 victory on Friday.

Nola gave up a solo homer to Brett Phillips in the second inning, but otherwise he held the Brewers off the board. He tied a career-high with nine strikeouts and walked a pair in the victory. Nola now owns a 1.70 ERA over his last six starts, once again showing that he’s capable of being a frontline starter when healthy.

Miguel Cabrera was removed from Friday's game against the Twins with an apparent injury after taking a ground ball to his chest.

Cabrera was drilled in the chest by a hard ground ball off the bat of Robbie Grossman in the fourth inning. The ball took a bad hop and hit him under his chin. While he was able to remain in the game and finish the inning defensively, he was pinch hit for during the next half inning. The Tigers should have an update on his status after the game.

Mike Fiers was outstanding in Friday's victory over the Orioles, racking up nine strikeouts over seven innings of one-run ball.

Fiers scattered six hits and a walk on the impressive evening. The only blemish on his night came on an RBI single by Jonathan Schoop in the third inning. He has been pitching out of his mind for awhile now, compiling a 2.36 ERA over his last 10 starts. He'll carry a 3.59 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 107/38 K/BB ratio into Wednesday's matchup against the Phillies in Philadelphia.

Ryon Healy was forced to leave Friday's game against the Mets after taking a ground ball to the face.

The ball was sharply hit, took a bad hop and appeared to hit him in the left temple area. Healy looked very shaken up afterwards and will head for further examination. Yonder Alonso replaced him in the field in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Dexter Fowler reached base four times and stole a base in the Cardinals' comeback victory over the Cubs on Friday.

Fowler doubled in a run in the third inning and had a pair of singles. That's in addition to a walk that he drew as part of the Cardinals' nine-run eighth inning that turned a one-run deficit into an eight-run lead. The stolen base was only Fowler's fourth of the season and he's been caught three times, which is disappointing for a guy who swiped 33 bags over the previous two years with the Cubs. The nagging heel issue he's had could be a factor in his running game, and his OBP being down at .336 hasn't helped, either.

Anthony DeSclafani (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with the Arizona League Reds on Sunday.

He's slated to go three innings in what will be his first game action of the season. DeSclafani will surely need his full 30-day rehab allotment, but if all goes well, that could put him in line to rejoin the Reds' rotation by late August. The righty is trying to pitch through a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament.

Ryan Braun (calf, wrist) said Friday that he expects to return to the Brewers' lineup Saturday.

Braun also revealed that he's dealt with a sore right wrist all season and he received a cortisone shot before the All-Star break. The veteran outfielder is also still battling a nagging left calf injury.

Kevin Kiermaier (hip) said Friday that he expects to begin a rehab assignment "in the next week or so."

Kiermaier's recovery from a fractured hip is going very well, and he expects to be ready for activation from the disabled list when first eligible on August 9. The speedy outfielder is a good stash option in fantasy leagues where he was dropped.

Jaime Garcia is expected to make his scheduled start with the Braves on Friday against the Dodgers.

Jon Morosi of MLB Network reported Thursday that the Braves had agreed to trade Garcia to the Twins, but at the very least the deal appears to be on life support, if not dead. ESPN's Jerry Crasnick says that the Braves are "still talking to a number of clubs" about the left-hander.
