Diamondbacks signed LHP Clayton Richard to a minor league contract.

He'll make a start for the Arizona League Diamondbacks this weekend. Richard underwent AC joint surgery last summer and thoracic outlet surgery over the offseason but is finally ready for game action again after a long rehab. He could possibly come up with the D'Backs in September if he looks good in the minors.

Rougned Odor (finger) is back in the Rangers' lineup Monday.

It's Odor's first start since he cracked the fingernail on his right middle finger last Tuesday. The young infielder has hit .336/.369/.581 since returning from the minors.
Aug 31 - 5:30 PM

Yunel Escobar (hand) is back in the Nationals' lineup Monday.

It's his first game since he was hit on the right hand by a pitch last Thursday. Escobar has had a surprisingly nice season with a .308/.367/.423 batting line and nine homers.
Aug 31 - 4:43 PM

Mark Teixeira (shin) has been sent back to New York to undergo more tests and has been ruled out for the series versus the Red Sox.

The Yankees wish they had a mulligan on this one, as it's clear Teixeira should have been placed on the disabled list a while ago. As it is, they won't make a move now with rosters expanding on Tuesday. Obviously more will be known when the test results come back, but Teixeira is simply in too much pain to play now. Alex Rodriguez is expected to get a start at first base on Wednesday, but Greg Bird will continue to play versus righties.
Aug 31 - 4:29 PM

Carlos Correa (hamstring) is back in the Astros' lineup Monday.

Correa missed four games with a strained left hamstring, but he felt fine while running the bases and doing agility drills Monday. The stud shortstop sports a .278/.347/.510 batting line with 15 homers, 43 RBI and 11 steals over 68 games.
Aug 31 - 4:25 PM

Dustin Pedroia (hamstring) has been cleared to ramp up his baseball activities.

Pedroia has been coming around slowly but surely and looks to still be in line to return on September 10. The Red Sox' second baseman has been dealing with a right hamstring issue since the end of June.
Aug 31 - 4:22 PM

Lucas Duda (back) is not expected to be activated from the disabled list when first eligible on September 6.

Mets manager Terry Collins hasn't officially ruled Duda out for this weekend, but it's looking very unlikely since he's yet to be cleared to take any swings. Duda is dealing with a small thoracic disc herniation in his back and has been taking anti-inflammatories and doing exercises to combat the issue. More should be known on his status later in the week.
Aug 31 - 4:19 PM

Ben Revere is leading off for the Blue Jays again on Monday night against the Indians.

Revere also hit there Sunday and went 0-for-4 with a walk in the Blue Jays' win over the Tigers. He's not the best fit to bat first in the loaded Toronto lineup, but it does obviously give a huge boost to his fantasy stock.
Aug 31 - 3:58 PM

Manny Machado is getting his first major league start at shortstop on Monday night against the Rays.

He'll also bat leadoff. Machado has made all 419 of his major league starts at third base, but the O's are apparently going to try out some different looks as they play out the string in a disappointing 2015 season.
Aug 31 - 3:46 PM

Michael Foltynewicz has been scratched from his scheduled start Monday due to fever and viral symptoms.

Shelby Miller is going to take the mound instead against the Marlins. He'll be pitching on regular rest because of Thursday's team off day. Foltynewicz, who owns a rough 5.71 ERA in 86 2/3 innings this year, should be ready to rejoin the rotation later in the week.
Aug 31 - 3:36 PM

Christian Yelich (knee, ankle) is out of the Marlins' starting lineup Monday versus the Braves.

Yelich singled as a pinch-hitter on Sunday against the Nationals, but he's still not ready to play a full game. The 23-year-old fouled a ball off his ankle last Wednesday and also has a bruised right knee. Derek Dietrich is in left field for Miami on Monday night.
Aug 31 - 3:22 PM

Hanley Ramirez (shoulder) is out of the Red Sox lineup again on Monday night against the Yankees.

Ramirez missed Boston's entire weekend series against the Mets with fatigue in his left shoulder. He's been bothered by several injuries throughout 2015 but has yet to spend a day on the disabled list. It's been a source of frustration for fantasy owners, and it's not clear how long this current absence is going to last.
