Pedro Moura of the Orange County Register said Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti strongly indicated Matt Kemp wouldn't be dealt before Thursday's trade deadline.

Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times quoted Colletti as saying, "No one's ever heard me say we're shopping Matt Kemp. That's all in another world." The Kemp rumors have generally been one-sided, with the Dodgers playing the role of the team listening, so it stands to reason that Kemp will remain with the club barring a strong offer before the deadline.

Gary Sanchez made an early exit from Tuesday's game against the Rangers due to cramping in his calf.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters after the game that it's nothing serious, though Sanchez may need a day off. He was 0-for-1 with two walks before exiting in the sixth inning. The 25-year-old catcher is slashing .230/.331/.547 with 12 home runs and 33 RBI in 41 games this season.

Ozzie Albies clubbed a solo home run, reached base three times and scored three runs in the Braves' win over the Phillies on Tuesday.

Albies briefly tied Bryce Harper for the National League lead in home runs with his 14th in the third inning before Harper later went deep to retake solo possession of the lead. He also singled and walked and with his three runs in this one and now leads the NL by eight with his 45 runs scored.

Mitch Haniger was removed from Tuesday's game against the Athletics after getting hit on the elbow by a pitch.

Trevor Cahill plunked him to lead off the top of the fourth inning. Haniger remained in the game initially, but Andrew Romine replaced him in right field in the bottom of the fifth. It's likely a day-to-day situation.

Trevor Bauer held the Cubs off the scoreboard for six innings Tuesday, picking up his fourth victory in the Indians’ 10-1 win.

Six of the seven hits Bauer surrendered on the night were singles, and he walked two while notching six strikeouts. The right-hander was knocked around by the Royals a couple starts ago to push his ERA up to 3.00, but it’s back down to 2.35 after 14 scoreless frames over his last two outings. He’ll face a tall task in keeping the scoreless streak going on Sunday against the Astros.

Jose Ramirez slugged a three-run home run and reached base four times Tuesday against the Cubs.

Ramirez deposited a Tyler Chatwood offering into the basket in right field at Wrigley in the third inning to get the scoring going and the Indians never looked back. He also added three walks on the night to push his on-base percentage for the season up to .394. Ramirez is tied for fifth in baseball with his 14 dingers.

Caleb Smith delivered another dominant performance in Tuesday's victory over the Mets, racking up eight strikeouts over 6 2/3 innings of one-run baseball.

Smith scattered just three hits and two walks in the game. The only run that he allowed came on a Thomas Nido sacrifice fly in the second inning. The 26-year-old southpaw has been unexpectedly relevant in fantasy leagues this season, ranking 17th in all of baseball with 65 strikeouts. He'll carry a 3.83 ERA and 1.22 WHIP into Monday's start against the Padres in San Diego. He's still owned in only 24 percent of all Yahoo leagues and makes for a very intriguing addition in lieu of his double start week on tap against the Padres and Diamondbacks.
May 22 - 10:39 PM

Jeremy Hellickson left his start Tuesday night against the Padres due to a blister on his right hand.

It doesn't sound like a serious concern, though it's possible Hellickson's next turn will be pushed back a few days. The 31-year-old right-hander tossed 5 1/3 innings of one-run ball before departing and he now boasts a 2.13 ERA, 0.89 WHIP, and 31/6 K/BB ratio in 38 total innings (seven starts) this season for the Nationals.
May 22 - 10:30 PM

Matt Boyd exited his start Tuesday night against the Twins due to a left oblique spasm.

Boyd departed with a trainer after walking the first two batters he faced in the bottom of the fifth inning, and both of those runners would eventually come around to score. He had worked four scoreless innings before that, yielding just one hit. If it's truly just a spasm, and not an oblique strain, Boyd should be able to avoid the disabled list. He'll be reevaluated in a couple of days.

Mookie Betts blasted his league-leading 16th home run of the season, powering the Red Sox to a 4-2 victory over the Rays on Tuesday.

Betts clobbered a three-run shot off of Rays' starter Jake Faria in the third inning, proving to be the difference in the ballgame. He also singled, finishing the night 2-for-4. He has been absolutely absurd at the plate this season, slashing a jaw-dropping .368/.439/.772 with 16 homers, 35 RBI and 11 stolen bases.
May 22 - 10:06 PM

Willy Adames had a very memorable MLB debut in Tuesday's loss to the Red Sox, crushing a solo home run off of Chris Sale.

Adams struck out in his first at-bat with a pair of runners on base in the first inning. He made a statement in his next trip to the plate, crushing a 1-0 offering from Chris Sale over the wall in left field to get the Rays on the board. He would go on to whiff in each of his final two at-bats, finishing the night 1-for-4. The 22-year-old top prospect is only supposed to be with the Rays for a couple of days while Joey Wendle is away on paternity leave, but he made a statement on Tuesday that perhaps he deserves a longer look. It's still unlikely that he sticks around long enough to be relevant from a mixed league perspective.
May 22 - 10:06 PM

Wilson Ramos left Tuesday's game against the Red Sox with a left hand contusion.

Ramos was struck on the glove hand by a ball in the top of the third inning. It's unclear if X-rays were taken, but the Rays are listing him as day-to-day -- which is promising. The 30-year-old catcher has been on fire lately and could be big-time trade bait for Tampa Bay this summer.
