Billy Hamilton went 2-for-5 with an RBI, stolen base and three runs scored as the Reds beat the Marlins 7-3 on Sunday.

Hamilton scored a run in the fourth, had an RBI single and a run scored in the fourth and also scored in the sixth. The stolen base was his 43rd of the season, trailing only Dee Gordon in the National League. The question before the season was whether Hamilton could hit enough to stick in the league, but his .273/.301/.402 line to this point has effectively answered those questions.

Mike Soroka (shoulder) is on track to begin a rehab assignment later this week.

Soroka was placed on the disabled list a couple weeks ago after feeling tightness in the back of his shoulder during a start, but an MRI came back negative and he will throw another bullpen session Sunday or Monday. It's unclear how many rehab starts he'll require, but the young righty should go back into the Braves' rotation once he's ready.

Mark Trumbo (knee) could be back in the Orioles' lineup Monday.

Trumbo is missing a fifth straight start Sunday, but he might be available off the bench. He was diagnosed with arthritis and chondromalacia in his right knee but has made a quicker-than-expected recovery.

Jean Segura went through concussion tests after being removed from Saturday's game versus the Twins when he was kicked in the head.

Segura was kicked in the head by Gregorio Petit while he slid into second base trying to break up a double play in the eighth inning. Manager Scott Servais said after the game that the team would know more about Segura's condition on Sunday, so we should get an update before long.

Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area writes that the Giants might consider releasing Hunter Pence (thumb).

How strong of a possibility it is isn't known, but Pence has six days left on his rehab assignment and it doesn't appear the Giants know what they're going to do with him yet. Manager Bruce Bochy has already said that Mac Williamson will be the team's regular left fielder, so Pence is looking at a reduced role. Pavlovic also writes that Pence has revamped his swing with the help of Doug Latta, who has worked with Williamson and Justin Turner. Pence is 20-for-54 at the plate on his rehab assignment since working with Latta, hitting three doubles and a grand slam.

Justin Upton (forearm) is not in the Angels' lineup Sunday but is expected to be ready to play in a day or two.

Upton has a bruised left forearm as a result of a hit by pitch Saturday, but he's feeling better. Chris Young will fill in for him in left field. The Halos are also giving Albert Pujols a day off, as Luis Valbuena is at first base and Shohei Ohtani is in the designated hitter spot and batting cleanup.

White Sox manager Rick Renteria said Sunday that there's an "outside possibility" Matt Davidson (back) will be placed on the disabled list.

Davidson was slated to return to action Saturday before being scratched and he'll now miss a fifth straight game Sunday because of back stiffness. He will be re-evaluated later Sunday and again Monday morning before the club determines whether a DL move is needed. Jose Rondon is in the designated hitter spot Sunday.

Madison Bumgarner (finger) struck out eight across 3 2/3 hitless innings in his first rehab start with Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday.

Bumgarner walked one batter and that was the only baserunner he allowed as he threw 47 pitches over his 3 2/3 frames. He also singled in his only plate appearance. Giants manager Bruce Bochy said earlier this month that he expected Bumgarner to make at least three rehab starts, with his next one scheduled for Thursday with High-A San Jose. For what it's worth, Bumgarner thinks he could return sooner if necessary. "I obviously didn't know before today, but judging off the way I felt out there, I think so for sure," Bumgarner said. "I wouldn't say I'd be back and be in midseason form, but I feel definitely good enough to get some outs." Whether the Giants consider moving up MadBum's timetable remains to be seen, but if anyone could make a quicker-than-expected return, it's probably Bumgarner.

Mike Zunino hit a walk-off homer in the bottom of the 12th inning to give the Mariners a 4-3 win on Saturday in 12 innings.

Zunino was having a miserable night before the blast; going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts. One swing of the bat changes miserable night to hero. It's the eighth homer of the season for the backstop, and it came off of Matt Magill with two outs and no one on. Zunino is still hitting just .198, but he's slugging .432. Another hot run could be coming soon for one of the streakiest players in all of baseball.

Christian Villanueva homered twice and drove in three runs in a 7-5 victory over the Dodgers on Saturday.

Villanueva's first blast came off of Alex Wood in the sixth inning with a runner on, and he added insurance with a solo shot off of Josh Fields. The surprising slugger now has 14 homers on the season, and while he's not hitting for average like he was at the beginning of the year, the power is still very much there. Villanueva now owns an .887 OPS over his 44 games this year. He's one of the best stories to begin the 2018 season.

Edwin Encarnacion went 3-for-3 with a two-run home run and three runs scored, and the Indians outlasted the Astros 8-6 on Saturday.

The two sides combined for six homers in the contest, and Encarnacion and his parrot got in on the action with a two-run shot in the fifth inning. He's now got 11 homers on the year, and the 35-year-old has begun to heat up in recent days, picking up five hits in his last seven at-bats. Fantasy owners have been waiting for his usual summer warm-up, and perhaps this is the beginning of a big stretch for Encarnacion.
May 27 - 12:30 AM

Jose Altuve had a huge game Saturday against the Indians, finishing 4-for-4 with a triple, a homer, two RBI, two stolen bases and three runs scored.

When we talk about five-category contributors we usually don't mean that they contribute all five categories in one game, but then again, Altuve isn't usual in many aspects. The homer was arguably the most surprising aspect of the line, as he's got just three homers in 53 games this year. The diminutive second baseman is hitting .321/.369/.447 with 26 RBI, 30 runs scored and six steals overall.
