David Murphy hit a two-run, game-tying home run in the ninth inning, and the Indians came back to beat the Rangers 4-3 in 12 innings on Sunday.

Murphy hit an RBI double in the third inning against Rangers starter Yu Darvish, but his two-run home run off closer Neftali Feliz in the ninth was the big blast. Murphy also walked twice, reaching base in four of his five plate appearances. The outfielder is hitting .261/.324/.387 with a surprising 53 RBI through 103 games this year.

Jeurys Familia notched his first save since May 5 in Friday’s 7-6 win over the Nationals.

A.J. Ramos got the call to begin the ninth inning to protect a one-run lead, but he was pulled after walking Wilmer Difo to begin to frame and giving up a one-out single to Howie Kendrick. Josh Smoker induced a fly out to shallow left field before Familia struck out Victor Robles to end the game. Ramos is coming off his first blown save with the Mets, so there could be an opening for Familia to see more chances the rest of the way. He should go into spring training next year as the favorite for the closer role.

Rafael Devers went 2-for-4 with a go-ahead three-run homer in Friday’s 5-4 victory over the Reds.

It was part of a four-run fourth inning against Sal Romano. The homer was his first since way back on August 19, snapping a streak of 116 plate appearances. Devers is hitting .333 (18-for-54) over his last 13 games, so he has been hitting recently despite the lack of power. His defense at third base is the more pressing issue with the playoffs approaching.

Wilson Ramos went 3-for-4 with a grand slam on Friday, powering the Rays to an 8-3 victory over the Orioles.

His bases-clearing blast off of Ubaldo Jimenez gave the Rays a 4-0 lead in the second inning. He also singled and doubled in the game. With the three-hit attack, he's hitting .262/.289/.446 with 10 homers and 30 RBI in his first 60 games with the Rays.

Aaron Judge went 2-for-2 with his AL-leading 46th homer, a double, and two walks Friday against the Blue Jays.

Judge provided the only offense of the game for the Yankees with a solo homer off Marco Estrada in the first inning. The 25-year-old fell into a miserable slump coming out of the All-Star break, but he’s turned things around in September by batting .286 (18-for-63) with nine homers, 20 RBI, 19 walks, and 21 runs scored. It’s a good sign for the Yankees with the playoffs approaching.

Bryce Harper (knee) ran the bases, shagged flyballs and took batting practice on Friday.

He hadn't been slated to take BP until Saturday, so the fact that it was moved up would seem to be a good sign. The goal for Harper, obviously, is to get a few games under his belt before the playoffs. He's been sidelined since mid-August with a bone bruise in his left knee and left calf strain.

Lance McCullers has officially been cleared to start Sunday against the White Sox.

McCullers hasn't started since September 6 due to arm fatigue, but he got through a bullpen session Wednesday with no issues. The righty has dealt with injuries and ineffectiveness in the second half, so he really needs to put up a couple nice outings here down the stretch for the Astros to feel good about giving him a start in the ALDS. Collin McHugh will be pushed back to Monday.

Braves manager Brian Snitker said Friday that it's possible Michael Foltynewicz (finger) won't make another start this season.

It was reported Thursday that the team was optimistic Foltynewicz would start on Monday after missing a turn with a laceration on his right index finger, but he's either had a setback or the Braves just decided not to push him. It would end a season filled with ups and down, as Folty has shown flashes of brilliance and struck out nearly a batter per inning, but he's ultimately posted a 4.79 ERA and 1.48 WHIP across 154 frames.

The Tigers will not offer manager Brad Ausmus a contract for next season.

General manager Al Avila announced the decision on Friday. It comes as no surprise, as Ausmus has seemingly been on the hot seat for a while now. The Tigers have gone 62-91 this season and will miss the postseason for the third straight year.
Sep 22 - 4:16 PM

Brett Gardner (shoulder) is not in the Yankees' lineup Friday.

Gardner left Wednesday's game after being hit on the shoulder by a pitch, and he's obviously still sore. He should be back in there Saturday. Clint Frazier is in left field. Greg Bird is also sitting out Friday in favor of Chase Headley, who will cover first base.
Sep 22 - 4:11 PM

Mets general manager Sandy Alderson indicated Friday that the team plans to tender Matt Harvey a contract this offseason.

There had been some speculation that the Mets could non-tender Harvey rather than pay him over $5 million in his final year of arbitration eligibility following an awful 2017 campaign. However, it appears that Harvey will come back for another year and the Mets will hope he can improve as he's further removed from thoracic outlet surgery. Harvey holds a 6.59 ERA over 17 starts this season.
Sep 22 - 4:00 PM

Noah Syndergaard (lat) will start Saturday's game against the Nationals and pitch one inning.

He'll be followed by Matt Harvey, who had been scheduled for the start. It will be Syndergaard's first appearance in the majors since late April, when he went down with a torn right lat muscle. Syndergaard would presumably be lined up for one final start next week, but you can't trust him in fantasy leagues given the long layoff and limited workload. More than anything else, this is more about giving Thor and the Mets some peace of mind about the right-hander's health going into the offseason.
