Yankees placed 2B Starlin Castro on the 10-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain.

Castro suffered the injury on Monday while running out a groundball. It's unclear at this point how long he'll be sidelined. Tyler Wade is replacing Castro on the roster and figures to play a lot at second base. Ronald Torreyes and Rob Refsnyder are also options there.

Finnegan re-injured himself on Monday while making his first start since mid-April. The Reds initially said is was a left triceps strain, but now they say he's dealing with another shoulder injury that's in a different spot that his first ailment. Padres activated OF Manuel Margot from the 10-day disabled list.

Margot has been sidelined for a little over a month with a strained calf. He went just 3-for-20 (.150) during his rehab assignment, but the rookie outfielder feels healthy and that's really all the Padres care about.

Jonathan Villar is not in the starting lineup Tuesday versus the Reds.

In other words, Villar is sitting in his return from the disabled list while the hot-hitting Eric Sogard will start at second base and hit leadoff. X-rays came back negative after Conforto was hit in the left wrist/hand by a pitch on Sunday, but he needs some more time before returning to the lineup. The Mets will go with Yoenis Cespedes, Curtis Granderson, and Jay Bruce across their outfield on Tuesday.

Blue Jays designated RHP Jason Grilli for assignment.

It's part of a host of moves for the Blue Jays, including the addition of Chris Smith to the bullpen. The 40-year-old Grilli has put up an unsightly 6.97 ERA over 26 appearances this season and the Blue Jays are now ready to move forward. It should be noted that Grilli's secondary numbers aren't nearly as bad, so he should attract some interest on the open market.

Braun, who has been out for a month with a calf strain, went 2-for-8 with a homer during a brief minor league rehab stint with Class A Wisconsin. The 33-year-old returns to a .262/.350/.524 batting line with seven home runs and 19 RBI over 30 games.
