Wilin Rosario went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI as the Rockies topped the Diamondbacks 5-3 in 10 innings Sunday.

Rosario hit his first home run since July 9 in the sixth inning, and he added an RBI single in the 10th. He's enjoyed a hot start to the month of August, posting four multi-hit games in seven starts thus far. He's got his line up to .255/.294/.415 with 10 home runs on the year.

Mets manager Terry Collins admitted after Tuesday's game that they "don’t know how long it will be" before Michael Conforto (hand) returns to the lineup.

Two rounds of X-rays confirmed that Conforto doesn't have a fracture in his left hand after he was hit by a pitch Sunday. However, the outfielder was still in enough pain Tuesday that he wasn't even able to grip a bat, let alone swing it. It's possible he'll show up Wednesday feeling much better, but for now Conforto's status remains cloudy. The Mets will use Yoenis Cespedes, Curtis Granderson and Jay Bruce in the outfield while Conforto is out.

Craig Mish of Fantasy Sports Radio reports that the Yankees are calling up third base prospect Miguel Andujar from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

It's unclear at this point what the corresponding move will be, but putting Matt Holliday (fatigue) on the disabled list is a possibility. Ranked by MLB.com as the Yankees' No. 9 prospect, Andujar has batted .312/.346/.491 with eight homers and 54 RBI between Double- and Triple-A this season. The 22-year-old should see some starts in the designated hitter spot while Holliday is out and also gives the Yanks an alternative at third base to the struggling Chase Headley. He's worth a shot in deeper formats.

Freddie Freeman (wrist) is hoping to be activated from the disabled list on July 9 for the beginning of a series versus the Nationals.

Freeman will take live batting practice Wednesday and if that goes well will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday. If he does indeed return on July 9, he'll have beat his initial timetable by three weeks. "Saturday game, then be off Sunday, play Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday," Freeman said, "then if I feel I can hit (Max) Scherzer’s heater, or whoever’s, then I’ll say I’m ready to roll and meet the team in D.C." The plan is still for Freeman to come back as a third baseman, a position he hasn't played since rookie ball. It will allow the Braves to keep hot-hitting Matt Adams in the lineup at first base.

Yunel Escobar collected a pair of singles over four at-bats in Tuesday's road loss against the Dodgers.

Escobar provided 40 percent of the hits for the Halos, as Kenta Maeda and two relievers pitched the shutout to get back on track after a rare loss in Monday's series opener. He has four consecutive multi-hit performances, and he has at least two hits in six of his past seven outings.

Adam Duvall blasted his 17th home run of the season on Tuesday, powering the Reds to an 8-6 victory over the Brewers.

Duvall clobbered a two-run shot off of Junior Guerra, increasing the Reds' lead to 3-0 in the first inning. He also doubled in the ballgame, finishing the night 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored. He's enjoying another terrific season offensively, slashing .278/.322/.544 with 17 bombs and 52 RBI.

Trea Turner went 2-for-5 and swiped four bases as the Nationals dispatched of the Cubs 6-1 on Tuesday.

Turner was instant offense for the Nationals in this one. He led off the game with an infield single then proceeded to swipe second and third base before scampering home on an infield single by Brian Goodwin. Next time up he walked in the third inning, again swiped second and third base, then scored on an error. His average continues to climb as well, hitting .267/.307/.406 with seven homers, 32 RBI and 32 stolen bases.

Max Scherzer earned his ninth victory of the season on Tuesday, limiting the Cubs to one run on two hits over his six innings of work.

The star right-hander struck out six and didn't issue a free pass in the contest. He allowed an RBI triple to Kris Bryant in the first inning, but was lights-out afterwards, retiring 16 of the final 17 batters he faced. Scherzer sports an outstanding 2.06 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 151/24 K/BB ratio through 113 2/3 innings on the season. He'll look for more of the same when he does battle against the Cardinals in St. Louis on Sunday.
Jun 27 - 10:57 PM

Alex Cobb carried a no-hit bid into the seventh inning in a no-decision against the Pirates on Tuesday.

Cobb punched out four and walked one on the night. Josh Harrison broke up the no-hit bid with a single leading off the seventh inning, which was followed by a single from Andrew McCutchen. Those would be the only two hits Cobb would allow over eight shutout innings. Unfortunately, Alex Colome was unable to protect his lead in the ninth. He'll head into Sunday's start against the Orioles in Baltimore with a 3.69 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 71/28 K/BB ratio.
Jun 27 - 10:34 PM

Kevin Gausman was terrific in Tuesday's victory over the Blue Jays, scattering four hits and two walks over 5 1/3 scoreless innings.

The right-hander punched out four on the night. While he has been nothing but a disaster for most of the season, he seems to own the Blue Jays and continues to pitch well against them each time out. He'll look to further improve upon a horrifying 6.07 ERA and 1.84 WHIP when he does battle against the Rays on Sunday.

Yasmany Tomas (groin) will begin a rehab assignment with the Diamondbacks' Arizona League team on Tuesday.

Tomas' recovery from a right groin injury has come along a little more slowly than expected, but he's ready to test things out in game action now. It's unclear how many rehab games he'll need before being activated, but a return within the next week or so would seem realistic. He's been out three and a half weeks.
Jun 27 - 10:03 PM

Robert Gsellman has been diagnosed with a left hamstring strain.

Gsellman tweaked his hammy while running out a grounder in the fourth inning in Miami. It seems likely that he'll need a disabled list stint, but the Mets should have more on his status after the game. Gsellman allowed three runs on five hits over five innings before being pulled.
