Noah Syndergaard (lat) will begin a throwing program Monday.

Syndergaard broke the news himself via his Twitter account. The Mets' ace has been out since the end of April with a partial tear of his right lat muscle. The Mets are poised to be sellers and should be more focused on 2018 at this point, so they figure to take things slow with him. Still, there's a decent chance he'll be back down the stretch if he can avoid setbacks.

Jason Vargas (hand) is set to make his Mets debut on Saturday in San Diego.

As anticipated. Vargas suffered a fracture in his right (non-throwing) hand when he was struck by a comebacker during a Grapefruit League start back on March 16. He'll wind up missing just under a month of the regular-season schedule. The veteran left-hander doesn't miss many bats, but he might have some fantasy streaming appeal in the right matchups.

Tuesday's game between the Orioles and Rays has been postponed due to inclement weather in Baltimore.

Alex Cobb was scheduled to face off against Jake Faria at Camden Yards. The game will be made up with a doubleheader on May 12. Cobb and Faria figure to pitch Wednesday night, with the forecast looking more favorable.
Apr 24 - 4:55 PM

Orlando Arcia (ankle) remains out of the Brewers' starting lineup on Tuesday night.

Arcia sprained his right ankle on Friday and will take another day of rest. Eric Sogard is starting at shortstop and batting ninth Tuesday versus the Royals and right-hander Ian Kennedy.
Apr 24 - 4:49 PM

Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said Tuesday that Josh Donaldson (shoulder) could get into some rehab games by the end of this week.

There is expected to be a more detailed plan announced Wednesday. Donaldson was placed on the disabled list April 13, retroactive to April 11, because of inflammation in his right (throwing) shoulder. Yangervis Solarte continues to fill in at the hot corner for Toronto.
Apr 24 - 4:30 PM

Tommy Pham (groin) is back in the Cardinals' starting lineup Tuesday against the Mets.

Pham missed a couple of games with a tight groin. He is starting in center field and batting second Tuesday night against Mets right-hander Zack Wheeler.
Apr 24 - 4:16 PM

Andrelton Simmons (forearm) is back in the Angels' starting lineup Tuesday against the Astros.

Simmons sat out Monday's game after being hit on the right forearm with a pitch on Sunday, but fortunately it was nothing serious. He's hitting fifth against right-hander Charlie Morton.
Apr 24 - 3:59 PM

Trey Mancini (knee) is in Tuesday's lineup against the Rays.

He's due to hit leadoff and play left field. This is tentative with bad weather expected, but it's a good sign for Mancini's knee. He has missed three straight starts, but was able to pinch hit Monday.
Apr 24 - 3:48 PM

Addison Russell is in Tuesday's lineup against the Indians.

Russell had to briefly be hospitalized after having an allergic reaction to the postgame spread in the clubhouse on Sunday, but fortunately he's feeling a lot better now. He's hitting seventh against right-hander Josh Tomlin on Tuesday.
Apr 24 - 3:43 PM

Kris Bryant is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Indians.

Bryant is said to be doing fine after being hit in the head by a pitch on Sunday, but the Cubs want to give him another day of rest. Consider him day-to-day. Tommy La Stella will start at third base.
Apr 24 - 3:40 PM

Royals activated C Salvador Perez from the 10-day disabled list.

Perez started the year on the disabled list after tearing the MCL in his left knee just before Opening Day, but he went 9-for-24 (.375) with two homers and two doubles during his minor league rehab stint. He'll be a welcome addition to the Royals' lineup and fantasy rosters.
Apr 24 - 3:28 PM

Yoan Moncada will bat sixth Tuesday against the Mariners.

Moncada was a single short of the cycle Monday while hitting leadoff, but he'll slide down in the order against left-hander Marco Gonzales. It's worth noting that he also batted sixth on Saturday against Astros left-hander Dallas Keuchel before leaving with hamstring tightness, so this could be the way Rick Renteria plans on handling things moving forward. Tim Anderson will hit leadoff Tuesday.
