According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the asking price for J.D. Martinez at this week's GM Meetings has been seven years and $210 million.

This comes after Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com reported last week that Martinez's new agent, Scott Boras, was looking for a deal in the range of $200 million. Boras has even dubbed his client as the "King Kong of Slug." It's an appropriate nickname after Martinez mashed 45 homers in just 119 games this past season, but his defensive limitations will likely impact his ability to reach the lofty asking price. Still, he's expected to receive one of the biggest free agent contracts this offseason. The Diamondbacks and Red Sox are among the teams to watch in this situation.

Carlos Correa (back) has resumed throwing and running drills.

Correa was shut down a bit after having a setback with his ailing back, but he's resumed baseball activities. He'll need to reel off a few days in a row of workouts with no problems before the Astros consider a rehab assignment plan. Correa seems unlikely to return before the end of the month at this point.

Yu Darvish (elbow) played catch again Sunday.

Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein said Darvish felt good and the next step for the right-hander will be to throw off a mound. It's obviously a big step for Darvish, but he remains a long ways away from rejoining the rotation. He's been out since late May with a right elbow impingement.

Mariners activated C Mike Zunino from the 10-day disabled list.

Zunino has missed most of this month with a bruised ankle but is ready to go after playing a couple rehab games. The catcher is hitting just .189/.251/.403 this season but has slugged 12 home runs.

The Dodgers are expected to recall Walker Buehler to start Wednesday in Philadelphia.

Buehler was optioned before the All-Star break as the club keeps an eye on his workload, as he'll have gone nearly two weeks in between starts. His pitch count should be relatively limited in Philly, but fantasy owners should still feel pretty comfortable locking him in.

Jesus Aguilar was scratched from the Brewers' lineup Sunday after feeling cramping in both hamstrings Saturday.

It doesn't appear to be much of a concern, but the Brewers understandably want to proceed cautiously with their slugger. Ryan Braun is at first base and Keon Broxton is getting a start in the outfield.
Jul 22 - 12:28 PM

Ervin Santana (finger) will make his season debut for the Twins on Wednesday in Toronto.

Santana had surgery on his right middle finger back in February and had to restart his rehab assignment following a setback back in May. He tossed six innings of one-run ball in his last rehab starts, although he struck out just one batter and walked three. Santana is a solid, albeit unspectacular, fantasy option.

Royals acquired OF Brian Goodwin from the Nationals for RHP Jacob Condra-Bogan.

Goodwin was out of options and not seeing much action with the Nationals, but he should play regularly -- at least against righties -- on the talent-deficient Royals roster. The 27-year-old has some power and speed and looks like a pretty solid pickup in deeper leagues even though he'll be part of an awful lineup.

An MRI has revealed that Sean Doolittle is dealing with a stress reaction in the bridge of his left foot.

Doolittle was placed on the disabled list a couple weeks ago with what was called a toe injury at the time, but we now have a clearer picture on his condition and he's going to miss more time than initially expected. A specific timetable hasn't been established, but Doolittle was told it’s "weeks, not months." Kelvin Herrera is first in line to close while Doolittle is out but Ryan Madson could also be in the mix.
Jul 22 - 11:20 AM

Justin Turner (hip) is back in the Dodgers' lineup Sunday.

It's Turner's first start since July 11, as he's been battling a strained adductor muscle. He's at third base and batting third against Brent Suter and the Brewers. Cody Bellinger and Yasmani Grandal are getting breathers in this one, as Max Muncy is at first base, Enrique Hernandez is in center field and Austin Barnes is catching.
Jul 22 - 11:13 AM

Ozzie Albies (hamstring) is absent from the Braves' lineup Sunday.

Albies had to leave Friday's game with a tight right hamstring and figures to miss multiple contests. Charlie Culberson is filling in at second base.
Jul 22 - 10:04 AM

Cubs pitching coach Jim Hickey revealed recently in an interview on WSCR-AM 670 that Jose Quintana has been dealing with left shoulder fatigue.

It's the reason Quintana isn't making his first second-half start until Sunday, as he'll have gone nearly two weeks in between outings. The club doesn't seem overly concerned about the left-hander for now. "Just tired stuff," manager Joe Maddon said. "He just seemed to be fatigued a bit. Nothing awful. Just give him a couple extra days and the other part was to really work on the method of the changeup."
