Juan Soto crushed two home runs and drove in four runs to key a 5-4 win over the Yankees on Wednesday.

He smoked a three-run bomb off starter Sonny Gray in the fourth inning, then added a solo shot that provided the game's winning margin in the seventh. Soto also walked in the ballgame and got picked off first base. The teenage sensation has demolished every level he's played at and the majors are no exception. The original plan when he was called up was that he would play until Adam Eaton returned from the disabled list. Now Eaton is back and there is no way the Nationals can take Soto's hot bat out of the lineup. He is slashing .344/.447/.641 with five homers and 12 RBI in 20 games.

Javier Baez (elbow) is not in the Cubs' lineup for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Dodgers.

No X-rays were necessary after Baez was hit in the left elbow by a pitch on Sunday, but he was going to sit out Monday's game prior to the postponement. It's possible he could return for the second game of the doubleheader on Tuesday, but Ben Zobrist will start at second base in the first game.

Marcus Stroman (shoulder) is expected to make his return from the disabled list this weekend against the Angels.

Stroman had his rehab start rained out Monday with Double-A New Hampshire, but he was still able to throw a simulated game, clearing the way for his return. It's unclear how far the Blue Jays plan to push him in his first start back. Given his struggles prior to his DL stint, it's understandable if fantasy owners decide to wait and see.

Miguel Rojas drove in three runs while going 2-for-4 in a 5-4 victory over the Giants on Monday.

Rojas had the biggest hit of the game, finishing a two-run comeback against the Giants with a knock against Hunter Strickland to score Cameron Maybin and give the Marlins the lead, and ultimately, the victory. The three runs batted in give him 27 on the season, and he's now slashing .235/.301/.350 over 71 games.

Jacob deGrom allowed two runs -- one earned -- over eight innings in a rout of the Rockies on Monday.

deGrom scattered five hits, and he walked just one while striking out seven. Another sterling effort from the National League ERA leader, who sees that number drop to 1.51 with this strong outing. Amazingly, despite his remarkable numbers, this is just the fifth win on the season, as he's struggled with bullpen issues and run support. He didn't have an issue with either tonight. deGrom will make his next start on Saturday against the Dodgers.
Jun 18 - 11:54 PM

Brandon Nimmo went 4-for-6 with two homers and four RBI in a 12-2 victory over the Rockies on Monday.

Nimmo now has back-to-back three-hit games, and three homers in that stretch. He led off the game with an inside-the-park homer, and he hit one over the fence in the seventh to give him two on the day and 12 on the year. Nimmo has his OPS at 1.008 and doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon. He's one of the true bright spots for the Mets in 2018.

Alex Bregman hit a game-winning double in the bottom of the ninth Monday against the Rays.

That's 12 wins in a row for the Astros. Bregman had been 0-for-4 before delivering his 22nd double of the year off Sergio Romo in the bottom of the ninth, scoring Marwin Gonzalez and Max Stassi. The 24-year-old third baseman up to 40 RBI to go along with 43 runs scored in 71 games. He's probably not going to end the season among the league leaders in any traditional category, but his all-around production makes him a top fantasy infielder.

Nick Pivetta struck out 13 batters over 7 1/3 innings Monday in a no-decision versus the Cardinals.

Philadelphia wound up winning the game in the bottom of the 10th, on walk-off two-run double by Aaron Altherr. Pivetta was sharp, yielding only four hits -- two of them solo homers -- while setting a new career-high in strikeouts. He's sporting a 4.08 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and 94/22 K/BB ratio in 79 1/3 innings (15 starts) this season. Up next is a road start against the division-rival Nationals.

Aaron Altherr hit a walk-off two-run double in the bottom of the 10th inning Monday as the Phillies beat the Cardinals 6-5.

He entered the game in the top of the eighth after Nick Williams got hit in the nose by a ball that ricocheted off the wall in right field. Altherr struck out in his first at-bat in the bottom of the eighth, but with two runners on in the bottom of the 10th he laced a line drive into left field that Marcell Ozuna couldn't snag. It rolled to the wall, allowing Rhys Hoskins to score from first base and Carlos Santana to race around all the way from first. Altherr has mostly struggled this season, but he does have 31 RBI in 65 games.
Jun 18 - 10:57 PM

Aroldis Chapman picked up his 21st save of the season on Monday night against the Nationals.

Chapman gave up a leadoff double to Daniel Murphy in the bottom of the ninth and then issued a one-out walk to Michael Taylor, but he rallied to strike out Adam Eaton and induce a game-ending groundout from Trea Turner. Chapman boasts a 1.14 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, and 55 strikeouts in 31 2/3 innings this season.
Jun 18 - 10:26 PM

Aaron Hicks went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer and two runs scored Monday in the Yankees' 4-2 win over the Nationals.

Hicks led off the game with a double in the top of the first inning before scoring on an RBI single by Giancarlo Stanton. He then took Erick Fedde deep for a two-run shot in the top of the fifth. Hicks has homered in two straight games and holds a .785 OPS with nine homers, 30 RBI, six stolen bases, and 30 runs scored in 55 total games this season. The 28-year-old outfielder was a nice value in drafts this spring.
Jun 18 - 10:18 PM

Trevor Williams allowed just one hit over seven shutout innings Monday in the Pirates' 1-0 blanking of the Brewers.

Williams walked two but struck out seven in a tremendous outing versus a dangerous Milwaukee offense. He had struggled in five consecutive starts, so it came as somewhat of a surprise. The 26-year-old right-hander will bring a 4.00 ERA and 1.22 WHIP into his next turn Saturday against the Diamondbacks. He's an appealing streaming candidate in certain matchups.
