Carlos Gonzalez finished 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a three-run homer, four runs scored and six RBI in Wednesday's 19-2 rout of the Diamondbacks.

The four runs scored were a career high for CarGo, joining DJ LeMahieu and Charlie Blackmon who also accomplished the feat. It's the first time in franchise history that the Rockies had at least three players score at least four runs in a the same game. It was impressive, but don't get too excited. He entered the game with just six RBI total over the past 25 games dating back to June 8.

Jose Ramirez became the first MLB player to reach 30 home runs on the season as the Indians defeated the Rangers in 11 innings on Friday night.

Ramirez accomplished the feat with a solo shot off of Martin Perez that tied the game at 4-4 in the sixth inning. He was also instrumental in the Indians' game-winning rally in the 11th inning, as he socked a leadoff double then dashed home on a single by Edwin Encarnacion. Ramirez has been on a power surge, as he now has six home runs in his last seven games. He has also already set a new career-high with the 30 long balls. Ramirez is having a phenomenal season at the dish, slashing .302/.400/.635 with 30 homers, 71 RBI and 20 stolen bases.

Manny Machado went 2-for-3 with two walks in his Dodgers’ debut Friday against the Brewers.

Machado poked an opposite-field single through the shift in his first at-bat in the first inning. He walked in his next two plate appearances before singling again in the seventh. He batted second in his Dodgers’ debut on Friday, but manager Dave Roberts said he could also be used out of the No. 3 spot in the order. The ballpark change isn’t ideal from a fantasy perspective, but he remains in a good spot to knock in runs.

Buster Olney of ESPN reports that Mets closer Jeurys Familia will be traded to the Athletics if the two sides can finish the deal.

Olney earlier reported that the Mets had agreed to the structure of a deal involving Familia and an unknown team. If the structure of the deal is in place, it likely means that money is the final hurdle, and the Mets have reportedly said they're willing to include cash with Familia to get a better return. With a 2.88 ERA and 43 strikeouts over 40 2/3 innings, the 29-year-old right-hander would give Oakland an excellent bridge to Blake Treinen and give the Athletics one of the better bullpens in the American League.
Jul 20 - 11:42 PM

Yoenis Cespedes went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, a walk, and two runs scored against the Yankees on Friday in his return from the disabled list.

Cespedes didn’t show any signs of rust at the plate despite it being his first game action in the majors in over two months. He went deep against Domingo German in the third inning with a shot which bounced off the left field foul pole. The Mets brought him back as the designated hitter for the interleague series against the Yankees and he figures to stay there all weekend. He’s going to be handled with care moving forward, with the possibility that he could even see time at first base on occasion.

Yankees optioned RHP Domingo German to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

German got the boot after lasting just 3 2/3 innings while giving up four runs in Friday’s loss to the Mets. He's completed five innings just once in the past month and has seen his ERA rise to 5.68 for the year. Luis Cessa will take his place in the rotation for now, but the Yankees will obviously be on the lookout for rotation help this month.
Jul 20 - 11:10 PM

Braves manager Brian Snitker told reporters after Friday's game that the team will "stay away" from Ozzie Albies as he deals with a right hamstring injury for a couple of days.

That likely means that Albies will miss the rest of the series with Washington, and there's a good chance that he could miss the two-game series with the Marlins that starts on Monday. That would put Albies back on Thursday against the Dodgers, so a trip to the 10-day disabled list could be possible. It sounds like the Braves think that won't be necessary, but it's certainly something to keep an eye on.
Jul 20 - 11:00 PM

Derek Dietrich went 3-for-4 with two home runs, four RBI, two runs scored, and a stolen base Friday versus the Rays.

Dietrich connected for a solo shot off Nathan Eovaldi in the third inning and later slugged a three-run shot against Hoby Milner in the seventh. This was his second career multi-homer game. Dietrich has produced an impressive .293/.357/.471 batting line through 94 games this season and is now tied for his career-high with 13 homers. He’s obviously in good position to blow that number away in the second half, though it’s unclear whether he’ll do with the Marlins or a contender.
Jul 20 - 10:56 PM

Carlos Santana went 1-for-4 with a homer and four RBI in an 11-5 victory over the Padres on Friday.

Santana drove in three runs on the homer; a three-run shot off of Clayton Richard that gives the first baseman 15 on the season. The former Cleveland slugger is hitting just .209 on the season, but he's getting on base at a .350 clip, and his slugging percentage is up to .403 with the homer. A disappointing season to be sure -- especially when you consider the price Philadelphia paid for him -- but Santana is still usable, especially in on-base percentage formats.
Jul 20 - 10:33 PM

Stephen Strasburg was tagged for six runs over 4 2/3 innings against the Braves on Friday in his return from the disabled list.

Not the return he or the Nationals had in mind. Strasburg, who missed the past six weeks with shoulder inflammation, scuffled early and ran out of gas in the middle innings. He was pulled after giving up three runs on four hits in the fifth. Strasburg allowed eight hits in all while walking two (one intentional) and striking out six. He’ll try to put this one behind him when he faces the Brewers on the road next week.
Jul 20 - 10:26 PM

Ronald Acuna filled up the box score in Friday’s win over the Nationals by going 3-for-4 with a solo homer, a walk, two stolen bases, and three runs scored.

Not bad for his first time out of the leadoff spot in the majors. Coming into Friday’s action, Acuna was batting just .212/.255/.404 in 14 games since returning from the disabled list. This night was a nice reminder of the sort of dynamic fantasy performer he can be. Fantasy owners need to be patient through the growing pains.
Jul 20 - 10:25 PM

Aledmys Diaz went 4-for-5 with a homer and a walk-off single in the 10th inning give the Blue Jays an 8-7 win over the Orioles on Friday.

Diaz singled off the glove of both Renato Nunez and Tim Beckham to score Russell Martin to give the Blue Jays the victory. He also homered off of Dylan Bundy, giving Diaz nine on the season. The four hits ups his average to .252 and his season OPS now sits at .706 over 71 games. The 27 year-old-shortstop has been streaky over his career with the Cardinals and Blue Jays. Could another hot run be coming?
