MC10 and NASCAR Nationwide Series driver, Paulie Harraka, continue to collaborate on the next generation of athletic performance monitoring devices at the Great Clips 200 Race at Phoenix.

Driving for Go Green Racing, Harraka will test MC10 products under the grueling conditions of a 200-mile course. MC10 and Paulie Harraka first teamed up for a NASCAR World Truck Camping Series Race at the Martinsville Speedway in March 2012. In September, Harraka drove his first race in the Nationwide Series this season with Go Green Racing at the Richmond International Raceway.-Meredith Communications

Mike Harmon Racing announced that veteran road course racer Kevin O'Connell will be driving the #74 this week at Road America.

Kevin has had many ventures with Rick Ware Racing driving in Rolex Grand-Am and NASCAR. Since Carl Long is not driving the #15 for Rick Ware and not being a driver coach for Juan Carlos Blum, he will be crew chief for the #74.(Mike Harmon Racing)-jayski.com

Alex Kennedy is attempting to make his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut at Sonoma Raceway this weekend driving for Humphrey Smith Racing, LLC (HSR).

Kennedy, who is familiar with the 2.52-mile road course, will pilot the #19 MediaMaster/Dream Factory Toyota Camry. As an aspiring race car driver, Kennedy, then 12, competed in multiple Legends Car events at the hilly, 12-turn course. Kennedy brings NASCAR racing experience with him, having competed in 14 events in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, nine of which were on the road courses of Watkins Glen, Road America and Montreal.-jayski.com

Eric McClure will compete in his 213th NASCAR Nationwide Series event this weekend and his fourth at the historic 14-turn Road America facility.

This race marks the one year anniversary of the 34-year-old driver’s return after missing six weeks last season due to injuries sustained in an accident at Talladega Superspeedway. In three starts, the Virginia driver has completed 94.3% of the total laps attempted and has an average finish of 25. Last season, McClure finished 21st, a track-best for the Virginia native.

Tomy Drissi once again will head to Northern California for The Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway on June 23, 2013.

The Trans Am Champion was hired by NEMCO-JRR for the NASCAR road course event. Tomy has driven in both NASCAR SPRINT Cup and NASCAR Nationwide Series events. Tomy and the No. 87 team will be sponsored by The Wolverine [movie] opening in theaters, July 26, 2013. "We're very excited to have Tomy in the car," said Joe Nemechek. "He brings a lot of road racing experience and should be really good at Sonoma."

Johnny O’Connell, a longtime GM factory driver and recent inductee into the Sebring Hall of Fame, will drive the No. 5 CorvetteParts.net Chevrolet at Road America, his first-ever race in a NASCAR stock car.

Last month, O’Connell participated in a JR Motorsports team test at Virginia International Raceway. He is a three-time American Le Mans Series champion for Corvette Racing and current World Challenge champion for Cadillac. He won the 2001 24 Hours of Daytona for Corvette Racing. He has eight total wins in the 12 Hours of Sebring – more than any other driver.-JR Motorsports

Regan Smith holds only four starts on road courses in NASCAR Nationwide Series, but eight at the Sprint Cup level with one top-10 finish (ninth at Watkins Glen 2012).

Earlier this season, Smith tested with the JRM team at Virginia International Raceway. He and the Greg Ives-led No. 7 team continued to improve their championship hopes by adding another 35-point cushion to the points lead, following the Michigan win. Smith now holds a 58-point lead over Sam Hornish, Jr. and earned his 11th consecutive top-10 finish last weekend.-JR Motorsports

The Toyota/Save Mart 350k at Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway will mark Danica Patrick’s 26th career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start and her first at Sonoma.

Patrick has never started a stock-car event at Sonoma, but competed in seven IZOD IndyCar Series races with three top-10 finishes, including a fifth-place result in 2008. Of note, the IndyCar Series used two different layouts during those seven years, neither of which is the one currently in use by the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.-True Speed Communication

Last season’s Sprint Cup win at Sonoma Raceway was a big deal for No. 15 5-hour ENERGY Toyota driver Clint Bowyer.

The win was Bowyer’s first since joining MWR, his first on a road course, first for the No. 15 team and sponsor 5-hour ENERGY. But, the win also carried special meaning for 11-year old Brett Bakken fighting Stage IV Burkett’s Lymphoma at a hospital back in Winston-Salem, N.C. MWR put Bakken’s name above the passenger side door of Bowyer’s No. 15 Toyota Camry. Bowyer gave a special message to the TV cameras in victory lane dedicating the win to Bakken and telling him to keep up the good fight. Carl Edwards enters Sonoma second in the Sprint Cup point standings.

In his previous eight starts at Sonoma Raceway, Edwards has one top-five and three top-10 finishes, and has led 14 laps. His average start is 19.6 and his average finish is 17.1. The Car: The Aflac team will be bringing chassis RK-853 this weekend to Sonoma. This is the same chassis the team tested at Virginia International Raceway in May.-Roush Fenway Racing

Billy Johnson will make his first NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) start of the season this weekend at Road America for Roush Fenway Racing.

In 2012 he had a solid freshman outing at the 4.04-mile circuit, starting 4th and running strong until mechanical failure struck on lap 25 ending the team’s day early. Johnson has three starts in the NNS scoring one top-10 finish in 2012. The No. 16 team brings chassis RK-753 to the track this weekend for its debut at Road America. Johnson will return to action at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for his second start of the 2013 NNS season.-Roush Fenway Racing

Bobby Labonte returns to the No. 47 Kingsford Toyota Camry at Sonoma Raceway and has made 20 starts at the venue.

The 2000 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion has two top-five and five top-10 finishes at the road course. Labonte's best finish is fourth-place and that has occurred twice (6/25/00 and 6/28/98). His average start is 18.1 and average finish is 20.1.-JTG Daugherty Racing
