The race will mark the eighth event in which JRM has entered three cars this season. Smith’s entry is in preparation for 2013 when he’ll compete for a Nationwide Series Championship under the JRM banner in the No. 5 Chevrolet.-JR Motorsports

Scott Heckert (No. 34 Project Lifesaver Chevrolet) is at the top of the speed chart in the final practice leading to the K&N PS-East NASCAR NAPA 150 at Columbus (Ohio) Motor Speedway.

He put up a 14.256 second lap in the final practice. No. 5 J.J. Haley, No. 98 Rico Abeu, No. 51 Dalton Sargeant and No. 30 Grant Quinlan are the rest of the top five and No. 47 Mike Senica was the slowest of the 22 cars running in this final session.

Dillon Bassett (No. 44 Bassett Gutters Ford) led the first practice for the K&N PS-East NASCAR NAPA 150 at Columbus (Ohio) Motor Speedway.

A lap of 14.486 seconds was the quickest of the 22 cars out on the track for the first practice session. No. 98 Rico Abreu, No. 30 Grant Quinlan, No. 5 J.J. Haley and No. 3 Kaz Grala are the rest of the top five on the speed chart. No. 47 Mike Senica was the slowest.
Jul 4 - 2:56 PM

Kevin Lacroix had an eventful morning prior to the fifth annual Ecko Unlimited 100 at Circuit ICAR.

The 26-year-old rookie from Saint-Eustache, Quebec, posted the fastest time in first practice for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1. And then his No. 74 Lacroix Tuning/Excellence Chrysler Dodge completed just one lap in the second session after reporting the left rear axle cap had come off. Lacroix's lap of 1 minute, 37.331 seconds (78.154 mph) around the 2.113-mile, 14-turn road course in the first 30-minute run stood up as the fastest time overall.
Jul 4 - 2:14 PM

Danica Patrick posted the fastest single lap in final practice for the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway with a speed of 198.133 mph. Her three teammates, Kurt Busch, Kevin Harvick, and Tony Stewart were all lined up behind her.

The Stewart-Haas Racing teammates were drafting with Hendrick Motorsports as they caught another pack, which underscores how important drafting is on restrictor-plate, superspeedways. Patrick is more than capable of staying out of trouble and finishing in the top 10 this week.
Jul 3 - 6:03 PM

In addition to rolling out a backup car, Greg Biffle was forced to change his engine for the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway. No matter where he qualifies, he will have to start from the back of the pack.

Starting position is meaningless on plate tracks and Biffle’s ability to get to the front is not in question. He has not finished among the top 15 in his last seven Coke Zero 400 attempts, however, and cannot be considered a favorite this week.
Jul 3 - 5:59 PM

Jamie McMurray is one of several drivers who will roll out a backup for the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway. He was involved in the nine-race crash that occurred 10 minutes into in the first session.

Midway through final practice McMurray was about midway down the speed chart. Raw speed is not particularly important in pack racing, but the No. 1 team has to feel better after shaking the car down.
Jul 3 - 5:48 PM

Ty Dillon tops the speed chart in the Final Practice session for the XFINITY Series Subway Firecracker 250 at Daytona International Speedway.

The No. 3 Yuengling America's Oldest Brewery Chevrolet Camaro driver ran a fast lap of 179.978 mph. No. 13 Mark Thompson, No. 40 Derek White, No. 22 Joey Logano and No. 26 Timmy Hill round out the top-five of the 23 cars out on the track. The No. 97 Chevrolet driven by Peyton Sellers was the slowest in the final practice session.
Jul 3 - 5:40 PM

Dale Earnhardt Jr. posted the fastest single lap in the first practice session for the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona. His top speed was 202.284 mph.

Speed at Daytona is essentially meaningless since the fastest times are set when a driver runs up on another group. Still, Earnhardt is the plate track Pied Piper and he should be considered a favorite on Sunday.
Jul 3 - 3:59 PM

Brennan Poole has the best 10-lap consecutive average speed in the first practice for the XFINITY Series Subway Firecracker 250 at Daytona International Speedway.

The average speed of 186.750 mph in the No. 42 DC Solar Chevrolet Camaro was best of the six cars that ran 10 consecutive laps on the track for this session. No. 6 Darrell Wallace Jr. (186.226 mph), No. 43 Dakoda Armstrong (186.157), No. 7 Regan Smith (185.895), No. 2 Brian Scott (185.707) and No. 9 Chase Elliot (184.353) are the rest on this list.
Jul 3 - 3:41 PM

Sprint Cup regular David Ragan led the first practice session for the XFINITY Series Subway Firecracker 250 at Daytona International Speedway.

The lap of 190.573 mph in the No. 20 Interstate Batteries Toyota was best of the 36 cars out on the track for this session. No. 6 Darrell Wallace Jr., No. 16 Ryan Reed, No. 18 Daniel Suarez and No. 2 Brian Scott are the rest of the top five on the speed chart. Peyton Sellers in the No. 97 Chevrolet Camaro was the slowest.
Jul 3 - 3:38 PM

Carl Edwards did everything right in practice, but still wrecked. He slowed to miss a spinning Kyle Busch before getting run over from behind.

Edwards has been crash-prone in the past on restrictor-plate, superspeedways and often sustains damage in practice as well. Luck is unpredictable in NASCAR, but his is bad enough to cause fantasy owners to avoid the No. 19.
