Brandon McReynolds earned his first career NASCAR K&N Pro Series West win at Iowa on May 17th.

He added another accolade Friday night when he captured the Coors Light Pole Award for the Thanks Kenny 150 (the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East-West combined event). The third out of 38 cars in qualifying, McReynolds set a time of 23.971 seconds (131.475 mph) to pace the field. Rico Abreu was the fastest K&N Pro Series East qualifier with a fast lap of 24.002 (131.239 mph) to earn the third overall starting position.

Kyle Busch posted a speed of 178.416 mph to win the pole for the Windows 10 400 at Pocono Raceway. That is his first pole since last fall’s Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He finished fifth in that race.

Busch is seeking an incredible fifth win in the past five races. His last three victories all came after he started among the top 10 and no one wants to bet against him this week.

Matt Kenseth was 0.077 seconds slower than Brad Keselowski in the first practice session for the Windows 10 400 at Pocono Raceway.

Joe Gibbs Racing has been incredibly strong on flat tracks, but their drivers are a little better on the shorter versions. They cannot be overlooked at Pocono though, because all four racers posted times that were 11th-fastest or greater. When an organization is good as a whole, they are more predictable.
Jul 31 - 12:51 PM

Brad Keselowski set the fastest time in the first practice session for the Windows 10 400 at Pocono Raceway. His top speed was 176.606 mph

Pocono is a long and wide track. Strategy allows drivers to come from the back when necessary. It is still much better to roll off the hauler fast, however, and Keselowski should be good later today in qualification.

Kyle Busch will make his return to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on Aug. 1 for the Pocono Mountains 150.

Busch missed the first three months of NASCAR racing due to severe leg and foot injuries he suffered in the NASCAR XFINITY Series opener. In his comeback, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver has had an impressive few months of racing on both the Sprint Cup and XFINITY sides and is looking to, once again, top the Camping World Truck Series leaderboard. With a total of 42 wins, 79 top fives, 99 top-10 results and 16 poles, Busch is hoping to add to his impressive Camping World Truck Series statistics this August. Busch's last Camping World Truck Series win was in October during the 2014 WinStar World Casino & Resort 350 at Texas, where he led for 80 laps.
