Turner Motorsports and Miguel Paludo announced today that the top-tier NASCAR team and the rising Brazilian talent will extend their partnership in 2013.

Paludo will compete full time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) next season in the No. 32 Chevrolet Silverado with sponsorship from long-time partner Duroline Brakes and Components. Crew chief Jeff Hensley will continue to lead the team. Paludo has made 51 starts in the Truck Series, accumulating four top-fives, 14 top-10s, one pole and a best finish of third (Michigan, August 2011).-Turner Motorsports

For the first time since last fall, Matt Kenseth has earned back-to-back top-fives in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series with his fifth at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the Brickyard 400 on the heels of last week’s fourth at New Hampshire.

Both of these races occurred on flat tracks, so Kenseth should be watched closely next week at Pocono Raceway. That is particularly important because Kasey Kahne’s win moved the transfer bubble. One more unique winner from further down the standings could bump him.

Joey Logano finished fourth in the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which is only his second top-five in the past 11 races.

The significance is that is the amount of time since his encumbered win. He had a five-race, top-five streak going before the penalty and if he cannot win again, he is virtually assured he will not make the playoffs. He needs to build momentum before fantasy players roll the dice on the No. 22.

Ryan Newman survived multiple accidents in the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and finished third.

Newman was one of our picks to be a top value in the Weekend Update and he rewarded that optimism greatly. That makes him a dark horse contender heading into next week’s Pocono Raceway event.

Brad Keselowski wanted to give Roger Penske his first Brickyard 400 win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, but he came up one position short in second.

Keselowski did not have a great car for most of the day, but he proved that determination makes up for a lot when he got into the front pack at the end. He took the lead just before the final restart, but could not quite outrun Kahne at the end.

Michael Annett (No. 5 TMC Chevrolet Camaro) finished 25th in Saturday's NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) Lilly Diabetes 250 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, IN.

He started fifth in the lineup and completed 99 of the 100 laps run. Annett, who entered all 18 NXS races so far this season, slipped one spot to 10th in the 2017 driver championship point standings after this event.

Kasey Kahne won a crash-marred Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and virtually locks himself into the playoffs.

There is still an opportunity for more than 16 drivers to qualify with victories and that could be a factor in whether he is in contention, but this has to take some of the weight off of Kahne’s shoulders. He had to survive several late race cautions and aggressive moves by the field. This snaps a 102-race winless streak.
