In five starts at Sonoma Raceway, Paul Menard's best start of third and best finish of 17th both came in 2011.

The Wisconsin native has completed 556 of 567 laps attempted (99.8 percent) at the 1.99-mile road course. Race Rewind: Starting 23rd, Menard was in contention for a top-15 finish when a late-race spin relegated the No. 27 team to a 20th-place finish at the Sonoma, Calif., road course last season. Menard will pilot the same chassis that he previously raced at Sonoma in 2011 and 2012.-Richard Childress Racing

If there was one track that 'owes' Marcos Ambrose, it is the Sonoma Raceway.

Ambrose has five starts at the road course. Beside a transmission failure in his first start, the road course veteran has finished in the top-10 in all events, including a best finish of third (2009). A win has been elusive, however, making Ambrose and the No. 9 Stanley Ford team thirsty for Victory Lane in wine country.-Breaking Limits

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will make his debut at Sonoma Raceway this weekend; the Sprint Cup rookie has never raced in any series at this road course.

Last year in the three road course races on the Nationwide schedule, Stenhouse finished 12th or better. The Car: Chassis RK-816 is the same chassis that the No. 99 team ran last year at Watkins Glen finishing 14th.-Roush Fenway Racing

Aric Almirola has two starts at the 1.99-mile Sonoma Raceway road course and finished 28th in both events.

After a two-day test with teammate Marcos Ambrose earlier this season, Almirola feels he can top his best road course finish of 18th, which he tallied at Watkins Glen last season.-Breaking Limits

Greg Biffle has 10 Sprint Cup career starts at Sonoma, earning two top-five and four top-10 finishes.

His average finish at Sonoma is 14.9 from an average starting position of 16.4. Biffle has finished on the lead lap in all but one start at Sonoma, and that was his very first start back in 2003. He finished in the top 10 at both road course races in 2012. The Car: RK-764 is the same car that Biffle drove a seventh-place finish a year ago at Sonoma.-Roush Fenway Racing

Nine-time series champion Frank Kimmel finished in the top 10 in 90 percent of his ARCA road-course starts.

And despite the fact that Kimmel has yet to lead a lap in 10 career ARCA road-course races on five different tracks, he's confident his current streak of 18 consecutive top-10 finishes in the No. 44 Ansell / Menards Toyota -- the second-best streak of his career after a 21-straight string of top fives that occurred over the 2002-2003 seasons -- can continue Saturday at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis., when the four-mile road course holds its debut ARCA race, the SCOTT 160.-ThorSport Racing

Michael Annett has three starts at the four-mile Road America track, accumulating one top-10 finish.

He earned his best starting position of 12th last year and his best finish of seventh in 2011. The No. 43 team was on their way to another top-10 finish last year until the transmission broke with two laps to go. The team brings the same chassis that was run at the track last year and also at Watkins Glen last year where it finished 11th.-Breaking Limits

David Gilliland has always performed well on the winding, hilly Sonoma Raceway road course.

This includes a second-place finish in 2008 that is tied with last month's Talladega runner-up finish for his best Cup career result. The California native also has two wins in the NASCAR K&N West Series at the venue.-Breaking Limits

Josh Wise has only raced Sonoma Raceway once before, but it's already one of his favorite tracks.

After last year's visit to the 1.99-mile road course, he found it reminded him of his dirt-track racing days. Like on a dirt track, the winding course allows more leeway for overdriving the car and being more aggressive. Wise's one Cup start at Sonoma resulted in a 30th-place finish in 2012.-Breaking Limits
