Frank Kimmel knew he had a great possibility to score his first ARCA victory with ThorSport Racing at the 2012 ARCA Mobile 200.

But three laps from the end of the series' inaugural event at the half-mile short track in Irvington,Alabama, Kimmel was spun out of a top-five finish. He ended up 17th, which ultimately doomed Kimmel's chances for a 10th career title. In 2013, he has several reasons to eagerly anticipate Saturday afternoon's second annual Mobile ARCA 200. First, Kimmel came out of the series' opener, three weeks ago at Daytona, fourth in the championship. But even more important, he's got a full season working with crew chief Jeriod Prince, who engineered two victories for Kimmel in the second half of last season.-ThorSport Racing

Denny Hamlin expected the bump-and-run but it never came. Kyle Busch got to the back bumper in the closing laps of the Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown on Thursday night, but showed his teammate a ton of respect.

That was enough for Hamlin to win his own charity Late Model race for just the second time in his career. Regional star CE Falk briefly took the lead from Hamlin with 35 laps to go, but was victimized in lap traffic when he got stuck behind a slow Colin Garrett. The loss of momentum allowed Hamlin to retake the lead and hold serve for the remainder of the race. Busch was able to get by Falk, but never gave Hamlin the hard shove it would have taken to win the race over the final five laps.

Jeb Burton (No. 3 Estes Express Lines Chevrolet) finished 12th in Friday night's NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) ToyotaCare 250 at Richmond Raceway.

He started 14th in the lineup and completed all laps of the 250 laps run. Burton, who was making his first start of eight NXS races run so far this season, is currently 37th in the 2018 championship standings after this event.

Christopher Bell (No. 20 Rheem Toyota) won the ToyotaCare 250, his second victory in 16 NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) races.

This is his first victory and fifth top-10 finish in 2018. It is his first victory and second top-10 finish in two races at Richmond Raceway (RR). Noah Gragson (second) finished in the top-five in his series debut at RR. Elliott Sadler (third) posted his 15th top-10 finish in 30 races at RR. Pole-sitter Cole Custer led 43 laps and finished the 250-lap event in sixth place. Sadler leads the 2018 NXS driver championship point standings by 29 points over race winner Bell.
Apr 20 - 11:12 PM

Chase Elliott posted a lap of 123.621 mph and will line up on the outside of the front row for the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway.

Elliott has experienced a lot of trouble in the past few weeks and needs a strong run to put that behind the team. We keep waiting for this team to break through with a win and each week is a good opportunity. Richmond is no exception.
Apr 20 - 6:24 PM

Martin Truex Jr. set a lap of 123.859 m.p.h. to win the pole for the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway. It is his 18th career pole and first at Richmond.

Truex was fastest in round one and fourth-fastest in round two. He is sill looking for his first short track win of his career – and there would be no better place to do that than on a little course that behaves like an unrestricted, intermediate speedway.
Apr 20 - 6:20 PM

Kyle Busch failed to advance to the second round of qualification for the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway – and with a lap of 122.344 m.p.h., he will start 32nd.

Busch did not make a mock qualification run in practice and seemed to just get caught off guard. He should be able to get to the front before the race is over and will earn a lot of place-differential points.
Apr 20 - 5:51 PM

Cole Custer (No. 00 Code 3 Associates/Ford Mustang) won the Pole Award for the ToyotaCare 250 with a lap of 22.253 seconds, 121.332 mph.

This is his second pole in 46 NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) races. It is his second pole and seventh top-10 start in 2018 and his first pole in four races at Richmond Raceway (RR). Christopher Bell (second), the fastest qualifying Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender, posted his sixth top-10 start of 2018 and his first in two races at RR. Austin Cindric (third) posted his first top-10 start at RR and his fourth in eight series races this season.
Apr 20 - 5:31 PM

In four starts at Richmond Raceway, Austin Dillon has finished either 20th or 21st four times.

Dillon finished 20th in last spring’s Toyota Owners 400 and was 21st in the fall Federated Auto Parts 400. Combined with a 20th and 13th in 2016, that means Dillon has three top-20s in his last four attempts and there is every likelihood that is about where he will finish this week.
Apr 20 - 2:47 PM

Ross Chastain should be able to finish in the top 30 at Richmond Raceway, if his two previous short, flat track starts are an indication.

Chastain has shown consistency in his short, flat track starts. He was 27th after starting 36th at Ingenuity Sun Media Raceway (Phoenix) and 29th from 33rd at Martinsville Speedway.
