Sprint Cup regular Michael McDowell secures the last qualifying slot open to teams outside of the top 30 in owner points for the Nationwide Series race.

The No. 27 Toyota Camry driver’s lap of 118.730 mph was 35th fastest in qualifying for the the Nationwide Series Jeff Foxworthy’s Grit Chips 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway. He will line up 40th at the green flag.

Connecticut-based Marsh Racing announced its return to NASCAR’s top developmental series, the K&N Pro Series, with David Garbo Jr. driving the No. 31 car sponsored by long-time partner Whelen Engineering Company, Inc.

The 18-year-old from Stonington, Connecticut ran a limited NASCAR K&N Pro Series East schedule in 2014 highlighted by a top-10 finish at Bristol Motor Speedway. Garbo is scheduled to compete full-time in 2015 in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. The season kicks off on Sunday, Feb. 15, at central Florida’s New Smyrna Speedway during the track’s annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing.

Wood Brothers Racing announced Jeremy Bullins will rejoin the No. 21 Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Fusion team next season to serve as the crew chief for Ryan Blaney in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, beginning with the 2015 Daytona 500.

Bullins returns to the Wood Brothers organization following a successful three-year tenure with Team Penske’s No. 22 NASCAR Nationwide Series team that produced 21 wins and two consecutive NASCAR Nationwide Series Owners’ Championships. Bullins first worked with the Wood Brothers in 1999 on the Pro Cup and Late Model cars driven by Jon Wood.-Wood Brothers Racing

The SCORE BAJA Buggy winner and Team Stange Racing recently announced that Christian Celaya will compete in the 2015 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West as well as the K&N Pro East’s season opener at Florida’s New Smyrna Speedway.

Celaya is preparing for his K&N debut with Team Stange Racing by building a fleet of cars with the new Five Star Composite Bodies. As well as training with his physical trainer to get in to top shape for the season. Celaya will campaign No. 22 Ford in the K&N Pro West, which will open in Kern on March 28th. In addition to New Smyrna, Celaya hopes to race in additional K&N Pro Series East races.

Sean Corr topped the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards speed charts in open testing Saturday morning at Daytona Int’l Speedway.

Corr, in the No. 48 Empire Racing-Hylton Motorsports Ford, circled the 2.5-mile superspeedway in 48.433 seconds, an average speed of 188.509 mph, posting the fastest speed yet during the two-day open test. He is utilizing the new ARCA Ilmor 396 engine. Just a tick away from Corr was his teammate Patrick Staropoli in a Roush Yates engine at 188.478 mph. Patrick was fastest overall in Friday’s test. Austin Cindric, son of Penske Racing headman Tim Cindric, was third fastest overall at 186.278 mph in a Cunningham Motorsports Dodge. Eight-time Daytona winner Bobby Gerhart was fourth ahead of Venturini Motorsports’ Cody Coughlin.

Cody Coughlin, in the No. 55 Venturini Motorsports Toyota, led the speed charts in ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Friday morning testing at Daytona Int’l Speedway.

Coughlin circled the 2.5-mile "World Center of Racing" in 48.210 seconds, an average speed of 186.683 mph. Sean Corr, in the No. 48 Hylton Motorsports Ford, was second on the charts ahead of Tom Hessert (Cunningham Motorsports), Leilani Munter (Venturini Motorsports), and Bobby Gerhart (Bobby Gerhart Racing) to complete the top-five. Thirty drivers posted time and speed in the morning session.

Menards will continue its partnership with Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR XFINITY Series, positioning the third-largest home improvement store in the United States as a primary sponsor for select races on RCR's No. 33 Chevrolet entry with drivers Paul Menard and Brandon Jones in 2015.

Menards has played a pivotal role in RCR's NXS campaign since 2012. Menard will drive the No. 33 Menards Chevrolet Camaro for select events in 2015, while maintaining a full-time schedule in the No. 27 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series entry for RCR. The Eau Claire, Wis.-native is a two-time XFINITY Series race winner with five pole awards, 31 top-five and 81 top-10 finishes. Roush Fenway Racing has announced that Bubba Wallace will drive the No. 6 Ford Mustang for the team in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) next season.

The signing pairs NASCAR’s winningest NXS team with a young driver widely regarded as one of the most talented up-and-coming competitors in NASCAR. The 21-year-old Wallace has posted five wins in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, including four trips to victory lane in 2014. In 2013 with his victory at Martinsville Speedway, Wallace became the first African American driver to win in one of NASCAR’s three national series since 1963. He has competed in six career NXS races, earning four top-10 finishes and a pole at Dover International Speedway.-Roush Fenway Racing

Red Horse Racing announced today that 2014 Sunoco Rookie of the Year Ben Kennedy will join the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) team to drive the No. 11 Toyota Tundra.

Kennedy won Pro Truck championship titles in 2009, and followed with a Super Late Model championship and Rookie of the Year honors in 2010. He entered the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East in 2011. In 2012, he made history winning the first NASCAR-sanctioned Euro Racecar Series oval track event at Tours Speedway in France. In 2013, he finished fourth in the K&N-East standings with two wins, one pole award, three top-five and nine top-10 finishes, and was crowned the series' Most Popular Driver. He entered NCWTS full-time in 2014, starting on the pole for the season-opener at Daytona, one top-five and seven top-10 finishes, and claiming Rookie of the Year honors.-Red Horse Racing

Lira Motorsports welcomes David Levine to its driver lineup in 2015 as the newest member of the local race team based out of Port Orange, Florida.

Levine plans to run a full schedule in 2015 in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. His first stint behind the wheel comes this weekend, December 19-20, when he will participate in the ARCA open test at Daytona International Speedway. Lira Motorsports and Kimmel Racing will partner for the event, with Levine as their driver in the No. 68 Kimmel Racing Ford Fusion. Levine has made a career as a road course specialist thus far, focusing on sports cars, stock cars, and open wheel formula cars.

After running seven NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races in 2014, SS Green Light Racing is pleased to announce that Ray Black Jr. will run the full NCWTS schedule for the Mooresville based team in 2015 driving the No. 07 ScubaLife Chevrolet Silverado.

ScubaLife will be the primary sponsor for Black’s No. 07 Dive Truck with support from NASE Worldwide and CDA Technical Institute. The Florida native will run for the NCWTS Rookie of the Year award.
