Travis Pastrana will make his second NASCAR Nationwide Series start at Darlington Raceway this Friday night.

Last season, he made his second overall NNS start at the 1.37-mile track, finishing 17th. Pastrana earned his first career NNS pole last weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, but finished 36th in the Aaron’s 312 after a mid-race accident took the No. 60 Ford Mustang out of contention. Pastrana is now 15th in the NNS point standings.-Roush Fenway Racing

Austin Dillon got the first Darlington Stripe early in practice for the Bojangles' Southern 500. He slapped the wall hard enough to do significant damage and might have to go to a backup. The team is attempting to repair first.

Dillon got off to a strong start last year with an 11th in his rookie season. He should be able to rebound, but players looking for a strong sophomore might want to turn their attention to Kyle Larson.

A top-five is all but certain for Kevin Harvick this week. He enters the Bojangles' Southern 500 at Darlington as the defending winner from 2014, finished fifth there in 2013, and has five top-fives in the last six races of this season.

In addition, Harvick has finished on the lead lap in his last six Darlington starts, which suggests he will finish strong even if he stumbles. There is no such thing as firm certainly in NASCAR and Harvick has four crash-induced results in 18 starts, but he should be a safe pick.
Sep 3 - 4:21 PM

Jimmie Johnson enters the Bojangles' Southern 500 with three consecutive top-fives at Darlington. He was third last year and fourth in 2013, but his crowning moment was in 2012 when he scored his third victory with the Lady in Black.

Nine of Johnson’s 16 Darlington attempts ended in top-fives, which equals 56 percent of his starts. If he practices well this weekend, he should be a staple on most rosters despite his recent down-tick in 2015 results.
Sep 3 - 4:20 PM

Greg Biffle should be a solid mid-cap pick this week at Darlington Raceway. He enters the weekend with four consecutive top-15s on this track, all of which ended on the lead lap.

Biffle finished fifth in this race last year and he had back-to-back victories at the Track Too Tough to Tame in 2005/2006. Fantasy owners should not expect results in that range, but a little strategy should provide a top-10 and that will make him a good value at his cap level.

Jason Hathaway has raced in every event in NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. He's been a race winner and a championship contender.

After Sunday's race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, he can add highlight to his résumé: Road-course winner. Hathaway, a self-professed "oval guy" held off road-course aces L.P. Dumoulin and Jeff Lapcevich following a late-race restart to win the Pinty's presents the Clarington 200. This moved the 38-year-old from St. Thomas, Ontario, to second in the championship standings heading into the season finale at Kawartha Speedway on Sept. 19.
